"The first rule is a ban on moshing. Moshing has been a staple of the music scene for decades, especially in the Metal genre, and it shouldn't be completely eliminated. It can certainly be managed safely. As someone who's been to numerous shows, I've seen moshing being handled in a way that ensures everyone's safety.
The second rule prohibits bands from having any minor members. Many local bars in Oregon have successfully allowed minors to perform, as long as they stay in alcohol-free zones. For instance, The Sound Lounge in Grants Pass recently hosted a minor band member under specific guidelines, and it went off without a hitch.
Lastly, expecting a band to travel over 5 hours without one of their members and then giving them only 25 minutes to perform is downright disrespectful. These conditions will likely lead to bands pulling out of the event. The new management needs to support local bands and their audiences; otherwise, they'll lose a significant number of opportunities. They've already pushed away several local fans with these actions.
I sincerely hope to see some changes in the new management. But for now, Eastside Bar and Grill only deserves a one-star rating from me."
