"We had reservations for 4 at 6:30. When we arrived we were told they kitchen was behind and it would be at least 20 minutes before we could be seated. There was no room at the bar, so we stood in the entryway until we were finally seated around 7. Once seated, our waiter was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, very entertaining. He helped with a microbrew and wine selection. Then we waited. By 8, we started asking after our meals. The kitchen sent out an appetizer to hold us over. Finally got out meals around 8:30. Problem was, we had plans to be at Jazz UpFront at 8. So we were starting to worry about even getting at table at the club. The food was well presented, but didn't deliver on its promises. It wasn't necessarily bad. But it simply didn't hit the taste notes you'd expect for both the presentation and the price. The meatballs were dry. Duck breast was bland. Gumbo was good, as was the Butterfish. Pulled pork was mediocre. So, as the title suggests, a mixed bag of results."
