"On a whim, I decided to grab some takeout and chose this Indian restaurant since it was the closest option. Overall, I had a great experience! The restaurant may be small, but it has a lovely atmosphere and was very clean and tidy. The owner was incredibly gracious and welcoming. The prices were similar to other Indian restaurants I've visited. I ordered onion kulcha and paneer makhani, and both were delicious. The spice level is a bit hotter than what I'm used to, so be mindful of that. However, the flavors were fantastic, and the portions were generous. While I've had better onion kulcha (this one was a bit thinner than I prefer), it was still quite tasty. Their vegetarian menu is more extensive than many other Indian places I've been to, which already offer a good variety, so I’m definitely planning to return to try out some of the other dishes that I can’t find elsewhere. Overall, it was well worth the drive!"

"India Kitchen is an excellent Indian restaurant that I would highly recommend to anyone. The food is absolutely delicious and the taste is spot on. I felt that the value of money spent was justified as I received 80% worth of what I paid for. In fact, I believe it is the best restaurant in the area for Indian food. I have already recommended it to most of my friends. Raj, who manages the restaurant, is a nice person and good to talk to. The only negative point I have is that they use too much food color in their dishes. In my opinion, taste should take priority over presentation and I hope they understand that soon. Overall, India Kitchen is a great choice for anyone looking for an authentic and tasty Indian meal."

"Okay first of all, anyone who gave this place less than 5 stars probably puts ketchup on their steak. With that said, this food is literally top notch. It's incredible. I get the chicken tikka masala everytime with the chicken Tikka Naan, delicious is not even enough to describe this food. And I normally always have to order it from grubhub, and it still comes hot and delicious. I would love to try it fresh someday. I have had a phone conversation with the owner when ordering, and he is extremely polite and just seems like an awesome person. He helped describe things to me, didn't rush me and made sure I knew all about the food I was ordering. Top notch guy and top notch food. Eat here. Oh, and if the price kinda throws you off just know that the portion sizes are massive. If you look at the photo I posted you will understand. This is more than enough for 2 people."

"Excellent selection of mouth watering Indian food including Tandoori, Curries and offering both meat protein and vegetarian dishes. The manager, Alvin, and his staff are attentive and so polite. Definitely recommend Sattva Indian Cuisine in Aliso Viejo. Great place to eat before going to the adjacent movie theaters Edward's Aliso Viejo Stadium ."

"I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. Despite it being nearly empty on a Friday night and us having made a reservation, we were thoroughly disappointed. The service was a mess – I had to ask twice for a glass of wine and had to go find the staff, who were lounging in the back, to get served. Our appetizer took 50 minutes to arrive, and it took over an hour from placing our order to being served, even though there were only three occupied tables. We had the Lamb Saag, Chicken Tikka, Lamb Rogan Josh, and Dal Makhani – nothing outstanding, but not bad either. Getting the check was a challenge, and even after using the “pay online” feature, we were stopped in the parking lot by staff claiming we hadn’t paid. I showed them the e-receipt on my phone to prove we had. Overall, nothing positive about this experience. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously."

"I was in the vicinity and was looking for an Indian restaurant. I found one just a block away from my hotel, the Fairfield Inn. I decided to order the lamb saag and it was absolutely delightful. I also got some papadum and raita on the side, along with a cup of chai tea. The service was excellent and the restaurant had a cozy, local atmosphere. The prices were also really good. I would definitely visit again if I ever find myself in the area."

"Walking up to the door from the parking lot it does not look like much. The sit down restaurant is much larger and nicer inside than it leads on. The smells walking up are filled with spices but once the door opens that all goes away. The smell of incense takes over, please change this so we can wafe in the food smells, that is what we are there for...the food.My recommendation is if you are with a group, order many dishes for the table to share. This would be better than everyone ordering their own dish. The food was delicious but since it is all covered in sauce, the same flavor for the entire meal will get old."

"The appetizers we ordered Veg Manchuria was excellent but the Dosa we ordered was very lousy. We ordered two different Dosa and we specifically give instructions to make sure they are crispy. First one they serve was not crispy so I complained and tell the waitress make sure the second one is crispy. My wife was really hungry so she says okay to first one. The second one is also very lousy. We feel like we are eating roti and dal. Waitress says Sorryand that’s it. Could not believe they did not make effort to make crispy. I don’t think the cook know how to make crispy. It was the worst Father’s Day dinner we had. I wish we would have ordered naan and Subji."

"When I called to voice my concerns, the staff member who took the order accused me of lying. I understand they might have customers who do that, but being called a liar was frustrating. I considered driving back for a full refund, but with my kids home from college, I didn't want to spoil our anniversary lunch. As for the food, it wasn't anything to write home about. The Butter Chicken was decent, but the Tikka Masala was dreadful—way too buttery, even more than the Butter Chicken! It felt unfair to be charged extra for such poor quality. I asked to speak with the manager, but no one reached out to me. I even sent an email, and still, no response. Overall, I had a terrible experience with both the food and customer service. I won’t be ordering from this restaurant again."

