"I had been curious about Cardamom for a while and, finally, with very few other desirable choices nearby due to the late hour, I decided to check it out. Glad I did! As soon as I entered, the aroma from the kitchen had me convinced I 'd made the right call. The host and wait staff couldn 't have been more gracious and friendly. Although it was late and I was the last (and eventually the only customer, they insisted that I relax, take my time, and enjoy which I did... very much. The flavors and presentation are a bit different from the typical Indian restaurant. I do love the more traditional, but their little twist (extra cardamom, maybe? hence the name? definitely works for me and makes them stand out. Specifically, I found the Samosas, which they list as Singara , more on the refined side the filling not as mealy, and the pastry more like that of spring rolls. The Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani was sliced instead of cubed, and had that mystery (to me additional spicing in the sauce that was DELICIOUS. A very generously poured glass of Prisoner Merlot paired perfectly. Overall, my meal was not BETTER than the other fabulous Indian restaurants in LA, just different... in a way that I quite enjoyed."
