"Tried Colonna?s Pizza today. Let?s start with one of the owners, Zoe. Her personality and attitude to serve is top notch. Absolutely a joy to be around. Tried the meatball sub with fries. The sub was very good, wonderful sauce and the all beef meatballs were killer. The fries with the sub were very meh. I would avoid the fries and see if there was another option. The knots were okay, nothing to make me drive across town for but again the sauce was very good. My sons pizza was very good and nicely made. I questioned his choice of adding the steamed spinach to a bbq chicken pizza but it actually worked. Also ordered a GF veggie deluxe pizza with chicken to go. My wife stated that ?It?s the best gf crust I have ever tasted!? So I guess that?s a keeper. Overall, very good. Highly recommend!!"

"My work crew came here for dinner this past Friday and it was the most fun meal experience ive probably ever had. Great place for special occasion/memorable evening with friends or coworkers. The bartender was the best and our server was really sweet and wanted to make sure we knew what we were ordering etc. WHAT TO KNOW: Come with patience and a sense of humor and adventure. We tried all kinds of things, some we liked, some we didn’t, but I knew it would be like that going in. Make sure to order a drink at the bar when you get there and bring it to your table, then order another round as soon as you sit down, or you’ll have a big gap between your first and second drink (lots of places are like this so NBD). What to order: for drinks, ask for the special color changing cocktail with the sweet pea/cucumber infused vodka and soda. It was AMAZING. The dill Infused vodka with the salmon caviar was recommended by our server and was a perfect combo. The BORSCH!!! So good!! I want some now!! The khinkali dumplings were so yummy AND very instagrammable. The julienne was also really good. The stroganoff was kind of tough so I’d skip that, but other folks liked it. That’s something I make regularly at home so I may be a little partial to my own recipe. All in all, it was the BEST meal experience and my group could not stop talking about it."

"I ordered online and an extra pizza was added by mistake. I immediately called the restaurant and was told 'take it up with the app, we can 't refund you. ' I had been sent an email from 'John 's of Arthur Ave ', I was directed to their site to place the order, and on the email verification it says call the restaurant for any help. I asked if they would cancel the order and the charge and I will re order, again was told 'not our problem '. When I looked back at the email I realized it came from CHOW NOW there is no way to call them they are California based and you have to email. I emailed support and someone did respond and asked for the case number but nothing else. The food did arrive, but late and cold I guess this was John 's employees way of 'sticking it to the customer '. This is also the last time I will be ordering from them or going to the restaurant. You win John 's thanks for being an A about it. All I wanted was some help in removing an unintended item that was ordered and you decide to deliver cold, late food awesome!"

"My wife and I met some friends for dinner last weekend at J. Christophers. It was our first time to visit since the local favorite re opened under new management. After reading all of the negative comments, we have been hesitant to visit. But, after actually going there I can report that we found all of the negative comments baseless. We had a wonderful evening, enjoying some of the traditional flavors that made J. Christophers a local favorite, and equally enjoying some of the new dishes. The meal started with an order of focaccia that was amazing. Even though it was complimentary, we would gladly have paid for an extra serving or two. We started with the Arancini and fried zucchini one new dish, one old. Both were outstanding. The Arancini and marinara sauce were as good as we have had anywhere. The zucchini was lightly breaded and cooked just right. We then decided to order a number of entrées to again sample some of the old dishes alongside some of the new. We ordered a thin crust pizza that we are happy to report is just as good as any pizza we have had a J. Christophers over the past 30 years of dining there. No new flavors, no new techniques, but the same pizza that has made this place a local favorite. We also ordered the Truffle Gnocchi, the Pappardelle Bolognese, and the Cacio e Pepe. All three dishes blew us away. They were as good or better than you can get at far pricier restaurants in Houston and better than most of the pasta dishes prior to the re launch. And the new décor and wait staff were both a key to making our dining experience fully satisfying. We can not recommend strongly enough to ignore the noise on social media and give J. Christopher's a try. We will definitely be back."

"If I could give this place zero stars, I definitely would. First of all, it took an incredibly long time to receive anything. The service was painfully slow. The dish I ordered was terrible; it was just a bowl of soup with no flavor whatsoever. Considering the price, it simply wasn't worth it. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. The appetizer took ages to arrive and we ended up getting it at the same time as our main course."

"Not one to leave bad reviews, as many small, local businesses thrive on word-of-mouth? but here goes; The restaurant is cute, well-presented. But it was absolutely freezing! Our (male) server was very un-attentive, having to ask for water refills and wasn?t until 45 minutes into our 2.5 hour wait, did we receive our app, then fresh bread, then salads. Then an hour after that did we get our entrees. The only other waiter was great and she made sure we were getting our items. It is made-to-order style, which is nice and different from American ways, but if you are looking for a prompt meal, this is NOT your place. It is very LONG to get ANYTHING. Most important- the food. We are huge foodies and enjoy finding unique places to eat, needless to say, it isn?t great, only ok at best. However, my sons lobster special was delicious. The wait would have been worth it if the food was a knock-out. Disappointing that the food was not very good for the price and wait. Sorry, just won?t be back, but wish y?all the best!"

"I went to the restaurant with my son for lunch. The seating area was clean, the staff was nice, but the chairs were not comfortable with my little one, they wished cabins. "The food and service are great! Visited The Med again tonight 6/2/23. They were BUSY! The food and service were still great! I have 8 to 10 favorites on the menu. Tonight was the ribeye special. Wow! When craving steak, I've been ordering the filet because it is sooo good. But geez, the ribeye deserves respect along with the salmon, tuna, lamb chops, and, last but not least, the broiled shrimp. "This restaurant is vastly overpriced, and the food is quite mediocre overall. The gumbo was enjoyable, which was really the only dish I found appealing. I noticed that the vinyl was peeling off every chair I saw, which gave a shabby impression. They seem to be aiming for fine dining but are falling short. The server was somewhat reserved, which didn't enhance my experience. I can be surly and grumpy at home, but when I go out to eat, I expect good food and excellent service. We paid nearly the same for entrees at a restaurant with a view of Jackson Square in New Orleans. This place could really benefit from Gordon Ramsay's expertise. It seems like there aren't many restaurant options in the area, but if this is the best available, it might be worth the drive to Baton Rouge instead."
