Business felt review was unfair as they were trying out new ideas from YouTube. Changed to 5 stars as per their request to support local business. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Had a disappointing experience tonight. Ordered a chirashi don through Uber Eats and usually received sashimi style slices of fish on rice. Instead, I received chopped fish with scrambled eggs. When I called, they explained it was part of a transition to AZN. Disappointed with the lack of assistance offered. Will not be ordering from them again as I can get better quality poke bowls for a lower price elsewhere. It's unfortunate to lose another option for decent quality sushi in the area."

"We were visiting Tomball and Bloofin came up as one of a handful of dinner choices on Open Table. Being Asian Americans, and from California, we have pretty high standards for authentic Asian food, especially Japanese. I'll be honest, even with high reviews, I was skeptical being we were in a small Texas town. Needless to say, we were very happy with everything we ordered which included a Bloofin special sushi and sashimi combo, a yellowtail sashimi dish, and squid sansai. The seafood fried rice was really good and the sashimi was quite fresh and tasty, too! Interestingly, they had a unique and authentic dish I have never seen in Japanese American restaurants, before. Service was great and we were well taken care of by our server Jose! The owner even stopped by to check on us and we briefly spoke, on the way out. The space is decorated in mostly a contemporary flair with a touch of a few asian design cues in a very open space. Overall, a very pleasant and satisfying dining experience! We will definitely come back when visiting Tomball, again!"

"It was New Year's Eve, and the waiter was very polite and friendly. However, it seemed that the kitchen wasn't quite ready for the rush that comes with the holiday. We waited 15 minutes for our cocktails and then an hour and 15 minutes for our dinner, which consisted of two entrees and a side. Unfortunately, the salmon was overcooked, dry, and not what we ordered. The eggplant was tasty, but the steamed bok choy lacked flavor. Overall, despite the issues with the meal, we had a decent experience. We were just happy to have a couple of hours to catch up without interruptions. In the end, we still enjoyed a wonderful New Year's Eve."

"I cannot say enough about this restaurant. My boyfriend was hesitant at first because the outside of the restaurant looked a little dark and the name was not very clear, but we still wanted to try it after checking all the reviews on Yelp and here. Oh my god, I am so happy we did. What an amazing Japanese restaurant in San Francisco with great deals, especially during Happy Hour. The fish is incredibly fresh and high quality, and the other dishes are also very good. We love Japanese food and are always on the lookout for a Japanese restaurant where we don't have to wait for hours or book way ahead of time due to popularity, and of course, not overpriced like many other Japanese restaurants. Please come and support their business, I'm sure you will be coming back every week just like us. There is plenty of street parking available along the sidewalk. I would give them 10 stars if I could."

"Be prepared because this might be a long review. Okay, me and my family of 7 adults and 4 children came in to celebrate my sister 's birthday. We asked them if they do all you can eat and they said yes. Okay, cool. We all sit down and we agree to the AYCE and begin ordering. We order about 5 plates of sushi and 1 order of fried rice for the kids. Next thing you know our server brings 4 plates of dumplings and a couple of bowls of edamame. We tell her, we didnt order it and she said its on the house from chef. We were confused but said okay. She then comes with more plates of dumplings and we ask her to stop because we didn 't order it. We sat there waiting for our sushi and it took about 35 minutes to bring out our 1 plate. 15 minutes later, the next one came. Because of how slow the service was, we made a big order for the next one so we dont have to keep waiting. The next order came aftee 30 minutes again. We were trying not to complain because we saw they were short staffed. And then we ordered again. As my brother was walking out with my sister, the head of the restaurant told them that because of us, they have to shut down the restaurant because they can 't serve all of us. He even told next time you guys come, we will have to deny you guys because of how many you guys are! Wait what? DISCRIMINATION! My older brother and sister gave him a piece of our mind and he did not apologize. He just shrugged and acted like we were the problem. But hold up, I didnt add the other petty things this man did. When he came around the table, i tried to be courteous and gather the plates and stack it for him and he goes Can you please not stack that? Because its hard for me to take it? And then when my sister lifted her glass for him to take to refill, he told her please put it on the table and then ill take it This asian man, looks like the head or manager of the restaurant was giving off this weird racist vibes since we got there. The fact he even blamed us that they have t9 close the restaurant because of our orders just shows how incompetent they are to run a business. Oh btw, we were the only family there for a good 2 hours so I dont know why it took so long for them to make our sushi. Please don 't go to this restaurant especially if you are of color. Just horrible!!!"

"When placing an order, the online menu said that the kids Sweet and Sour chicken came with “French rice”. I’ve never heard of French rice before, but to guarantee that the food came with white rice, I also made sure to write it in the comments “white rice for this order”.When the food was picked up, the kids sweet and sour chicken came with French fries (not white rice). Further, the sweet and sour chicken came without any sauce for the sweet and sour chicken. With this one item, the restaurant failed twice. I’m greatly disappointed at the restaurant ignoring the verification for white rice and just failing to include the sauce that is supposed to come with the Sweet and Sour Chicken."