"As far as Indian lunch buffets go, Five Rivers is the only restaurant that offers it in the Westlake area for $15 (M-F 11am-3pm. The buffet items were not labeled and I wasn't sure what I was eating. So, my tip is, only get a little of each in the first round, in case you don't like chickpeas or lamb. Service was abysmal. I asked for naan bread but never got it. Maybe they didn't want me to fill up on bread? Other people got naan though. So jealous. You refill your own water at the soda machine or fill up on the milk tea dispenser. As far as the food, it wasn't spicy as I thought it would be. The chicken masala, tandoori chicken, samosa were my favorites. The other stuff were OK. I checked-in on Yelp but didn't get a coupon. The cashier gave me 10% off for trying."

"I came in around 11:30am on a Sunday. I experienced good customer service and no wait at all. Food was delicious. I like their okra vegetable dish their spinach dish. Personally, the bhindi is slightly better in their Jamboree location, but I like their spinach here. The portion is decent I feel they can give a little more. Their portion is like Panda Express to help you relate ? P.S. their naan bread tasted more starchy. The other location is better."

"100% original Indian food. The place is very well furnished and is 100% Indian food, it is an authentic place with Indian roots, where you can see the culture of the country in its entirety, a unique and highly recommended experience. The food is excellent, both in its variety and in its preparation, I was lucky enough to participate in a buffet and that allowed me to access a variety of dishes, all excellently prepared and with an incredible taste. The service is very good and very efficient, also for a large number of guests like that on this day (50 with adults and children, and at any time the staff was attentive to the needs of all diners."

"I ordered a home delivery from here recently. The food was properly packed. The appetizers was good, tasty and decent quantity for the price. Garlic chicken was tasty but too much of oil and less quantity for the price?. I could extract and throw away, 4 to 5 tablespoons of excess oil that is flooded on top of the curry?. The chicken biriyani was also good and enough quantity for the price. All together everything was okey. Chicken biriyani, boneless: $12.99 Non-veg assorted, appetizer: $9.99 Chicken biriyani, boneless: $12.99"

"Hello RajMahal Indian restaurant,The food here is not at all up to the mark. We went there in the evening times in a chilly weather, but we are not satisfied with the food.We ordered :1. Mango lassi2. Mutter paneer3. Garlic naan4. Shrimp pakora5. Chicken soup6. Chicken fried rice.To be truth, only the mango juice is so good other than all every item is bad. Do they cook it fresh it is oily and it’s not all good to eat.But the vibe in the restaurant is kind of peace and calm with a good music but it shows why the people are not here too.Well, for the people who like to add the sweetness in every item, this is the very good place to visit.Feedback for restaurantI think you have to start stopping the sweet sauce in every item, also the food that you are serving is too much oily please fix that.Well, there are a lot to tell you but keep moving.Cheers guys, Have a good one."

"This is one of my friend's favourite restaurants when she has work in Calgary. I had heard months of build up until I finally had the opportunity to join her. She said it is African cuisine so I trust her. We had a cassava plate, some short ribs and a curry. The cassava came in the spicy sauce, which to me is not terribly spicy. It has kick, don't get me wrong, but I use hot sauce in almost everything I eat. Then came the ribs. We had them in medium sauce. This isn't a typical hot sauce. This is a blend of spices with some liquid which is likely typical of African hot sauce. They give you yogurt, tamarind, green hot and red hot sauce. I had fun trying all the combinations. The curry came out last with rice and flatbread. The curry had a candle below it to keep it warm as you ate. I find this a nice touch since it was much colder outside. I drank a Chai drink which was creamy and had little need for sweetener. I like the multitude of flavours this whole meal conveyed. Since it was my fist time, it probably showed from my excitement with the meal, there was a little bit of ice cream at the end to cleanse the pallets that we shared."

"Let me start off by saying the food is fantastic at this restaurant. The portions are great, and the quality is amazing. What's inexcusable is the incense that they have burning. It is so strong that my children and I had a headache by the time we left. This has happened on more than one occasion. I imagine the people who have had this same experience have stayed quiet and not returned. It's as if you're in a Catholic church and they are blessing a casket before a burial. It's so strong you can smell it over the food, and it is so noticeable. I understand having incense in a store that sells unique items but I for the life of me cannot understand why a restaurant would have incense. I can't think of another restaurant I've ever experienced this in. It's burning all the time and you'll notice it the second you approach the front door. We stopped going and started to choose another location because of this. We would be happy to return if this were to change."
