"El Fresco Mexican Grill is a fast food dine in/take out restaurant. I 'm from out-of-state visiting Alexandria, VA for the first time and for some reason I started to crave Tilapia. I typed fried tilapia in the search box and found this joint on the list, which is very close to where I was staying. They didn 't have fried tilapia, but they had a healthier alternative. I ordered the Grilled Tilapia Platter, plus an additional piece of fish over the phone for pick-up. Got there early and decided to get some salsa from the self-serve salsa bar. At first, I thought the grilled fish fillets were bland until I realized that the sauce, grated cheese, veggies, and tortilla were in separate containers. I added the different kinds of salsa, lime, and all the other ingredients onto the fish, which made it amazing! I was impressed by the freshness, abundance, and value of the food and the cleanliness of the restaurant. The variety of salsas were well made. The Fish Platter came with 2 large tilapia filets, a side of beans and rice, about 4 pieces of tortilla, 2 ripe slices of avocado, and the rest mentioned above. I only paid about $15 and there was enough food to serve 2 or for one large meal. This is the place to go when you 're craving fast, healthy, fresh, and tasty Mexican food. Not greasy.
