"Tasty, fresh, and authentic Guatemalan food! Ordered carryout from the restaurant to skip Grubhub, and it was ready when they said it would be. Everything was fresh and piping hot. The dining room was cozy and spotless, they mentioned returning to indoor dining at 20% capacity. Mask policy signs were up and sanitizer was at the door. Pupusas were some of the best i've had, large and packed with fillings. The revuelta pupusa was tasty, and the bean cheese pupusa was a great vegetarian option, as is the antojito sampler. The pulique beef stew was perfect for a snowy January day, as were the hot plantain and corn atole drinks. BryAnna's definitely fulfilled our craving for homestyle Guatemalan food, and then some! Looking forward to dining in sometime and trying all the various specialties."

"We have been supporting this establishment for almost 10 plus yrs now but never felt disrespected the way we did today. We went to have dinner this evening (me my wife and my 2 kids) my 4 yo daughter who has some GI issues and doesn 't really eat much there (due to lack of options for her) had her own food with her to eat so the rest of us can sit down and eat. Rather then accepting the business from 3 people they asked us to leave stating no outside food is allowed. We explained the reasons why we had the food with us and that 3/4 will be ordering but they declined our business and took the menus off the table after we were already seated. Not a good look for what we once deemed as one of the best in the area. Perhaps a quick thinking or insight as to why somebody would bring their own food to a establishment been helpful but alas! Needless to say we will never step a foot in that restaurant."

"We chose this restaurant because we heard it accepted Long Beach Local Cash, but after we finished our meal, the server informed us they didn't accept it. However, when we contacted the city, they confirmed that the restaurant is indeed part of the program. It was very disappointing to feel like we were overcharged for what we ate. I also noticed a couple seated next to us who complained about their bill as well. I cannot recommend this place."

"I have to give this restaurant a full 5 stars because I truly can’t find anything to criticize about my experience. The food is outstanding with amazing flavors. The chips and dips are delicious, and the prices are quite reasonable. If you enjoy spicy food like I do, you'll be pleased to find some incredibly spicy hot sauces on the menu. The service is fast and incredibly friendly! This time, I tried the Carne Asada Tacos, and they were excellent. The restaurant is spacious, and the portion sizes are generous, making it impossible to leave disappointed."

"La Escondida is a great place to get great Mexican food. It was my first time to eat here and the food was superb!! I ordered the fajita chicken enchiladas and they were super delicious!! In addition to the red sauce they bring out with the complimentary chips, they also being out a small bowl of refried beans. Great tasting as well! The parking lot is shared with other business establishments so it is spacious and it does get full pretty fast. The prices for the meals are competitive to other Mexican restaurants as well. I highly recommend this place for your next meal!!"

"Everything we ordered was delicious. The fried yucca opened with a spicy aioli sauce that went nicely with a beer. The grilled blackened salmon was cooked perfectly, and came with nicely seasoned potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The grilled asparagus likewise was cooked perfectly and disappeared quickly. The Gambas a la Cazuela (shrimp in a white wine garlic sauce that is amazing) was probably the highlight, and required a little extra garlic bread to mop up. There’s some good eatin’ here. Go get you some."

"Get the carnitas! I know when you pull up to this place you wont think its special, it is kind of bleak looking on the outside but the inside is full of delicious and authentic Mexican food that'll smack you right in the face in a good way. I have never had a bad plate while eating here and the portions are HUGE, enough for at least 2 meals (for me . The flavors in every dish are superb and you can tell the food was made with good intensions and skill. Totally worth stopping in :"

"I received a written thank you note from someone just for an offhand recommendation they try it it’s that good. Great food and a cozy atmosphere, ok for a couple or a family but bring a crew and they really shine because the table can try most of the menu of small plates. If you’ve never had tapas be aware that each person can expect to order 2-3 small plates, don’t expect order one and be satisfied with portion size. The lamb chops (corderos) and chicken thighs are favorites, but really we’ve never had a bad dish. And if you’re on a date know that paella takes a long time to cook, so a romantic shared dish may end up a chain keeping you together if you run out of things to say. Prices are fairly reasonable and the service is friendly, but some servers have limited English. Definitely make reservations as it can be crowded especially on weekends. They have limited takeout for lunch but no idea about dinner as we’ve always dined in. Parking: There’s a huge Montgomery County public parking garage right across the street, and the restaurant is on a relatively quiet side street so there can be street parking available. It’s on the far end of Woodmont Triangle a 15 minute walk from Metrorail, or take the free circulator at least partway."

"The restaurant offers large portions at a reasonable price. The menu features a variety of options, including classic Mexican dishes, breakfast items, and American favorites. I didn't have a chance to try all the breakfast items, but I plan to in the future. I ordered the superburrito, which was delicious and filled with meat and fresh cilantro. My girlfriend had the torta, which was also generously filled. The only downside was that they forgot to include avocado and sour cream on the side for my girlfriend's order. Despite this, the service was quick, and we received our food within 10-15 minutes. Overall, a great dining experience."

"This little dive off of Truman hit the spot for me this past Wednesday afternoon. The Fish Tacos and the salsa were refreshing and hot and just enough, in other words excellent. Get the corn Tortilla, you wont regret it. I was not necessarily in a hurry but, this place is a reminder that life down in the Keys is a little slower and while the service was not terribly quick or attentive, the food was worth the wait. This is a great place to go for a quick bit reasonable prices and very nice folks. I will certainly be back. Parking: Parking is hit and miss in this area. I road a bike to this place and so I could tie it to any posts available."

"Great service!!! Very repectable and professional!!! The server explained the menu very well. The food was amazing!!! That the best oxtail in a while!!! Downside, it took a while to get our check and the server called me back in for the customer copy while it was right there on the table. Overall, I would definitely revisit this place!"
