"Celebrating my fiancés birthday with another couple. Upon our reservation we were taken to sit in the entry way of the restaurant. I asked the hostess to be seated in the main restaurant and was told there is no availability only for large groups (there were tables set up for persons) she then said we welcomed to seat outside in the garden then later returned to say that was booked. I began to feel we were being discriminated against so I asked for the manager. She then said well to seat inside will have a spending minimum per person, and the only place my party (with reservations) can seat is at the entry way by the host booth. there were so many versions to her story. I demanded a manager! After of BS an discriminatory treatment the manager arrives and seats us in the main restaurant, you know the same area that was for “large parties oh I meant with a minimum purchase per person) Now, the service was poor tho the waiter was respectful. He wasn’t aware of the menu (very small) not able to make any recommendations without checking with some else or reading the menu to us, we can do that ourselves. He wasn’t attentive to our table. As for the food and drinks, the bartender was excellent (clearly we needed great drinks after all this mess). If anyone deserved a tip or service charge would’ve been the bartender As for the food, the chef did a good job with preparation, the issue is the portions are small and the sides are very, very limited! Choice of broccoli or asparagus with steak no starch! As for the dessert, I reserved as a birthday celebration and that I would have wanted a nice dessert option. When I first arrived, before the seating BS, the host told me to let my server know which dessert pie or cake I wanted and they’ll bring it out with sparkles to sing happy birthday. The server told me that all they had was Greek ice cream Poor service, lack of professionalism, over-priced small menu!"

"I love Torraku Ramen, it's so convenient...I can't believe how such delicious vegan ramen is made in a tiny little food truck. The employees are so friendly and always accommodating to my diet/requests. I believe this Torraku location offers at least three vegan options, but my absolute favorite is the vegan curry ramen, it is PHENOMENAL!!! But note, they actually do not have the vegan curry ramen on the menu, I only knew about this option from the other Torraku Ramen truck during the Very Vegan Sunday days. However, they make this off the menu item for me upon request...but they always give me a hard time about it, LOL. They should seriously add it to their menu! The ramen comes with vegan fake meat and (extra soft) tofu, but I'm not a vegan who eats much of that stuff and I prefer veggies. Torraku has always been great about this and they always offer to add veggies in place of the fake meats tofu, I generally add cabbage. Overall, the broth is thick and spiced well, the noodles are delicious, and the veggies are cooked perfectly. I could actually drink the broth all day and be happy. I love this place, it's soooooooo good. Updated from previous review on 2019-02-02 This is the best place to get ramen in San Francisco. The employees are so friendly and always accommodating to my diet/requests. Generally, Torraku offers at least one vegan option every day, but on Very Vegan Sunday they offer four. I love this place more than T's Tan Tan in Tokyo, it's soooooooo good."
