"Our little happy accident turned out quite well! My husband and I initially planned to visit Serai across the street, but unfortunately, they were closed on Mondays. So, we decided to try this place instead, and we were not disappointed at all. Our meals were delicious and perfectly spiced. We started with the queso fundido, and I had the enchiladas with chorizo while my husband ordered the carne asada. The only minor critique he had was that his dish came with just a bit too much cactus. We also wished there had been more rice because it was so tasty! Even the refried beans were flavorful. Our waitress was very friendly, and our food arrived quickly. We would definitely order from here again!"

"My grandpa stopped in here a few times- a friend recommended but I wasn't really familiar with it till a buddy brought me with to pick up some food so I brought the old man back some. I asked for enchilas and mole but got chicken and mole with tamalesinstead. It's alright. It was fantastic. There was so much we both ate and had left overs. The tamales while plain were soft,fragrant, and perfect for dipping in mole. The chicken tender. Mole reminds me of my Nana's. I brought a guest just to try itonce and they were out of tamales but they loved the moles. I had white pozole on that cold day and it was really good. Richbroth. Tender meat. Fresh cabbage. Waitress recommended it. Also great coffee! Best time to go is the weekend before the crowdcomes in. The waitresses are very nice. Always tip!"

"This family owned restaurant has been around for a very long time and it's still a good restaurant to go have lunch or dinner. I just don't think that they are as good as they used to be years ago. The food is average at best and the service is good. The biggest thing that they concentrate on is the liquor, to be more specific Margaritas, a big money maker for them. The parking lot is dark as well as the outside of the building, most of the bulbs were burned out. The inside is decorated nicely, to give you the impression that you're in a place down in Mexico. For years they ruled Little Village and the Chicagoland area, but somewhere along the line lost it."

"The service was non existent. After we were seated, we did not have anyone come to our table until we finally stopped someone. The guys finally went to the bar to get drinks. It was cinco de mayo and they told us they had run out of avocados so there was no table side made guacamole. My girlfriend wanted a cheese quesadilla with black beans. We were told they do not serve black beans on the weekends???? Say what? There was plenty of staff at the restaurant but it seems like there was no organization. Our waitress acted like she could not be bothered with doing her job. We gave a 10% tip, a first for us to tip so low."

"I visited this restaurant for the first time, and it wasn't a great experience. My husband and I decided to have dinner since our usual spot closes at 9 PM, so we thought we'd try something new. I ordered paella, and he chose the guachinango a la Veracruzana. The only thing we enjoyed were the empanadas! My dish was decent but lacked flavor, while his fish had a really off taste on one side, almost like it was spoiled. He tried to eat from the other side, but it was inedible. When we mentioned it to the waitress, she said there was nothing she could do because the owner wasn't available. In hindsight, we should have checked the reviews beforehand, as it seems this place is known for poor experiences. I definitely won't be returning, and I chose not to leave a tip for the unsatisfactory service and food."

"I've been coming here for a while and I'm disappointed at who the new chef is. I always get baleadas from here because they're my favorite and last night was terrible. Instead of mashing the beans, they just cooked them and dumped the liquid that comes with the beans into the tortilla while some of the whole beans fell in. The cheese was bland, pretty much tasteless and when I spoke up about it, they took the food and charged me for it anyways. I've been here enough for them to know me by name, and they still did that. I paid it because I'd rather stay peaceful but, I'm never coming back again. Save your money, don't go here."
