"I would skip this place if you can. There is no transparency in their ingredients. I had been there several times and was told the tempura is vegan because they don't add eggs to it. During a vegan meetup, we were ensured there were no eggs in it except we had a thoughtful server who decided to ask just to (triple) check. He comes back and tells us the flour itself has whey and dried eggs in it which means all the other times I visited, the servers did not check the ingredients on the flour. Their vegetarian miso soup is NOT vegetarian and contains fish products. For vegetarians and those okay with eating eggs/dairy, it's convenient that there is a vegetarian menu. And while their effort is appreciated, I'll go to another place with servers that check ingredients for customers."

"Our overall experience at the restaurant was great and we would definitely consider coming back. However, I am deducting one star because the hangar steak we ordered was undercooked with a purplish color in the middle, the Caesar salad dressing was watered down due to wet lettuce, and the butternut squash ravioli was overly drenched in cream sauce without it being mentioned in the description. Additionally, the braised lamb dish could use a side of mashed potatoes or something to balance out the richness, as one piece of toast was not sufficient. Despite these issues, the restaurant promptly addressed any complaints we had and the French dip sandwich was exceptional, possibly one of the best I have had recently. The Gilman salad was also delicious, the drinks were excellent, and the service was spot on. The restaurant has a trendy atmosphere and I would recommend trying it out if you are in the area."

"This was my first stop for Restaurant Week 2022! Very cozy and cute neighborhood location on the South Hill. Quinton was our server and he was fantastic! We were a group of 5 and all got a variety of dishes from the RW Menu. I walked away feeling pleasantly full without feeling like I overate. Beet salad seems to be the rave right now as I've seen it featured on many menus...their salad was a delicious fresh start followed by, gnocchi and cookie butter cheesecake. The cheesecake consistency was a bit too mushy I like mine more firm, but it was still great! Everyone was happy with their meal extra points for how awesome the wings were!"

"It was my first visit in years, and the ambiance was fantastic. My daughters really enjoyed the selection of books. We decided to stay for brunch (or lunch) at 2 pm on a Sunday and ordered chicken and waffles, flatiron steak, and Kramer's breakfast. The food was decent, but nothing exceptional; it seemed like it had been sitting out for a while as the temperature and texture suggested. On the plus side, the coffee was excellent, the server was delightful, and we appreciated sitting under their tent while it rained. Perhaps next time we'll just go for coffee and dessert."

"I had a confirmed lunch reservation on 3/29 for 6 people to celebrate an anniversary. When we entered the elevator, it stopped us on the 2nd floor instead of the rooftop. I called but no one answered. I called again 30 minutes later and no one answered. I called that evening but no one answered. Why have a reservation when the restaurant wasn’t opened? Very disappointed and will not try again. Very unreliable."

"The Saltwater Grill has been a Galveston staple for some time. I was encouraged that the menu has been updated with new items, while preserving some of their best offerings - I swear the Shanghai Delight is laced with Prozac because I'm always happy when I eat it. This time I tried one of their new "naked" offerings, hoping the fish would be allowed to shine. I had the grilled redfish, which was done perfectly - the very thin edges were a little crisp and carmelized but the fish was still moist and flavorful. I did miss the bread - this was one of the few restaurants in town that started with something with substance, so I was quite disappointed when a little crock of crackers appeared instead of bread. The restaurant is very noisy - I was ok hearing my companions but certainly couldn't hear the server well."

"We ate there twice while in OBX. Dinners for at the bar. Amazing bartender Matt he is the guy you want to meet and tend to you everywhere. Excellent attention. Our meal the first night was great second night no so much, so mixed reviews on the food. Had to send one entree back stone cold grits under lukewarm fish. But they compted a glass of wine and gave us fries while we waited so forgiven.Nice atmosphere and easy reservations with Open Table. Pricey? Yes, but expected"

"Crab dip was subpar but steamed shrimp was awesome. Server never cleared the table before bringing out more food. Then the runner looked confused when I asked her to remove the dirty plates first. My husband noticed the building was under negative air pressure caused from Kitchen hood exhaust (kitchen saloon doors sucked in) causing hot humid exterior air to rush into the restaurant when the exterior doors would open. Sit away from doors if you want A/C. Outdoor seating looked nice and led to long pier on the water."

"Excellent ! We loved the food and drinks! Innovative and interesting menu and the dishes are as tasty as they sound. Four of us shared a sampler starter plate, mantoo, a vegetarian plate and beef kofta kabob with saffron rice. The portions were plentiful but not huge and had distinctive, balanced flavors. "I could tell by a quick scan of the reviews that I was in for a good burger. But I didn't know how good. It was delicious. Definitely need the double patty, as the individual hand-pattied burgers are certainly meaty enough solo. The cheese curds were delicious too, and you get a heaping serving of them. The shack was completely full by the time I left with my to-go order, and a regular was raving about the hamburger steak. Can't wait for a return trip to try some other items."

"I just spent 80 on a chicken leg area with 2 lil ass sides, hot link board, which looks like shop bought polish, lil ass container of fish diving with club cracker, which are also from the store. I could have this together and spend much less. The fish diving is very delicious, but I feel like I go to costco and get the same, but a whole more for less than 12. They don't understand it's near a recession and they're pulling this BS. I'll never earn my hard. Perhaps my standards for quantity and quality are much higher than what this restorer wants to express."
