"I am relatively new to the Conroe area…about 3 years. I have several people recommend this place to me but had not gone until last weekend. A friend and I went looking at Christmas lights. After we were finished decided to grab a bite to eat. It was about an hour before closing. Was only a couple other people in there. The service was good. The atmosphere was good. The food was great. I had chicken fried steak which is my most favorite food and is how I judge a restaurant. It was delicious!! Everything was delicious. I also had the fried green tomatoes. The very best I have ever had!!!"

"The sandwiches here are quite tasty. However, I noticed that many customers were ordering without masks, despite the ongoing pandemic and the current mask mandate. It was disappointing to see that no one addressed this issue or enforced the mask policy. It's unfortunate because the quality of the sandwiches is truly impressive."

"It's disheartening to realize a place where in the beginning of eating at American Diner, good atmosphere and good food was a place to always go but now as of lately, disappointment especially in the afternoon/evenings. Ordered items where server and/or cooks not paying attention to ordered items were wrong yet one was corrected. Okay taken care of. Dining experience started off okay but then turned uncomfortable as the afternoon staff consist now of mainly high school and college student's which their on cell phones, congregated in their groups of chatter and limited observing the needs of their customers... causing the atmosphere to feel uneasy as servers were just wanting to lag around, just get by, not wanting to get things done and prepared for the dinner shift. Yes it's understandable that being in a College town, the owner is wanting through these younger generations, to make his diner more college oriented by hiring only young folks yet hoping that work ethic is being taught. How ever what made for uncomfortable and unprofessional is observing two job applicants come in a young lady which the owner hugs yeah he may know her but still...be professional about it). I'm sorry but dressing inappropriate in short shorts, tight tank top and sneakers for an interview, No. Anyway, Interview proceeds, she's hired on right there and then she proceeds to goof around, hugging girls talking and laughing loud, which causes her glass to fall, breaking the glass beverage to spill all over the floor with customers near by all totally unprofessional in a place of business in front of customers. Meanwhile, the other young man who by the way came in a couple minutes after the young lady is dressed accordingly dress shirt, pants and shoes) is told by the owner to wait. How long? Don't know. Good luck to the young man. However how interesting that No Jobs were posted, in fact they were covered up....so. hmmm. Which is pretty sad to say that now a days It's not what you know, experience you have BUT WHO you know. Would we return? In time but only for the morning crew. They're more professional."

"I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant due to the poor customer service. When I thanked my server, she simply grunted and walked away. I decided to try their chili for the first time, and at $8, it was a letdown. I only received five spoonfuls, and I regret leaving a $1 tip. Honestly, I could have bought a $2 can of chili and gotten much more for my money, along with better service. Not only will I not return, but I also won't have anything positive to say about this place."

"I've been in three times now and I can say that the consistency is amazing. Everyone complains about the length of time service requires but I appreciate it because it means my food is fresh when I order it. The nice young lady who took my orders was great in her suggestion of which shake to try. I'll say this every chance I get to be up that direction I plan on stopping by to try something new on the menu. I might even try the intimidator one day ."

"We just got back and I wish I knew the names of the two young men who served us because I would love to give them a shout-out. They were fantastic! There were four of us, along with our two one-year-olds, and they were very helpful with our order. When I asked if I could come back to clean up after the babies made a mess, one of them assured me it was absolutely fine. The food was delicious, and the place was spotless. It was an excellent stop!"

"This restaurant deserves an award for being the cleanest fast food establishment! The sandwiches we ordered were fantastic, and all the salads and toppings were incredibly fresh. The service was quick and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable. I will definitely be returning! "We had a large group vacationing in Myrtle Beach and wanted pizza for our first night. After trying unsuccessfully contact several pizza companies we reached out to Chris's. Very nice lady took her order and 25 minutes later we picked up 13 pizzas and four salads. The service is outstanding and as the food was excellent. We would strongly recommend them."

"This will be an ongoing review with edits for additions of menu items, and customer experience. Customer Experience: As of 9.27.22 I 'll start by saying the food so far has been mostly good, I 've worked through a chunk of the menu and this experiencereflects that. The food if prepared correctly (and sometimes not) is very tasty and reasonably priced. The unfortunate part isthat it seems 50/50 if your food is made as ordered. This can vary from getting the wrong meat, wrong size, wrong fixings,incorrectly charged both undercharged and overcharged. It really does seem very random and chaotic yet with every visit thus farI 've only had at most 2 others orders in queue. I have noticed when ordering in rather than to-go there is a greater chance ofsuccess, food for thought. Due to these incorrect orders I have ordered a few items more than once in order to complete thisreview. I do look forward to trying the rest of the items on the menu in time and will be sure to update as I go. MenuItems: Note post dated, each item ordered on separate date, Sat, Apr 16: Italian: 4/5 : Quality meat/cheese but a little onthe small side. Clam chowda: 3/5: bit on the chewyside but above average flavor. Hot Pastrami/extra meat: 5/5 best hotpastrami I 've had in Corvallis so far. Must get with extra meat. Cream cheese and cucumber: 1/5: Bland, not enough creamcheese poor cheese choice by default (American it seems). Fri, Apr 29: 1/5 Have received two wrong orders 1: not hotpastrami (received cold roast beef) 2: Not hot pastrami (cold ham with random cheeses) -This double order was an attempt to showoff the quality, oops. Sun, Aug 21: French Dip: 3/5 I ordered extra meat and definitely didn 't get it and it looked to be nota large (on either sandwich) I guess there is no swiss cheese which any good French dip has, my mistake. I added swiss myselfwhich turned a 2/5 into a 3/5. Good Toasting of the bun though. WIP"

"I visited this restaurant for the first time with my family, and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Our waiter, Ray, provided excellent service! I ordered a Caesar salad along with chicken parmesan and chose mixed spinach and rice as my side. The food was served hot and fresh, and the chicken parmesan was flavorful. My only issue was with the processed spinach, which lacked any taste. Overall, I would consider coming back to this place again."

"I love a good diving bar, but that was just a bad bar. Our bartender was really not friendly, but not terrible. Your carbonization is so bad. Soda water and coke were far away. We tried the chicken sandwich special, it wasn't, and the worst sandwich I've ever eaten. It was so overridden that it was almost black. A good diving bar should be 1 out of 3, good food, drink or service... I didn't find anything here."

"Poor customer service, my boyfriend and I were the only two in there and they rushed us to order as soon as we walked in the door. I got a chipotle steak and cheddar and I asked for the peppers but no onions and I got peppers but not the ones the recipe calls for, I got banana peppers instead. My steak was soggy as if they didn't properly drain out the water and when I asked for extra chipotle she told me that it was already on there when I asked for extra... I usually am pretty understanding but I used to work at the Monticello location so I knew what I wanted and how customers should be treated and this ruined my experience, legitimately started crying because I had been looking forward to getting it all week just for the experience to end up being terrible..."

"Super impressed with this restaurant serving every hot and fast food you could hope to find under one roof. Pasta, gyros, calzones, sandwiches, burgers, salads, plus whole pizzas and pizza by the slice that smelled amazing. Very clean restaurant and bathrooms. The burgers were perfectly cooked, juicy, with flavorful bacon and cheddar that tasted like cheddar, and fresh veggies on top. Plentiful fries, decent ranch, and under $20 for two rounded out this stellar dining experience. Highly recommended."
