"The noodles they used were thin and subpar, lacking the wide, tender, and chewy texture characteristic of good rice noodles. In fact, they seemed more like dehydrated fettuccine than rice noodles. They were undercooked, stuck together, and lacked even the slightest char from a wok. I ordered it spicy (5 out of 5), but it was anything but hot. There were no Thai chilis in sight or taste, and all I could detect was black pepper. The sauce was thin, bland, and only vaguely sweet; it bore no resemblance to any soy sauce I’ve had before. The fried tofu was tasteless and overcooked, while the broccoli looked like it had been steamed rather than stir-fried, lacking any caramelization or flavor. The small amount of egg included was cooked fine, but ended up soggy from the excess pepper water. I'm not a Thai food expert, but it seems to me that this restaurant could benefit from sourcing better rice noodles, using Thai chilis instead of black pepper, properly marinating and frying the tofu, thickening and adjusting their sauce recipe, and using a hot wok to char the noodles, broccoli, tofu, and egg properly. I might try to finish the broccoli, but I’ll be tossing the rest. It's disappointing for such a straightforward dish, especially at a price of $16.50 after tax. Edit: At first glance, the reviews for this restaurant seemed mostly positive, leading me to believe my experience might have been an isolated incident. However, as I scrolled through, I found that the majority of reviews are, in fact, overwhelmingly negative and have been for some time. There seems to be something suspicious about their overall star rating, which does not align with the actual feedback. It's apparent that this restaurant isn’t responding to the feedback they’ve received. The food simply isn’t good, and they don’t seem to care."

"Our server was pushy but then she forgot about us. She came to our table 30 seconds after we sat down when he told her that he needed an extra min, she huffed said oh i'll get your order when I come back with her wine. She came back with the wine and asked, well have you made a decision? He told her some beer a tall. She came back with a short and mentioned that the tall glasses were all dirty and you will get this and a partial. She had started to walk away when we waved her back and told her that we wanted to order an app. when she came back with the app, we told her that we wanted to order. I ordered the pad thai and she asked how spicy do you want it I said, I want nothing with spicy, I get sick. She said yeah, yeah I get it. My Husband asked if the duck curry had a lot of tomatoes in it, she said no, not a lot. That dish doesn't have any in it. We then waited 30 minutes for our food; I would understand if the restaurant was busy.... but it was not. I also had a clear shot of the bar and I noticed her behind the bar messing with liquor bottles. When we actually received our food it was warm to the touch (on the top) but when you stirred the dish it was hot underneath (probably sitting under a heat lamp). Remember when I mentioned that I couldn't have spice... well there was something spicy in the dish and I couldn't eat it. She never came back to ask, how is the food or can I get you a replacement on those drinks. She was HORRIBLE!! She dropped off the bill, when my husband was still eating and said no rush. She then came back 5 minutes later and said Can I get anything off the table LIKE THE BILL! and when I told her no, we are not DONE, she walked away in a puff again. I waved the host over to speak with a manager, she refused to get one and all she wanted to do is comp our meal. Not sure we will be back."

"This was, without question, the worst dining experience I (or anyone else in our party) have ever had. While I recognize the fact that we were dining on the evening of the Rolling Stones concert in downtown Minneapolis, we made a 6:00 reservation 2 weeks ahead of the concert, arrived on time, and had to chase someone down to even get seated. Once seated, we were ignored for more than 15 minutes before we asked politely for printed menus (and got an extremely annoyed reaction from the server). It was at least another 15 minutes before we waved down our server again and asked if we could order (note we still did not even have water, now 30 minutes in). After placing our orders, NOTHING happened for another 30 MINUTES until I finally walked up to the bar, found our server, and asked where our drinks were. So it took MORE THAN AN HOUR to get water and an order of drinks delivered to our table. About 15 minutes later, our appetizer and entrees showed up almost simultaneously. The food was not only cold, but it was awful. My Pad Thai was flavorless and bland (even though I ordered it spicy), my wife's entree was almost inedibly salty. This was, bar none the worst experience we've ever had in a restaurant, and the first time in my life I've left $0 tip. I do understand it was a busy night for them. But they were so horribly overmatched, that the restaurant could not even function. This is the management's fault if you can't serve so many patrons, DON'T LET THEM IN THE DOOR. And don't screw your customers who go out of their way to make a reservation by allowing far more walk ins than you are able to serve into your restaurant. We will NEVER return, and recommend that you don't either."

"My partner and I were so excited to come eat at Sawatdee St. Cloud, now under management and ownership of Annie and Adrienne! We didn’t expect to sit down and enjoy the tastiest Thai food of our lives thus far. (Obviously we’ll be back for more! The atmosphere is super chill, vintage, and has personal style. The music was a sweet treat. Some nice Thai pop and smooth jazz. Sue’s Egg Rolls are the BEST egg rolls either of us have ever had. They were perfection. The fresh vegetarian spring rolls were amazing as well. The subtle chewiness of the wrap and noodles inside and the crunchiness of the fresh veggies, all ties together with the yummy semi-sweet peanut sauce for a deliciously light appetizer. We both got the Sweet Green Curry Chicken at a heat level 3/5. It was the perfect amount of spice for us. Grandma might prefer level 1. The rice was cooked to perfection and the curry was so flavorful and creamy. The veggies were soft but still had a delightful crunch to them. The chicken was tender and great quality as well. We finished the meal off with the Sawatdee Strawberry Sundae (also available in chocolate and caramel complete with chopped peanuts and their famous sweet sticky rice. This was the perfect way to cool our tongues after the delicious spiciness. Huge portion and amazing taste was worth the price. I was hesitant to try ice cream with rice but oh my goodness it is heaven in a bowl. Tl;dr: Quality fresh ingredients and perfected recipes make Sawatdee a St. Cloud MUST try- again and again and again."
