"The hosts for our monthly dinner group this month picked The Tavern. Great choice. There were only six of us this month but everyone loved their food and the service was excellent. The Tavern was a busy place on a Saturday evening; even at 6pm. And the noise level was a bit high. We were seated at a round booth that was a bit of a tight fit but at least we were close enough together that we could hear each other. The entrees everyone ordered ranged from the Zuni Chicken Salad (my choice) to the Prime Meatloaf, the Rotisserie Pork Chop, the French Dip, the Fort Worth Cobb Salad and the Famous Pastrami Sandwich. Literally everyone loved their food. The pork chop was huge (definitely two and maybe three meals) but moist and tender. My wife had the meatloaf and brought half of it home for another meal. It came with mashed potatoes that she said were ok. She didn't think they were homemade but they were good enough. I ate too many appetizers at the hosts' home so I wasn't overly hungry so the Zuni Chicken Salad was just right. A lot of times the chicken chunks on a salad like this aren't the best cut. But this had white meat chicken that was tender and moist as all get out. And all of the ingredients were fresh/ We were near the kitchen so I watched a lot of food come out. Everything looked good! Gabriela took great care of us. She checked on us just often enough and kept my Diet Coke glass full which can be challenging. I'm already planning on taking a friend of mine that loves pastrami there to try their Famous Pastrami Sandwich. The person in our group that had it ate it all (which was a challenge because it was huge like the other entrees) and said he'd have it again."

"my wife and I stopped eating on Tuesday night in this week. we were very kindly greeted by the staff, and our waiter was solicitous and efficient. we ordered a burger and shared him with something broccolini, a few glasses wein, and the suppe of the day that was tomaten with, I think was goat cheese. the burger was great, the broccolini good, and the tomaten soup was forgotten, taste more than someone just a few cento tomatenpaste, a bit water, maybe a little salt and pfeffer, and throw some goat cheese up. the wine selection by the glass was good, but no bargain. there was a promotion on beer, but it was pitcher, and an inconspicuous US mass market beer, so no interest there. the online next promotion was $12 burger and beer, but from some reason we seemed to have missed the point there - the materials they seemed to be delivering to emphasize the beer pitcher and not the $12 burger with it. we probably didn't understand. we paid something like $60 for a burger, a suppe and two glasses wein. that was very elevated to my view. I think we could have gone to mortons or after the capital grile and got less better food. Despite that, it was good, the place had a great ambiente, and the waiting staff and the management were very nice and appealing. it looks like a great place to be together with a friend or two for happy hour, the advantages of cheap appetizers and drinks."
