"Excellent choice for a taco Tuesday, with $3 tasty tacos. Hard to pick a favorite, but maybe the fish. The chicken with thin strips of breaded chicken is a sleeper, and al pastor and steak are solid. Lots of other weekly specials, and the micheladas are sweet and spicy goodness. "Pleasantly surprised by this local favorite. We were fortunate to have this place open back up from COVID-19 as we were passing through. I will admit I was surprised at how the place does actually serve like a cafeteria. The portions and the food was amazing though. If you are like me and like to get more than one main entree, the cost can add up quickly. I still highly recommend this place and would definitely go back if I am ever in that town again."

"I'm generally not into southern food however this place was pretty good. We order the fried chicken which was well seasoned and fried. Our chicken was not dry at all. I ordered their Small plate which was perfect size for me. Sides we ordered were also well made and fresh. Staff was attentive and our waitress was very friendly, attentive and chatty. Not just with us but all her tables. She had great energy. I would definitely come back just because of how welcoming they are here."

"They have been making some changes recently, which has caused the service to slow down a bit over the past few weeks. However, I visited on Saturday and it seems like things are getting back on track. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is cozy, and the service is very good. This place offers the best home-style breakfast I've found for miles. The trip is definitely worth it! Their biscuits and gravy are unbeatable, and I almost want to keep them a secret!"
"I've dined at other Lizard Thicket locations before, but I was disappointed with the quality of food here. We had lunch there twice while working in the area, and both times, the food fell short. It was nothing like the chicken dinner I enjoyed at their other location. I ordered the leg and thigh dinner, and it was incredibly dry and lacked flavor. It was not good at all."

"First time coming here and will never return. I read all the great reviews and it made me want to try it out. But regret. My bf ordered huevos rancheros and the meal was terrible, the beans and tomato salsa tasted like pure cumin. It was not enjoyable at all. The Horchata was really good but the cup’s rim smelled like old egg, as if they don’t properly wash the dishes. I ordered chilaquiles and they were ok. Overall it left us never wanting to come back."
