"I have been there countless times for birthdays, celebrations and business dinners and Bar Frites never disappoints. The food is consistently fantastic, the ambience is terrific and lively and the wait staff are always delightful and accommodating (including, but not limited to our favorite waiter, Jack). Our all times favorites are the fish tacos, scallops and rib eye steak. Leave room for dessert as the strawberry napoleon and apple tart are heavenly."

"As you can see I have visited this establishment before. Post pandemic has definitely changed this establishment. No more free chips and salsa while you look at the menu and decide what drink your going to order. The price of the margaritas went up drastically. The price of the tacos shot through the roof, imagine six dollars for one taco!! Umm crazy!! Being born and raised in this neighborhood, I can definitely say that gentrification and the pandemic has definitely effected pricing. The nachos plate came with seven chips, IN the entire plate! Where have you ever seen this? This appetizer was $14 for seven nachos and small amount of chicken. Burritos are normally huge and exploding with flavor, this $19 burrito was not any of that. Small plate def not with the cost. I know that very thing has gone up but when you give a patron something worth while, they will be back. I can say good bye and not feel bad at all."

"The food drinks were great as always, but we had to ask four times for bread before getting a bread basket. We even asked two people, including our server. Then, the bread basket we got was nowhere near as full as usual, and the bread was so over baked that we couldn’t eat it. We told our server, and he said he’d get us a fresh bread basket, but we never got one. Service is usually better than this at Bar Frites, but our experience that night was very frustrating."

"Alas, was promised to be a very nice Vietnamese meal turned out to be a pretty tasteless American version of Vietnamese food. I am giving it to stars because the setting with the bar is pretty pleasant. Also a great location. The appetizers including thefried rolls and steamed buns were pretty good. It led us to expect something better. But then came the strangely cut papayasalad that had no taste. Anyone who has had papaya salad knows it should be sour and spicy and sweet. This had nothing. The ribswere coated in caramel glop. The curry was watery and tasted of bell peppers. I won’t even mention the other dishes. I amsure they mean well, but sorry it is not a Vietnamese restaurant!"

The experience terribly : I made the reservation as today is my mothers birthday, and I added a note about us using a Groupon I have the reservation message) The waitress called himself manager named Rene Earlier man without teeth not using mouth protection all the time while serving) He knew, as I mentioned, we traveled to Houston and bought a Groupon after we read the excellent reviews on the food. When we finished eating, he brought us the bill without asking for it we were the only table at The restaurant, so they were not busy). He didn’t accept Groupon as he said that Groupon was for brunch. They have brunch only on certain weekends even though the description says “Every day,” and he read the descripción of the voucher and said that is a mistake. We needed to pay without a coupon we were four adults and a kid, and he added the tip himself on the ticket plus he brought another ticket with the tip line clear so we could add even more money on the tip he decided to charge us without us to choose the amount. Sadly the food doesn’t belong on that poor level of service just be aware !"

"I’ve recently started ordering from them based on the recommendation of a work colleague. The food is good, however the issue lies with their male workers.I wanted to order via Grubhub recently. The salad that I normally ordered via phone was not on the Grubhub menu. I called and was told to choose the Chicken Salad and to call back and let him know when I’ve ordered so he can make the correct salad. While speaking to the 1st person, I asked to speak to the manager, twice and my request was not granted. I retreated and did what was told. When I called back to let the 1st person I had spoke with known that I placed the order, but no, I was met with another aggressive employee telling me to cancel the order because the chicken salad at $14 on the app is cheaper than the salad I want, which it’s not. I asked to speak to the manager, again my request was denied. I asked to speak to the manager because they should be able to tell me what to do. There’s not enough chiefs and way too many bosses. You lost a good customer."

