"My wife and I both had the Roast Duck, which was very good. I had the Caesar Salad which was excellent. She had the Lobster Bisque special, which she enjoyed. We shared the Apple Strudel with vanilla ice cream for dessert excellent as well. The only negative was that we requested some extra triple sec sauce to accompany the Duck and were charged an additional It is sad that Covid prices and shortages have forced restaurants to impose such petty charges, especially since the sauce accompanying the Duck was not adequate. On the upside, service was attentive and we enjoyed the casual, comfortable, upscale ambience. We look forward to dining there again."

"We had an experience that I hope is not common at Roanoke it took over an hour for our food to come to us, and some of our dishes were burnt. Our waiter was as helpful as he could be through the night, and we appreciated being seated in the quieter lounge area"

"I came here with my food group and we were all so pleased with this place. Our server Eric was just fantastic, he made great recommendations, was very attentive, and quick to go out of his way( taking out pictures). We started with the Escargots à la Bourguignonne and the Napoléon de Champignons Sauvages (mushrooms) and both were just delicious!! The escargot was my favorite of the two though, it was FULL of flavor. Next time I will order two of them for the table. For my entree I had the Canard Rôti au Cassi (duck) and once again, full of flavor. This place really knows how to season their food. I couldn’t have picked a better plate. For desert we tried them all lol and my favorite was the Tarte aux Pommes (apple tart). I love this place. They knocked everything out of the park. I didn’t have high expectations given that it’s in a shopping center, but boy was I wrong!"

"Three of us enjoyed dinner on the terrace along the walkway. The service was good, and the food was excellent. Half Moon Bay boasts several great Italian restaurants, but this one stood out today. The beet salad was a prime example of how to elevate a classic dish into something exceptional. The chef did this with nearly everything we ordered, even putting a fresh spin on the bruschetta, which is a classic. Our meal was on the pricey side at $75 per person, but the quality of the food was superb, and the presentation was excellent."

"The food was disgusting, we returned 6 out of 7 appetizers that were served to us. The poor quality meat is poorly cooked and has a bad taste. They calculated every last cent of the bill. Shame should give them the lousy customer service and the lousy quality of the food with the years they have on the market !!!!! I will never return and I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. Expensive and lousy in every way"

"I went with a group for a birthday. It was the worst service any of us had ever experienced. Our waiter only took a couple of drink orders and then left for more than 20 minutes before we checked in to take the rest of the table order. For the food we had to tell him that we had to order. Then he took 4 orders, went away and didn't come back. When we got him to come back after telling several other workers we needed to complete the order, he forgot that he had taken the first few orders. He finally took a few more orders and went, again not to every person at the table. It took 2 hours in total and the food came out at all different times. We were all honestly very confused about what was happening throughout our dinner."

"The food and employees were amazing but the parking lot needs repaving and maybe expanded. It felt like I was driving down a creek instead of in a paved parking lot. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Crème Brûlée"

"it is from the season, but bell and anchor was busy and unaccommodating about the relocation of our reservation after minutes. frankly, our waiter was a smart guy. After our drinks had reached almost one, the appetizers came shortly. we ended the waiting times for the main courses, one of which had to be sent back because the well-made burger was rare. the host tried his best to help, but the waiter never apologized or checked with us. we no longer wanted to wait for the burger we said would be more than a few minutes, so divided one of the courts. we visited the restaurant outside the season and maybe the kitchen was simply underused, but I will not run back soon."

"We had one of the private rooms here as we were a table of 9 for lunch so needless to say we had a great spot at the restaurant. <br/ <br/ It was a Sunday lunch and the place seemed to only be 30% full. So if you want to avoid the rush, lunch on a Sunday afternoon is a good day to go. <br/ <br/ I ordered the Shorthorn 150D Rib eye $49) medium with no sauce. It was absolutely delicious as the texture was “melt in your mouth” and a good balanced beefy taste. It also came included with a generous side of chips. <br/ <br/ Others on my table ordered sauce $7) on the side and it’s large enough to share amongst 2 or 3. <br/ <br/ We shared an entree platter which was good to share amongst 4 adults. <br/ <br/ Didn’t need dessert or other sides. Everyone was full. <br/ <br/ Wine list was extensive and we enjoyed a few varieties to share over the course of lunch. <br/ <br/ Service was good. I didn’t feel any lengthy wait times on anything and a wait staff was always available when needed."

"My buddy and I had reservations for Peter Luger’s but after playing golf all day in Oceanside we didn’t want to drive all the way to Brooklyn for dinner. I suggested Jimmy Hays- I always used to pass by but never stopped in. As soon as we walked in we were greeted so nicely by the sommelier Michael (pinky) and we were promptly seated. As soon as we sat down a gentleman approached us (Jimmy Hays) and we talked for a bit and than he took us on a tour of his entire establishment, we were very impressed by the cleanliness and overall operations of his business. The cocktails were strong and good, the wine pours were super generous too! Our server Cory was super knowledgeable, makes sense since he’s been there for over twenty years! I ordered a filet on bone with mashed and my buddy ordered the ny cut. The best steaks we have every eaten and I live in Texas full time and my buddy in the city and we have eaten in some of the best steak houses in the country. Aside from the quality of the food, the service was amazing, they treat you like family, we will be back for sure, it was a great experience!!"

