"The noodles they used were thin and subpar, lacking the wide, tender, and chewy texture characteristic of good rice noodles. In fact, they seemed more like dehydrated fettuccine than rice noodles. They were undercooked, stuck together, and lacked even the slightest char from a wok. I ordered it spicy (5 out of 5), but it was anything but hot. There were no Thai chilis in sight or taste, and all I could detect was black pepper. The sauce was thin, bland, and only vaguely sweet; it bore no resemblance to any soy sauce I’ve had before. The fried tofu was tasteless and overcooked, while the broccoli looked like it had been steamed rather than stir-fried, lacking any caramelization or flavor. The small amount of egg included was cooked fine, but ended up soggy from the excess pepper water. I'm not a Thai food expert, but it seems to me that this restaurant could benefit from sourcing better rice noodles, using Thai chilis instead of black pepper, properly marinating and frying the tofu, thickening and adjusting their sauce recipe, and using a hot wok to char the noodles, broccoli, tofu, and egg properly. I might try to finish the broccoli, but I’ll be tossing the rest. It's disappointing for such a straightforward dish, especially at a price of $16.50 after tax. Edit: At first glance, the reviews for this restaurant seemed mostly positive, leading me to believe my experience might have been an isolated incident. However, as I scrolled through, I found that the majority of reviews are, in fact, overwhelmingly negative and have been for some time. There seems to be something suspicious about their overall star rating, which does not align with the actual feedback. It's apparent that this restaurant isn’t responding to the feedback they’ve received. The food simply isn’t good, and they don’t seem to care."

Always love dining at this location (St. Paul). The food is delicious! The staff is amazing- friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Street parking- but we never seem to have an issue finding a spot. A gem.

Enjoyed our VCalentine Dinner at Sawatdi. Food was delicious. Was understaffed for the volume of guests. The server was swamped but very pleasant to her customers. Dining room could use some enhancements if it is trying to compete on basis of ambiance.

Accused of not paying for our food when we picked up our takeout order tonight. We HAD to pay online in advance of placing our order, so that wasn’t even possible. Comment was directed at my partner (black male) by an Asian woman on staff who was yelling across the restaurant. Food was great but that was a hell of a meet and greet and a first for us. I won’t tip in advance anymore. View menu

The food was just average, even though the menu offered appealing options. The ambiance was below par and didn't match the pictures on the website. It was quite hot inside, and I started to sweat after just 20 minutes. On the plus side, the service was quick, but there were only about eight guests in total. They also served sauces in to-go plastic cups, which was a bit disappointing.

We ordered the Thai for two, which comes with a bottle of wine, and specifically requested a sweet red wine with no extra charge. Instead, we were served a dry white wine. Our server seemed inexperienced and was unsure of what to recommend. To top it off, all the shades were drawn on an already gloomy rainy evening, which really added to the disappointing atmosphere. Overall, it was quite a letdown.

I ordered takeout and prepaid online. Host had a bit of an attitude; he made me sign credit card receipt but it turns out he was only to try to get me to tip (on a takeout order), as he very openly threw the receipt away after I didn't tip. That just came across as tacky and petty.Cream cheese rangoon was tasty but pad thai was extremely dry and not the most flavorful.I get takeout here because it's on the walk from work back to my hotel. That would be my only reason to eat here again. If I was mobile or wasn't in the immediate area already, I'd definitely look for a better Thai restaurant.

The food is amazing and the flavors of the sauces in all their dishes are spot on. The appetizer platter (2 wantons, 1 egg roll 2 sarongs), 2 entrees, a dessert and 2 glasses of wine special for $48 per couple can't be beat. The service is always mediocre. Tonight the hostess called in sick so they had 1 bar tender 2 servers. While it seemed slow, we weren't in any rush and we were in and out on Valentine's Day in 75 Minutes which I would say is very fast. Tonight the service was par for the course and has never been stellar but the food is great, prices are great and it is in a great location with easy parking. Our server was lovely, joked, apologized for delay in getting us our water/order...
