"We showed up 15 minutes before our reservation time, and never got as far as talking to the hostess. The lobby was crowded with other reservations from hours previous and walk-ins. Whoever the hostess was never came to the front in the hour we stood there. Nobody was sat while we stood there. There were waitstaff cashing out tables, but not one person addressed the crowd. They didn't have a system in place to manage their influx load. They should have sat reservations only--that's why people make reservations--and turned the rest of the crowd away or offered carry out. If you're understaffed, short staffed, or overwhelmed that's all the more reason to adhere to a reservation status. Get organized, because all you're going to do is turn-off customers to coming back. We would understand being turned away for not having a reservation. We dont understand why you would have a reservation system and not use it."

"I tried it once more after we went once a very long time ago when they first opened and we?re not impressed. It was even worse this time. $10 ?Kani salad? that was not only the smallest of portions but just simply was some sliced cucumber and imitation crab and made at all like a traditional kani. But I was shocked at the size for $10. The baked avocado also was small and slapped together and a mess when I opened it. So an $11 avocado with imitation crab and Mayo. Then the yellow tail collar was flavorless and dry (so shocking because it?s difficult to do a collar poorly, it?s such a delicate tasty cut). When we went before we had the ?hamachi rice? which was terrible. We love places like Eurasia, Kome, and Otoko is just incredible, and I don?t mind spending money on good food, but even spending $40 on a terrible meal is just not ok. If you can?t make the basic things right for just quick lunch, I can?t imagine the rest."

"I dined here on my birthday, and it was a disappointing experience. My meal was overcooked and excessively salted, which I had to share with strangers at the table. As it was my birthday dinner and I was the one paying, I expected better service. However, the chef seemed indifferent, only engaging with me to make lame jokes. He prioritized serving a guest who was getting a complimentary meal, giving him half of a dish meant for three. When I took a bite of my food, I noticed a staff member watching me and laughing, which made me uncomfortable. The dish was overwhelmingly salty, leaving me with a bloated stomach and a headache. I felt it was necessary to say a prayer before eating here. In the end, there was no complete refund offered, leaving me with a bill of $130 for a meal I couldn’t eat—strangers ended up enjoying it instead. Happy birthday to me!"

"Very sad to see what was a wonderful dinning establishment go down. They serve under cooked food and even when brought to the managers attention they dismissed it. The cook was upset we had something to say then in return he threw hot food from the grill onto my 6 year old. Took over 30 mins just to get someone to our grill where we sat and they were not busy at all!.. asked for water refills more then 4xs and never got a refill. I would of given them a 5 star not even a few months back now I wish there was a less the 1.. Only 1/2 the staff are masked and this used to be a wonderful place to be. Not sure of the changes being made but deff not worth eating or dinning here."

"A favorite of ours ever since it opened. This visit did not disappoint. We were introduced to gyoza appetizers here many years ago, and they still are the best of any we’ve had any place else we order them. I usually get sushi but thought I’d try the Pad Thai. I didn’t like it and will get sushi next time."

"The highlights. The food was fantastic. Party of 2, we did omakase sake pairing a few additional menu choices. Everything was very good or better. I probably wouldn’t do the sake pairing again but it was good, there were just other, better, imo choices. The flow of the staff was consistent and attentive. That said many were just going through the paces. Our main server clearly didn’t have much, if any prior food service experience, or training, which for this style, reputation and price point is pretty disappointing. Which leads me to the next negative. Cleanliness. For those that balk at the “if I’m spending” statement I apologize but we’ll just have to agree to disagree. If I’m spending over 700 on dinner for 2 it’s my belief that my server shouldn’t grab my water glass by the rim to refill it. That the tables and floors, walls and bathrooms, etc should be clean. Morimoto is not. It’s clean like a 30/plate chain restaurant clean but that’s the best I can say. There’s superfluous wiping, but nothing is clean and servers consistently go from clearing tables, picking up trash, etc. to serving food without wiping, washing, sanitizing, exercising any kind of basic food service hygiene procedures or training. The space itself is fantastic. The execution of the construction is hurried but acceptable (speaking as someone who has built out several high end restaurants) but the design elements and theme are gorgeous. My hats off to the architects snd designers, a job very well done. Would we return? Maybe. Sit at the counter, try a different tact with the menu, assume we get a different server (who was, to her credit unfailingly pleasant, just poorly trained or not suited for high end food service)? Maybe. There are other very good omakase choices in Philly that are without question better per /spent. All in all a pleasant evening, I would just say that almost every 750 meal for 2 I have experienced was better."