"Be careful! Credit card gets skimmed here!!! Update: As a good reviewer, I attempted to contact the restuarant prior to posting my review. Someone that claimed they were a waiter refused to let me speak to any management. I offered to leave my name and number they refused to take it. They suggested I try to contact the owner when they return from Europe at the end of the month. I called you have my number and if you are truly interested in addressing the issue you can contact me. "we had a reservation of 7 o'clock, eating was empty, but filled within an hour. we ordered drinks, and when they were delivered, we ordered our meal. our appetizer was very good, and the dishes were never taken away, our waiter came and asked if we ordered our main course. the service was very slow. there was only one waiter and two bus boys, for the whole dining room. not wise for a Valentine's Day evening. there was much help in the bar."

"At the end of our visit to NYC last week, we wanted to sample a trendy Italian restaurant within minutes of our hotel and Nitti's was the choice. They did not disappoint. I will say that all the windows to the patio area were open, and after a rainy few days, it was still very humid and warm. However, the manager (Bless him) came to my rescue and suggested a table in line with one of their circulating fans. The food and atmosphere were very good. We had Pasta Alfredo (specially made for my husband it's not on the regular menu), Veal Sorrentino and a nice house Malbec. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and a great conversation with the manager about Italy and it's food. Good job and thanks you."

"Exquisite food in a gorgeous old building. It was fun to look around at the fixtures and beautiful wood touches. Having said that, once seated with drinks....we were asked to move to a different table because of a big party coming in. Poor planning is not our fault! Our salads came out AFTER our entrees, one salad was forgotten, and one was wrong. Yes, they were very busy on a Saturday evening but we made our reservation for 5:00, hoping to miss some of the rush. Because the deep dish was so divine...we will consider coming again while in Chicago."

"On a positive note, the ambiance is charming, although we were unexpectedly treated to a rather peculiar singer. As for the food, it was a mixed experience. The pasta and chicken were cooked well, but both dishes were lacking in flavor. I was surprised that they didn’t offer fresh parmesan, which is standard for Italian dining. The chicken piccata had almost no lemon flavor, and there was no fresh lemon on the side, which was disappointing. Overall, this place feels more like an American restaurant that tries to pass for Italian rather than an authentic Italian eatery. If you can handle the many stairs and don’t mind subpar service and bland food, this restaurant might suit you, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a true Italian dining experience."

"This is our new favorite local BYOB spot. We've been twice now. The staff is very warm and friendly and the food is superb. If you like well crafted food and are willing to pay for very interesting tasting, beautifully plated food then this is a great place to go. We've been twice and both times they have been great with dietary restrictions as well. It's charming, casual enough to walk in (if you can get in!) but also a great place to take visiting friends and relatives or for a special night out or date. The Wayne area needed a place like this. We'll keep going back for sure."

"We celebrated my friend's birthday today at Agora. It's a really cute restaurant, with beautiful Turkish light fixtures...I felt like I was back in the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. The restaurant was surprisingly busy for a Thursday evening. We had not made reservations, but they were kind enough to accommodate us.We ordered a spread sampler (minus the non veg option as my friends are vegetarian, instead they gave us 2 portions of Htipiti) and Saganaki.I ordered the lamb chops with broccolini and Ottoman Rice...it was delicious. My friends got the stuffed eggplant (Imam Bayildi) and falafel. For dessert, I had the Sutlac (rice pudding), and my friends split some pistachio ice cream. I don't have a sweet tooth, but I really enjoyed the Sutlac. The ice cream was good too.As it was my friend's birthday, the restaurant brought out a slice of red velvet cake with a little candle. Very sweet of them.Overall, the food was great. Portions are not huge, but one is pleasantly full, rather than stuffed after a meal.Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian options available for patrons. In fact my friends are strict vegetarians and they had no trouble choosing both appetizers and main dishes. All the items are clearly marked (Vegetarian/Gluten free etc).Parking: There is little to no parking on the street near the restaurant. However, there is a parking garage around the corner that has several spots for Agora's patrons. I had no problem finding a spot, once I found the garage!!"

"This is a lovely old world Italian restaurant that reminds of another time. It was a snowy day and the restaurant wasn't crowded for lunch, but the food was great. The bread was fresh and delicious. The homemade minestrone was light and fragrant. The shrimp were excellent. It was my girlfriend's birthday, and our waiter brought a delicious dessert with a message in chocolate on his own initiative. We will come back in any case."
