"When we walked in from the Pittsburgh winter, the warm atmosphere pulled us in to a dining experience unlike any we've had in Pittsburgh before. Our waiter was perfectly poised but wonderfully friendly, even laughing with us when he saw us switch dessert plates. (We loved both, just wanted to make sure we both got to taste all of the wonderful dishes prepared for us. Flavors were impeccable (although the tartare is a little simple, perhaps to focus more on the local beef , and the freshness of ingredients really shone through. We very rarely eat out or get takeout because it's not worth the money when we could make it better ourselves. or, the Whale is the kind of place we hope to someday cook like, and without a doubt worth the splurge. Get a reservation, take someone you won't mind switching one delicious plate for another with, and stay through dessert. And, if you're like us, take the walk back to Theater Square to catch a show."