"This was my first time trying this sushi spot and it was delicious and so worth your money! We came here around 5:30 on a Friday afternoon and we were sat right away but it got busy really fast so we definitely got lucky! All the rolls are made super fresh and the sushi rolls are huge. They also give hefty pieces of seafood and that's always a huge factor if sushi in my eyes. We ordered: edamame: 6.5 10 a little plain and definitely could use some more seasoning but it does come with a good portion and edamame itself is really addicting. Overall not really anything special though. New Alaska Roll: 10 10 huge pieces of fresh salmon! It comes with a piece of lemon on top which surprisingly made it even better. The sauce drizzled on top was also so yummy. Definitely recommend! Hollywood roll: 10 10 if you're a fan of typical lion king rolls, youll definitely like this one!! Crunchy Rainbow roll: 10 10 the crunchiness works so perfectly. It has tempura and spicy tuna who doesn't love both??!! It's also topped with salmon and tuna so it just had so many yummy seafoods all in one!! Overall I really loved this place for its quality sushi and I'll most definitely be back!"

"I love sushi, and I've been to allot of restaurants throughout the bay, and I gotta say that Nikko Sushi is probably my favorite place now. The service is ridiculously on point. The staff all greet you as soon as you walk in, and they're all so warm and friendly. The food is wonderful! We got the baked scallop roll, the raiders roll, the Lion King roll, and an appetizer of shrimp tempura. We also ordered some sake, because it was $1 an order, which consisted of about 4 little cups worth, and they also brought us miso soup. It was all so amazing!! I can't wait to go back, I really recommend this place!"

"We were told to expect a 20-minute wait, but ended up waiting 45 minutes. The veggie tempura and alashi tofu were overly greasy and lacked flavor. The veggie sushi roll was decent, but nothing impressive aside from its presentation. My husband’s sushi was either deep-fried or drowned in BBQ sauce, all mixed together to the point where it was nearly unrecognizable. The hot dishes were served alongside cold ones. I hope this isn’t typical for them. On a positive note, the dogs seemed to enjoy their meals!"

"I would consider this an overpriced restaurant, with average cuisine and poor customer service Beware of take out. They did not check my order for correctness. I live 1 minutes away and I like my food hot, so I got there a few minutes earlier than they suggested. I paid and waited since they stated order was not ready. I still managed to get cold food! Also, beware of allergies also as they did not care of my complaint that the shrimp ingredient as appetizer can be easily overlooked on the menu and the order taker did not point out. Furthermore if the shrimp was an appetizer, why the h... would they dump it with the rest of the entrée. For me being allergic to shellfish, it made the whole meal inedible. I was also disappointed by the chicken fried rice and biting into small gritty shards which I later assumed were either eggshells or small shards from a broken plate. I could get over most of this, but find myself motivated and disappointed enough to write a review due to lack of concern or empathy and from the restaurant staff and management. I called back as soon as I got home to my hungry guests and discovered the issues. The call taker seemed unconcerned about the shrimp incident or my dislike for having dumped an appetizer in the same container as the entrée. the caller mentioned a manager would call me back. 2 days waiting and I received no call! I would add the photos but I think the point that i will be spending my money elsewhere next time.!"

"This restaurant offers excellent sushi at affordable prices. I have visited several times and have always been pleased with the generous portions and wide variety of choices. The sushi dinner I ordered (chef's choice) included tuna, salmon, mackerel, whitetail, eel, shrimp, crab, and octopus. The California roll with avocado was particularly delicious. I enjoyed two plates of food and a beer for around $45, which was a much better deal than the $17 burger and fries I had at O'Hare Airport on my way here. It was a relief to find a place with good quality food that didn't break the bank."

"This restaurant offers great value, serving some of the best fish I've enjoyed recently. Including a 20% tip, the meal came to $22 per person, which covered tea, soda, salad, soup, tempura, a 10-piece chef's choice nigiri, and two specialty rolls. The salmon and eel were especially tender and flavorful, but the highlight was definitely the Hot Papa roll, which had the perfect combination of spice and richness. "I have eaten here — always pickup take-out — roughly five times total. The first time the food was great, and then it was hit or miss. However, tonight my order was seriously gross. I ordered 3 Spider Rolls. 2 of the 3 rolls had rancid soft shell crab that had obviously gone bad. Fresh or even relatively fresh crab turns a white-ish color when cooked. Very dark crab meat has absolutely gone bad. Unfortunately for my stomach, I was sitting in the dark watching Netflix, and took a big bite. I spit it out immediately and went into the kitchen to inspect my food. That’s when I saw the bad crab meat. 2 whole rolls were bad. The kitchen should have caught this prior to frying the soft shell crab, or at very least while cutting it. Hopefully, I won’t end up sick from this experience. Regardless, I will NOT eat at this restaurant again. Call me crazy, but when I pay $43 for sushi and a tip, I actually expect the food to be fresh. Try somewhere else, because it’s a total waste of hard-earned money. Foodborne illness isn’t worth it."

"Honestly, giving this restaurant one star feels generous. Paying $62 for food that was nearly inedible is beyond me. My aunt and I ordered a bento box that didn’t even come in a bento and a Pink Lady sushi roll. The roll was not edible; the crab mix was gritty, and the shrimp had a fishy taste that was far from just being deep-fried. My aunt's chicken teriyaki bento was disgusting—she had to send it back and ended up getting uncooked beef instead. When we expressed our dissatisfaction to the owner's wife and showed her the problems with our meal, she still didn’t seem to understand. Keep in mind this was after we had already paid. Overall, the food is not worth the money, nor is it worth ruining your taste buds."
