"we made a reservation for the dining room on Thursday night and it was very busy! the dining room is large and open with high ceilings. it is absolutely beautiful, but it can feel more like a loud cafeteria than a fine restaurant. we were blown away from the cocktails: a sharp fig sidecar, granatapfel martini and blackcurrant limonade. absolutely delicious! the menu had a promising amount of vegan-friendly dressing, a few that vegan as-is (wg) and a few that could be changed vegan (wg.) we ordered the roasted artichokes with horseradish aioli (mwg) from the tapas menu, and I asked if the vegan version came with a vegan diving sauce. the server said something condesctive: "no, because aioli mayonnaise is." as if vegan mayonnaise is completely unheard. so they were served without soaking properly. the salat we ordered (wg) was delicious and equipped with pomelo, crunch, asparagus and pine nuts. for our entrees we ordered the buckwheat crepe (mwg) and the taste of the summer pasta (mwg.) the crepes were served with a vegan sauce and local seasonal vegetables and were delicious, but the pasta was made vegan by making the sose and was extremely bland – simply pasta and beautified vegetables. at $30 per escape I expect more effort, especially from a restaurant with a happy cow sticker in her window! I don't think it's right for vegans to pay the same price for a subpar experience, and a restaurant this caliber should have the ability to absorb vegans. if we go back, we would probably only visit the bistro for drinks."
