"Went out for a Sunday brunch with a small group of 6. We made reservations a couple of weeks in advance on the advice of one of the members of our party. And all in all, it was a good, but not great experience We found out way through the Arlington neighborhoods until we came across Ruthies. A cute storefront just adjacent to an apartment complex. We were fortunate to find a parking spot out back and we 're able to marvel at the large offset Smokey out back which is always a positive sign for a restaurant. Upon checking in we started to realize the downside of this restaurant. The service. Poorly greeted by the hostesses and left to stand aimlessly in a overcrowded foyer area, we waited to be escorted to our table. We would have milled about outside, but unfortunately it was approximately 2000 degrees outside. After only a few minutes, we were escorted to our seats. The interior design was lovely and all of us were excited for our meal. The menus were unceremoniously handed to us and we began to peruse our options. Absolutely everything looked outstanding. The waiter came by as we were reviewing the choices and was visibly irritated when we asked for additional time. With a huff he turned on a heel and walked away. Ultimately I decided to try the Nice Salmon salad. Others tried the apple pie pancakes, the Ruthies Big Plate, the burger, and the brisket Bennie. My wife chose to have a collections of sides as a simple meal. I asked to have no egg and no potato crisp on my salad, but if possible, I desired extra anchovies. To which I received some fairly critical commentary from the waiter. seriously? Was actually stated. l. And then rolling of eyes. He was similarly taken aback my my wife 's orders. he was haughtily dismissive that we designed to tailor our choices. It was all I could do to not respond with a snippy retort to knock him down a peg So, having our palates soured by the entry into the meal our food was soon presented. Everything looked wonderful. The presentation was spot on. The apple pie pancakes looked like something right out of a confectioner 's dream. The burger was exclaimed to be the best burger ever by one who has had their share of burgers. The other row dishes were quickly devoured so it 's likely the commentary was limited given the voracious mess of the eating. The my salad was wonderful despite no egg, no crisps and with the extra anchovies . The salmon was cooked perfectly as well. So, to wrap this up Ruthies is a nice location for a meal. The food is above average on whole, with some particularly good selections. If they could work with their staff to make the expertise enjoyable on a human interaction level, it would certainly be a four star locale. Not going to hurry back anytime soon"

"For large parties, they always recommend a pre fixed menu. It was about $80 a person and you make your selections before your arrival. Menu: 1) Small Bites Cheese and Charcuterie platter, loved the variety for this board. Creamy and salty cheeses with cheese crackers, dried fruit and nuts. 2) Salads Chalk Hill Estate Greens, the pecorino and the citronette paired well with the greens 3) Pasta Strozzapreti with Gulf Shrimp, very lemony and fresh, I enjoyed this dish a lot. 4) Seafood Salmon. Celery root puree was yummy, enjoyed it more than the salmon. 5) Meat Cabernet Braised Short Rib. Loved the polenta and the flavors on this one. The horseradish was a nice touch. 6) Vegetables Sugar snap peas, just okay. Asparagus with vinaigrette, skippable. 7) Dessert Trio of dessert, enjoyed the Panna Cotta more than anything. The coconut ice cream was not bad. The chocolate cake was very rich and dense. For 18 people they brought about 4 plates of each item that we ordered. It was definitely more than enough food and we had so much food leftover. Service: The service was great. We had a large party and the family style was very accommodating. We had about 18 people in our party. We did not expect an automatic 25% gratuity though, so it was quite shocking. I thought usually the standard was 20%, but 25% was a bit steep. Overall, the food was just okay and for the price and gratuity we were paying, didn't feel like it was worth it. Maybe I'd come here again with a smaller party to try other dishes, but for large parties, it just wasn't for me."

"Basically the only place in Kitsap open for brunch on Sundays with decent vegan options! The tofu scramble has some tasty marinated tofu chunks with spinach and mushrooms, but I don’t like mushrooms so got them to sub in olives. They did charge me an extra $1 for that. It comes with perfectly cooked and steaming hash browns on the side and your choice of toast or muffin. I specified no butter for my toast, but it did come out totally dry. I was fine with that for the most part, but had finished my food with half a piece left and half wasn’t going to eat it dry, some jam would’ve been nice! I would’ve asked, but we were in a rush. They also initially forgot to bring my hash browns, but quickly remedied that when I asked about it. The place is busy. We arrived at 11:10 am in a Sunday and though there was no line, all tables were full. We lucked out as a group of three was just leaving, but it took a few minutes to turn over the table. Once we sat we ordered quickly and coffee came out fast (they have oat milk), but then the food took quite a while. Since we needed to leave, we went in and asked to pay around 12:40 pm. There is a nice little outdoor seating area for when the weather is decent! It’s October and we were fine outside, I imagine they close that at some point. We did notice that whenever the Seattle-Bainbridge ferry arrived, there was a mad rush of people and a line would form, so if you’re not coming off the ferry, would highly recommend you look at the ferry schedule to avoid right after one arrives. My friends (not vegan) got the BLT Benedict and breakfast burrito and said they were good and filling. “Perfectly cooked poached eggs with runny yolk and no slimy whites.”"

"Arrived to hostess on the 800° side to seat party of 5 at circular dining table. Was given a list of specials. Ordered 3 of the Jameson “mule” cocktails with no price listed. The drinks were extremely watery, bland, and in a small glass. Our server offered us splashes of pineapple, juice, lemon juice, and cranberry juice, which did not help the flavor. It wasn’t until later, after asking a question about the bill the server told us the Jameson-which was supposed to be in the cocktail was out of stock and the bartender substituted Chivas regal, which is not something I would have wanted mixed with experimental syrups and not given the option to switch or cancel the order. Considering the 3 cocktails were $72, I felt the staff was inconsiderate and most bartenders will let you know if spirits are unavailable before they sold you something else. The food and quality was good although the portions were small on many of the dishes. The burger was good, truffle fries, well cooked and tasty. The crabcakes seem to be made with fresh ingredients, but very tiny portion of accompaniments for the nearly $60 price tag for just the cakes. The filet mignon came well done when we asked for medium rare, so we insisted that it be remade, considering the price and the occasion. The meatballs were excellent, the steak Frites were good, and probably the best value. The carpaccio was weak due to the tiny amount of fish that was used and the pickled and umami flavors of the veggies and topping overpowered it to hide lack of fish. Good idea and concept but poor execution and not good quality. We had to ask several times to get water refills for the children since cocktail glasses were used they would finish quickly and only got refills 90 minutes into our visit. "
