"When we tried to ask the waitress questions about the menu and the mimosa bong, she seemed inattentive and rushed. We ordered drinks, including the mimosa bong and shots of Grey Goose. We noticed the bartender preparing the drinks, but they sat on the bar for some time. The waitress eventually brought over the shots but not the mimosa bong, repeatedly stating it would be ready shortly, even walking past the bar twice without picking it up. One of our group members went up to the bartender, who confirmed that the mimosa bong was indeed ours and personally delivered it to our table, as the waitress was nowhere to be found. Upon pouring our drinks, we discovered the mimosa bong was leaking. When we informed another staff member, he commented that we shouldn’t have to "deal with that on Mother’s Day" and promptly brought us a new one. The waitress returned and asked if we had received it, at which point we ordered our food. The meal was decent; we had pancakes, shrimp and grits, and an omelet, but we received everything except the omelet about five minutes earlier. The waitress then disappeared, and we had to ask other staff for water, napkins, and utensils. The bathrooms were in poor condition, lacking soap and cleanliness, with urine on the floors. When we settled our bill, which exceeded $100, the man who replaced the mimosa bong remarked, “Make sure you tip my waitress well.” After paying, we left what we believed was a fair tip for the service we received. However, as we were getting into our car, that same man approached us outside the restaurant asking about the tip. We inquired if there was an issue and explained our dissatisfaction with the service. He seemed visibly upset and stood outside as if to intimidate us, making the encounter uncomfortable and feeling somewhat harassed. I recommend Cafe Ole addresses issues concerning service, cleanliness, and professionalism. We visited from out of town and hoped for a pleasant Mother's Day brunch without a long wait, but our experience at Cafe Ole was disappointing. Consequently, we will not return and cannot recommend this restaurant. I do hope this review encourages improvements from the staff. On a positive note, their brunch menu does offer some good vegetarian options, including pancakes, eggs, and potato hash."

Great quesadillas and delicious bacon-wrapped shrimp! The salsa was fantastic! My waiter Carson made my first experience here a wonderful one!

I had the brisket tacos for a takeout order and they were amazing. I haven’t found great tacos in Memphis before coming here. I definitely will return!

I had a great experience at the restaurant! The staff was friendly, and the location was fantastic. The food was not only excellent but also delicious. The outdoor patio is spacious, and they offer happy hour every day.

I wouldn't categorize it as Tex-Mex—it's truly authentic Mexican cuisine. I would describe it as Southern soul-inspired Mexican. The food was well-seasoned, and the drinks were fantastic. The service was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely go back! View menu

The atmosphere is fantastic! You definitely have to order the beans by the bowl—thank me later for that recommendation. As for the tacos, the Memphis brisket was absolutely delicious. It’s a hidden gem! I got a bit carried away with those beans, but the service was excellent too.

The food was fantastic and exceeded my expectations. My waiter, Brian, was exceptional and greatly enhanced the experience. If you're craving the Mexican pizza from Taco Bell, this is definitely the place to go—it's the best I've had! However, the funnel cake did not come from Cafe Ole.

I understand that we came on a busy Saturday night (NOT). 1 table occupancy in the inside. But to be told to seat ourselves ?we located a table on the patio. Minutes later the SAME girl who told the man server to tell us to seat ourselves walks out with menus and utensils to seat a white couple. Still I waited, another server walks past us and proceeded to ask the couple who just sat down to take their drink order. At that point we CLEARLY got the message and will NOT BE BACK!! View menu

The music was blaring so loudly that it felt like my ears were in pain. Despite asking multiple times for it to be turned down, nothing changed. The tacos and rice were surprisingly tasteless and lacked flavor. My wife wanted to order a sangria but was told it was unavailable. Is there a Mexican restaurant out there that doesn’t serve sangria? The only redeeming aspect of Cafe Ole was a photo of Spuds McKenzie on the wall. We definitely won't be coming back. On top of everything, my wife was charged $6.00 for sweet tea in a small plastic cup, and she was even billed for a tea refill! Have you ever heard of charging for a tea refill? I certainly haven't. And don't expect to get complimentary...

Despite the restaurant being visibly uncrowded both inside and outside, we frequently had to request assistance from other staff members. As for the food, the chips were excessively greasy. Our waitress took a long time to take our orders, and there were moments when she simply walked past our table without acknowledging us. We even had to ask one of our guests to help locate servers. When the food arrived, it was decent but lukewarm. We ordered a Mimosa Bong, but had to get the first one replaced because it leaked while pouring. The gentleman who brought the replacement commented, “I’ll take care of that because you shouldn't have to deal with this on Mother’s Day.” After our meal, he also...

"Just to start this out as honestly as i can, we had just gotten out of a 6+ hour long drive so we were hungry and sorta didn't care about what to get just knew we wanted food! With that being said this food was amazing, we both got the Veggie Burrito and a fountain drink. Food didn't take long to get to us, we were seated upstairs, which on its own is a completely different experience that we weren't expecting, you walk into a small entrance where you can see the cooks making the orders and you place your order at the counter, not gonna lie the downstairs isn't much to look at but I do appreciate being able to see the cooks, not for security or anything, just because you don't see that too often. After you make your order you're walked upstairs and seated in this very nice large room with many tables chairs and even a bar! We came towards the middle of the day so we didn't experience any drinks unfortunately. Beautiful space, great design and lots of natural lighting, the atmosphere was very nice and refreshing. The food, now the food was super surprising not to say that we're expecting it to be bad but in my experience anything Veggie or vegetarian usually has a tendency of being a bit bland and or being filled with lettuce where the meat would've been, which is sad because that means many places rely heavily on meat to bring the flavor, but our burritos were so delicious! The burritos had lots of flavor with nothing overpowering anything but instead everything complimenting everything else rather well, they had actually used potatoes in the burritos as the protein replacement and i was very much elated at that, because let's be honest you can do so much with potatoes and they absolutely paired well in the burrito, I personally don't like spicy anything so when I saw jalapeños I was a bit worried, but they're actually pickled jalapeños with other vegetables and they added such a fresh taste and nice bite I was very much pleasantly surprised. The dish was served with beans and rice both of which were also delicious nothing too much to say about them but very good sides. I definitely recommend this place, prices are actually low for food this good! Definitely stop by and try!"
