"My wife and I went out last-night to the new MR. Mikes in Martensville. Tried a few times before on Friday nights but always very busy. This time I called ahead to our name put on the wait list 30 minutes prior to our preferred arrival time, as they suggested.We were greeted at the door by 2 very attentive ladies and the assistant Manager Jason, who asked if we wanted the lounge of restaurant. were seated right away. Appetizer was their Calamari. It was some of the best we have had, lightly battered and crispy coating with almost melt in your mouth texture. Very tasty!We both love our beef and the Rib Eye Steak is always our first choice. Mine was Ragin' Cajun spiced with garlic mashed and I added the "Mike it up" side (which is saute'd Mushrooms and Onions with Caesar salad, though I asked for the Salad to be switched to their house salad with Balsamic Dressing). My wife ordered her Rib Eye steak with the Oscar / Lobster topper and twice baked potato. The food was amazing, The Steak was cooked to a perfect Medium Rare (The only way to appreciate a good steak), everything was hot, the side vegetable medley that comes with the meal was fresh, hot and not the least bit mushy. The service was fast, friendly, our server Ally K. was on top of everything and was very attentive. Even the Assistant Manager Jordan, came by to see that everything was to our liking. Only error was I ordered a side of gravy for my Garlic Mashed and received a side of Mushrooms to go with the Mushrooms I already had. Ally K was on top of that right away and I got my gravy, but really, after tasting the very creamy Garlic mashed, I didn't even use the gravy they were that good. Only improvement I might suggest is the improving the gravy. Didn't seem home made to me. When we were done, Ally told us that the Assistant Manager Jordan wanted to offer us a complimentary dessert, but we told her thank very much but we wouldn't be able to eat it as we were very full already. However she countered by saying they would package it up so we could take it home to enjoy it later. We accepted the offer and took home their very delicious apple pie.I travel lots and eat out lots. I told my wife that the last time I felt this good about the whole experience was when I was in a High End Restaurant in Whistler BC a few years back. It Really was that Good. My wife expressed that she too was equally pleased with the whole experience."