"After making my lunch reservation to this local pizza bistro place I didn't expect much however, as soon as I entered the restaurant, that all began to change. I expected to see a typical pizzeria type atmosphere. Instead, I entered a cozy bistro with a warm inviting decor. We tried the sausage/broccoli flatbread appetizer which was delicious! I ordered the mussels for my entree and was given a choice of three different sauces. I had the white wine sauce. The mussels tasted fresh and the sauce was very good. For dessert I had the chocolate mousse. It was light, airy, and very smooth and creamy. I can't wait to tell my friends about this place and come back when the weather gets warm to sit and dine outside."

I've met my friend I haven't seen for a long time, and we've lost time, but we've asked if it's okay that it wasn't busy and the server said we're totally in order. this rude dame came to our table and mumbled in Turkish “fallar fallandi” then she continued “it is not a starbucks” and accused my friend with a Turkish mentality on a bad wise that is unacceptable and very rude. we ruined our nights. I am shocked that this kind of racist and rude lady can still work there."

"We went here for the first time, and it will most likely be our last. The first problem was, there were about ten tables in use, and ours was the only table that didn't have a screaming child sitting at it. So it was loud. I did like the live music, though. Ordered the shrimp bento box. Shrimp were hard, tempura was tasteless and soggy, wontons not cooked all the way through. The fried rice was very good. I tried a bite of my husband's steak and spit it out, as it felt like it had already been chewed by someone else. The wait staff were good, and the bar looked like it was lively, but I wouldn't come here for food again."

"We went here over the weekend for my birthday. We got the buffalo spring rolls, clams on the half shell, the pork chop with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes, ribeye with steak fries, creme brule cheesecake and a pineapple martini. The only thing we didnt enjoy were the buffalo chicken spring rolls. Not really the chefs fault though bc we think the chicken was just a bad cut. 2/5 rolls had rubbery chicken. I am still giving this place 5 stars though because 1. Everything else was delicious 2. The service was fantastic and 3. The place really has a nice ambiance. Deff on the list of places to go back to."

"Disappointed to learn Sabatino 's (one of our favorite reliable go to places) is closing. As soon as I heard I made a reservation knowing it would soon be impossible to get in. Unfortunately, it seems the incredibly busy pace is wearing on everyone. The food was not as good as usual, seemed to be missing seasoning and pasta was overcooked and glutenous...we didn 't send it back as everything was taking so long (3 hour meal start to finish). The staff was surly as we overheard a server calling another a name, we waited 20 min. for our reserved time and overall it just wasn 't the send off of an old friend that we 'd hoped for. The ONLY reason I am writing this review is to inform the restaurant as they still have 3 months to make some changes in order to accommodate this incredibly busy period and continue to be a fun time for their customers if they are aware of where they are missing. We wish the Owners and staff all the very best and will miss them for sure!! Thanks for great memories..."

"Decent pizza, average food, painfully slow service. Maybe going on a crowded Saturday night wasn't the best choice? Despite having a reservation we had to wait 25 mins to be seated. They gave us a high top table in the front of the restaurant so then we got to sit while soooo many people were crammed in around us waiting to be seated....so much so our waitress had trouble getting to us. Our waitress was really nice, just very slow and seemed to be unorganized? Forgot about the bottle of wine we ordered, brought us the wrong one , but we had waited 40 mins for a drink so we told her to just open the one she brought, fearing we wouldn't get the correct bottle for an hour...egg roll appetizer was good as was the coal fired pizza. The eggplant rollantini was not good: eggplant wasn't sliced thin enough and there was far, far too much ricotta on the plate, seemed sloppy and made by a junior staff member. Overall it's an okay place to stop by if you're in the area but I probably won't be back."

"So, we were traveling through Rochester and got on Open Table. We found this place and picked it because of their early bird. The early bird was until 6:00 and had a great deal of problem just finding this place but still got there by 5:54. Well the place was nearly empty but by the time they got our table ready it was6:04 and we were too late to get the early bird. I mentioned our plight but to no avail. apparently it was a ‘computer problem’. Really. So we ordered off thee menu and had mediocre bar food."
