"We had a bit of sticker shock since the bill was considerably higher then it was the last time we were there a couple of years ago, but if you have $400 to spend on a dinner for two, Spruce is a good place to do it! The ambience is elegant, the food delicious, and the service extraordinary. The servers at Spruce are nothing short of psychic. They know exactly what you need and when you need it. They don't hover but they're always there at exactly the right time. Our server, Breanne (total guess to the spelling! , added to that an element of fun. She knew it was a special occasion and figured it out that this is something we can't afford to do very often. Not only did she describe all of the dishes, enabling us to make an educated decision including ordering a dish we never would have thought to order had she not suggested it. As we were finishing that particular dish, she asked us if we had enough bread to sop up the sauce. We normally would not have done anything so gouche at so classy a restaurant, but with her explicit suggestion we dug in and didn't leave a drop of that delicious sauce behind. They also treated us to a couple of extra appetizers on the house and after we payed the check, brought out an array of little treats, telling us to help ourselves. We were full, so we asked if we could take home an assortment and they gave us one of each to enjoy later. Completely unexpected, it topped off a perfect evening. If you have something to celebrate, and want to splurge on a perfect dining experience, I can't think of a better place to do it!"
