"Great place. First time, but it won't be our last. We were seated upon arrival. We really enjoyed the food and the service was top notch. Stan made us feel like VIPs with his smooth and timely pours (delicious) and attention to detail. Besides our laughter and catching up, the place was quiet and relaxing on the weekday we went. Perfect! Already looking forward to next time."

"When you have a small menu with only 5 entrees, you can't be sold out of one of the entrees by 6:15 in the evening. Farm to table technique was solid, but the prices were a bit high for what they were serving. Particularly the $23 roasted head of cauliflower entree. And yes they seem like they did alot of great things to that $3 head of cauliflower to make it into a delicious entree but wow. Service was great, ambiance was great, very cozy. Definitely to me more of a good pre or post event place for a drink/dessert or conversation."

"I've visited this place a few times, and I appreciate that it's never too crowded, but it's perplexing because the food is also excellent. I love the ambiance, and it's one of my go-to restaurants for dinner in Houston. It's somewhat of a hidden gem, offering some great dining rewards/perks. Parking is hassle-free. Their wine selection is truly outstanding, the ingredients are fresh, and I've never had a negative experience. I recently tried their cast iron seared scallops, and they were absolutely heavenly. Chef’s kiss."

"We thought the food and wine was just ok. We got the cheeseboard to start and it was pretty good. Pizza I ordered was supposed to be pear and Gorgonzola but don’t think it had Gorgonzola on it. Tasted like it was just regular pizza cheese. My wife got the lobster and shrimp pot stickers also and they weren’t very good. Probably wouldn’t go back again. Bill was 130 for 2 to eat and could have went to Malones for that amount and would have been a much better meal."

"Great spot for date night! Service was excellent! We were able to try the halibut fest and we were not disappointed. Our wine flights were a good offering of each of the wines on that flight and I was able to taste two more options before I settled on my glass with dinner. I love the ambiance at CRU and will be back again soon for a girls night out!"

"I discovered this burger place 5 years ago and was coming regularly or uber/dash. They got my five stars for years !! Not anymore.. How disappointed i was on my last order and unfortunately not the first time ! Items were missing and i had to take my car (8:00pm) to find something to eat for my wife. Thank you !! The place is not that it used to be."

"People have told me that the service was terrible here but went to try it on our own and they had to comp half of our meal because we were left waiting over 40 minutes for our desserts. When the person in charge walked over and apologized, he thought we were waiting for our entrees. We let him know it was dessert and then our waiter came over and asked us what was it that you even ordered .... tried to give them a shot but will probably not be coming back."

"The Bluegrass Brunch at The Old School was so fun! It's a beautiful spot for brunch and the live entertainment was fantastic. We had a table of including one busy toddler and the service could not have been nicer. We tried the assortment of baked goods, which all were terrific and then two of us had the breakfast pizza a true work of art with perfect poached eggs and the other two had the farmer breakfast. We will definitely be back"

"Looking to expand our culinary experiences, we made a reservation without knowing exactly what to expect, aside from the great reviews on Open Table. It turned out to be a fantastic date night! Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, guiding us on wine choices and making excellent recommendations. While it's not a Michelin-starred restaurant, the cheese and meat platter was delicious, and the personal pizzas were just what we needed. Be sure to ask for the wine list, as their selections go beyond what’s on the menu. We even received a discount on the wine we bought to take home. There are still many places we want to explore, but we’ll definitely be returning!"
