"This restaurant has been in business for decades but somehow I only recently got around to trying it at the suggestion of the owner of my favorite wine shop. I see no why he raved about it. Everything was very tasty arrived promptly and hot. (The Gambas were still sizzling in the cast iron skillet in which they were served. The Espinacas (spinach with pine nuts and Setas (mushroom with duck egg were especially delicious. Most of the menu are Raciones, which are like Tapas but large enough to share. Three of those plus one Plato were enough for two people and left room for dessert. If you order everything at once it will come out all at once, so either order a bit at a time or be explicit about your preferences for courses. The wine list is one of the largest I've seen and mostly from Rioja which goes well with the food. The place is not cheap but is good value for the quality on offer."

"Yesterday, my wife and I celebrated our 8th anniversary by trying out a new restaurant. First of all, the customer service was excellent, and the ambiance of the place was fantastic. The food was enjoyable as well. When dining out, I always look for creativity, taste, and value. However, I found the concept a bit confusing; is it Mediterranean cuisine? When I made the reservation, I was particularly interested in the Mediterranean theme. Yet, the menu didn't feature many traditional Mediterranean dishes. I understand that Spain has a Mediterranean culinary heritage, but I was a bit puzzled by the flavor combinations, especially with the addition of Puerto Rican influences. Don't get me wrong; the food was truly amazing, but I was hoping for more of the Mediterranean flavors I was expecting."

"The food was outstanding and our waiter was very good however I have two points of contention . The first is I requested “stadium style seating”. The response was they could not promise to seat us on the upper level. I was not concerned until we arrived for our 4:45pm reservation and noticed openings on the upper level. This begs the question…if you can’t promise a particular seating area and my party of four arrived first…why then we’re we not able to sit there? The second really petty issue had to do with my request for a second small dish of olives. The waiter said, “I’ll see what I can do”. When it didn’t arrive I asked about it and the response was the olives were portioned out . I have to tell you, it was a real annoyance. When you consider the total cost of our dinners plus wine and dessert…these two issues did not add up to a sincere effort to accommodate your customers."

"The sandwiches and sushi here are truly incredible! We asked our waitress for her recommendations, and she suggested several options, including a few sandwiches. The sandwich that I think was called "the best sandwich ever" definitely lived up to its name, and the steak sushi roll was fantastic—something I've never experienced before. "Anniversary dinner with our two children, 8 and 10. We decided to sit out on the porch on a fairly humid June evening and the ceiling fans made for a nice breeze. We find most of the restaurants are overly air-conditioned, but Metro 8 didn't seem like a fridge even when we came in - that's a big plus for me! Our waitress was very nice and attentive without interfering. She noted that it was nice to see kids with books (and math in our conversation) instead of iPads. The steaks my husband and I ordered were as stated and delicious. So were the pages. Our girls loved their grilled chicken. Cocktails were good and just the right strength. Highly recommended."

"Individual from Southern California I was not expecting the Mexican food in Chicago to be this good. The passion fruit ceviche was great and the tacos were really yummy. We got the carne asada and the pastor tacos. The salsa just wasn't really that spicy which was kind of a shame. Even the ghost pepper one that they said was supposed to be really really hot just really was lacking. I would just go for the tomatillo because that was really great. The habanero Margarita was actually quite good and asked for it extra spicy. The flan was just mediocre. Would for sure go back for the tacos."

"Wow! This restaurant is a wonderful, cozy spot that is very welcoming. The food was incredible. My brother came in from out of town and we decided to try somewhere new. We ordered the mixed grill and we were not disappointed. Everything was perfectly authentic, fresh, and delicious. The kofta had just the right amount of spiciness. Everything else was flavorful and tender. We ended our meal with baklava and chai. They also have a great bar selection. It's a great place to have a private, intimate meal. I truly wish I knew about this place sooner."