"Went to the Hewlett location. Not sure what all the rave reviews are about. We were greeted and brought to our table by a pleasant host and thats where the good vibes ended. Im sorry-you're in a shopping center charging $20 for a mixed drink? Not sure who our server was but we had two or three people come over to our table in a hurry within minutes of each other asking us for our order. It was our first time, I was busy chatting with my friend who I hadn’t seen in a while and trying to figure out the menu that, for the most part, had no descriptions. Having food allergies, this is pretty important to me and it was a weekday and not busy so not sure what the rush was. The food came within 3 minutes (definitely not carefully prepared by a sushi chef) and was good but nothing spectacular. One of the rolls was not what we ordered but when we tried to ask them to describe what was brought to us each one of the servers seemed to not understand us. Had to ask for water. Bill was $160 for 2 people. Will not be back."

"This restaurant offers a refreshing change from the heavily seasoned dishes found at other popular restaurants in Durham. The nigiri omakase is a carefully curated and indulgent experience, starting with clean and textural pieces that gradually become more playful before culminating in a delightful crescendo. The timing and pacing of the meal are impeccable. While sitting at the bar provides a fun behind-the-scenes look, the noise from other diners may drown out some of the chef's descriptions. A visit here is perfect for anyone looking to treat themselves, their loved ones, or friends to a memorable dining experience."

"I've been here twice before and I'm not sure if this Rhoda visit wasn't that great because I wasn't high like I usually am lol. But the calamari appetizer was sooooo dry. Overcooked! The lobster pad Thai tasted like straight bell peppers. The chicken wings were bland no flavor. And my ginger ale tasted like toilet water. I never tasted toilet water, but from smelling it I'm pretty sure that's what the ginger ale tasted like. But the ambiance is always nice and sexy. Musics wasn't too loud. Me and my girls went for a birthday dinner. But it sucks to spend all of this money for mediocre food."

"The place was excellent, and the food was good. My only complaint was the restaurant was cold. The doors that they open up during summer days need some TLC; the cold draft could be felt a table away. Besides that, I would go back again and just dress warmer if you sit at the front of the restaurant."

"Tony was our server and honestly, one of the best servers I have EVER had at any restaurant establishment. He was super personable and bent over backwards to help. He was a great instructor and guide. We also were pleasantly surprised as we enjoyed the music as well as the fact we were quickly ushered to our table. I give the BBQ experience a 12/10 pineapples (yes, we are in Charleston after all) rating. BTW, you must try the grilled pineapples. Check this place out — you will not regret it."

"Located behind Trader Joe's I believed this restaurant was closed there is empty beer cans in the landscaping around the restaurant and it's outside appearance is very run down. We ordered take out online two roll special and general tso chicken. We already paid or we may have turned around. The inside of the restaurant is about the same as the outside very run down and it was completely empty during lunch hour. The two rolls of yellow tail and tuna avocado were fine the miso soup tasted microwaved and the general tso chicken was chicken tenders rolled around in sauce. We were Not impressed and won't be back They do take credit card and have ample parking"

"This small and cozy Asian fusion restaurant offers a warm atmosphere and friendly service. The lunch specials are incredibly affordable, especially for New York. Just remember to place your order by 11:30 AM; otherwise, you might face a long wait."

"Such a wonderful experience! We chose to be seated in the regular indoor seating. They also offer Teppanyaki which looked great. Our order included some sake bombs, egg rolls, sushi, chicken friend rice, and sesame chicken. Not a single complaint! It wasall delicious ???? My partner had the Rainbow sushi which was fresh and well made. I enjoyed the egg rolls as an appetizer withleftovers to take home. My entree was chicken fried rice which was a decent serving with plenty to take home. My partner enjoythe sesame chicken which included broccoli. There was leftovers to take home. We also enjoyed some sake bombs, as is expected????"
