"I arrived at a busy restaurant with a full parking lot, but unfortunately, there were no available spaces. The crowd inside initially made me eager to dine there, but my experience quickly took a turn for the worse. Upon entering, I found no one at the hostess stand, so I went to the bar and seated myself. After a long day at work and dealing with a stressful financial situation, the lack of service and unfriendly staff created a rather unpleasant atmosphere. I had to ask someone to clean off the bar and bring me a menu – a task that should have been routine. It took quite a while for a server to finally take my order, and when my food arrived, it looked unappealing and seemed like it might have been reheated. The overall lack of attention to detail and the disinterested staff left me with no desire to return. In summary, my visit was disappointing, and I cannot recommend this restaurant to others."

"Everything I ate was just tasteless . I asked my dining companions for their opinions to assist in my rating of this place because I personally don 't think it was quite as bad as a 2 but everyone else had a pretty strong opinion and it was not good. We ordered from this place for dinner because my companions wanted Mexican and I wanted to try something new. I appreciate the vegetarian menu section and three of us ordered the vegetable fajitas. One of us ordered a grilled chicken burrito. For some extra oomph, we ordered some apps: guac, tostones, and fries. I noticed that the description for the veggie fajitas did not include rice or beans but what remotely legitimate Mexican place serves fajitas, or anything no less, without rice and beans? I figured this was a given and hoped for the best. One of us actually wanted a bean burrito without cheese but there is no option to make any requests when ordering online through DoorDash. The food came within a reasonable amount of time. I was literally ravenous when it came and tore open the container that housed the guacamole. It seemed pretty standard to me at that time but one of my companions, who is such a **** for avocado she literally eats one like an apple every day and I 'm not exaggerating, didn 't like it and thought it was tasteless . This is probably the first time in my life I 've witnessed this person NOT wolf anything avocado down. The tostones were very good, no complaints there. The fries were also enjoyable but soggy and underdone. The person who ordered the grilled chicken burrito says it was just ok, it wasn 't nearly as good as the other place we order from, it didn 't have any beans with it! and the chicken was a little sparse. The veggie fajitas. Oh lord, where do I begin? Firstly, the veggies are green peppers, sliced onions, and some zucchini with no seasoning that I could detect whatsoever. They also included three puny, tiny tortillas which is not enough. Also included was some lettuce, salsa, guac, and sour cream but literally no rice, beans, or cheese. Another dining companion points out that what was provided did not warrant the prices.Another companion just added, maybe the chef was out sick lmao. The meal was very disappointing."

"Great cozy space. We were looking for a few apps and drinks. Luckily, happy hour is until closing on Saturday nights. $2 tacos and $1 off tap beer plus $5 well drinks which was pretty small needless to say. But all in all, we were pleasantly surprised. I can tell you, if she is at the counter, we will eat next door. We enjoy the food, but I can go elsewhere and at least have someone do the minimum to greet us with a hello. The steak taco was also very good. The salsa bar was stacked with a a yummy salsa verde chipotle salsa. A shrimp taco à la cart for $5 seems a bit steep, however, the flavors justify the price."

"I didn’t eat in, just did a pickup. I got the taco trio, which included a Baja shrimp taco, a breaded fish taco, and a mahi mahi taco. The best one by far was the breaded fish, followed by the shrimp, with the mahi mahi coming in last. While the mahi mahi was good, the shrimp and breaded fish were significantly better. "During my solo visits, I sat at the bar and felt the piercing gazes of both staff and regulars, as if I were intruding on their space by choosing an open seat. Service was sluggish, and in some instances, I didn't receive any service at all. The food, when it arrived, was standard pub fare. Despite an effort to offer a diverse menu, the execution fell short. For example, the roasted or deep-fried Brussels sprouts were nearly raw and hard, with only a bit of crispiness on the outside. The branzino was overcooked and dry. When I dined with my wife, the service was exceedingly slow in a restaurant that was only half full during the week. It seemed the staff and owner preferred to chat among themselves rather than attend to the customers. I would have hoped the owner would step in to assist in expediting food orders. "Nothing wrong with Cesar's Killer Margarita or the Great Friendly service they provide. It's the place the food.First the place. It was summer when we last visited. It was lively teeming with folks immersed in Mexican revelry. But now the bar area is small. Rooms closed off so there are only two left. Blame Covid? The revelry was gone. Now the food. It came to us lukewarm and without the paid for sour cream. Chips sauce were outstanding. We'll go back in the summer and hope its changed back to the fun place it used to be."

The staff is friendly, and their portions of protein are hefty. I am. Rubio fan and traditionally visit a Ventura or Bakersfield locations regularly. My first time here and if I was a local I would visit often. Employees, thank you for a refreshing meal. I was really hungry, lol. Picture reflect chicken tacos gone gone, tortilla soup was good, rate it about a 7/10 and tacos 8/10, only because I took time eating they have gotten cold fast, it’s cold in here which reflects in colder food as well. "I recently moved to the neighborhood and had dinner here for the first time—I absolutely loved it! The chicken enchiladas were fantastic, and the Sangria was even better; we even got some to take home! This Sangria is truly amazing! Went on the weekend where there were only young teenagers working (no offense to the teenagers) but they did not care about the quality of the service they gave.