"The hot humus one of the taste in the world that I will never forget. It is like Tiramisu I had in an Italian restaurant in NY and chocolate Baklava I had in Bolvadin-Turkey. It is one of a kind you have to try. Adana Kebap also so delicious. Quality of the meet is excellent as well as the taste. The puffy bread has black and white sessamee on it and sooo delicious. I can't wait to go and try again and again. The service is at personal level and very warm."

"Our first time eating here, and I will say it was surprisingly nice experience. They start off with such a generous portion of pita bread with olive oil/olives. We also had a starter of spicy feta, we all loved it! I would highly recommend the spicy feta if you are a fan of spicy foods. We were indecisive as far as what to order for our entree but our waitress helped and told us to order the meat platter, as if would definitely be enough for the 3 of us with leftovers for takeaway. (She was right). The chicken was juicy and very tasty, gyro was ok, a bit on the dryer side and the bifteki was juicy and full of flavor. We had a side of Greek Fries (recommended) and spinach and rice. Totally worth the $40. We finished up with Greek coffee and baklava, both very tasty and baklava was not too sweet, which we appreciated. Now the service was a bit off, waitress was slammed with tables and seemed to be the only person taking orders, and was completely overwhelmed. The manager/owner was out helping but they were definitely short staffed. I would definitely still recommend the restaurant and come back again."

"The interior design of the place is very pretty but that’s about it. The service was HORRIBLE to say the least. After everyone arrived we waited about half an hour for the waiter to introduce himself to the table. He took our drinks order and said he would be back shortly for the food order. Another half hour goes by and we didn’t get the drinks yet and never saw the waiter again the entire night. Grabbing the other wait staff’s attention was extremely difficult, some straight up ignored us leaving me to believe that they purposely did so because everyone in my party is young.After finally getting a waiter to take our food order, she said that the pasta was going to come out in 15 minutes or so and the paella and salt baked fish was going to take longer, which is understandable. However, about an hour went by and we still didn’t see any of the food yet. The place wasn’t even that busy. We were then jumping through hoops to try to get someone’s attention again and finally they went to check up on the food. From the time we were seated to seeing the actual food on our table, we waited about TWO HOURS and NOBODY even came to check up on us. We came here for my birthday and it was hands down the WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE EVER.PS: the food was mediocre. Only come here for the pictures and even then I don’t think it’s worth it for the bad experience."

"Have eaten here several times. Was surprised that with a reservation we were still sitting at a booth looking into the kitchen. We could have asked to be moved, but we didn't want to. The waiter was very enthusiastic, but failed to fill glasses of water without being asked. My husband's lasagna was a huge brick in the middle of an unadorned plate. A little salad or something green and crispy would have been nice. Not an à la carte fan, especially when it comes to the price of the main course alone. The room was very dark and a bit noisy. I would ask not to sit in this area another time."

"Closest thing I?ve found to a traditional Japanese sushi joint in LA (I lived in Tokyo for a couple years). Sushi was fresh and delicious. The range of fish options was better than what you?ll find at Nobu for example. Menu is all sushi, either nigiri orhand rolls with one or two exceptions, and then of course miso, edamame, etc. You won?t find spider rolls, California rolls,etc. Vibe is understated. Come here for the sushi and the service, not the decor. It?s expensive but that?s what you?d expectin LA. It?s not cheap to fly all that fish in from Tokyo every day! You can go for the omakase option which is $220?250/person.We ordered a la carte and spent about $100/person without drinks."

"Overall, the food here was incredibly delicious. Since we had never tried Central Asian cuisine before, we ordered a variety of dishes! While some items could have used a little more salt, the overall seasoning was fantastic. The Plov wasn't as impressive, but the Chicken Tabaka and lamb chops were outstanding. Don't miss out on the roasted potatoes—they're packed with flavor and absolutely delicious! Their pierogis are also the best I've had in quite a while; I couldn’t stop reaching for them. The restaurant has a small, cozy atmosphere, and the staff is friendly, although a bit on the slow side when it comes to service. We found ourselves frequently asking for water refills and had to signal a staff member for assistance, as they didn’t check in with us regularly. Despite this, they were very kind, just not very attentive. We'll definitely return because the food is out of this world!"
