"Went here for brunch on Easter Sunday. Got a meat filled breakfast burrito. It was tasty, however, there may have been too many different kinds of meat in it as it was difficult telling what I was tasting at times. They had complimentary mimosas on this day. The mimosas were a little too heavy on the OJ, but hey, they were complimentary. My family split a shrimp cocktail which consisted of over a dozen shrimp, so great portion size. Best of all, it was a great deal for the price of the meal. Walked away with a full belly without breaking the bank. Can't wait to go back again"

"When we arrived, there were some very loud individuals outside smoking, and one of them looked particularly unkempt, which was quite off-putting. Inside, the ambiance was still reminiscent of a VFW hall, making it feel less family-friendly and more geared towards bar patrons. The burgers were just average; the meat lacked seasoning and flavor. We opted to pay extra to substitute fries instead of the standard chips that come with the burger, but honestly, they weren’t worth the additional cost. For the prices they charge, fries should be included with the burger. The spinach and artichoke dip was also overpriced for what it was and wasn't anything special either. Overall, there’s nothing noteworthy about this place. We won’t be returning—our experience was not worth our time or the nearly $100 we spent. What a letdown!"

"We enjoyed the guacamole and salsa. The medium guacamole and it was fairly spicy. Each person ordered a different kind of enchiladas and tacos and then we traded around so that everyone could try several kinds. We were severed quickly which would be good for people who have an evening engagement. Our only complaint was that it was quick noisy which made it difficult to hear each other at our table."

"Anniversary dinner with our two children, 8 and 10. We decided to sit out on the porch on a fairly humid June evening and the ceiling fans made for a nice breeze. We find most restaurants to be overly air-conditioned, but Metro 8 didn't seem like a fridge even when we walked in - that's a huge plus for me! Our waitress was very nice and attentive without interfering. She noted that it was nice to see kids with books (and math in our conversation) instead of iPads. The steaks my husband and I ordered were as advertised and delicious. So were the pages. Our girls loved their grilled chicken. Cocktails were good and just the right strength. Highly recommended."

"After many positive experiences here today was absolutely awful, walk into a loud children's party going on.. not really the place for that.. 20 mins to get our drinks, 30 mins for the appetizers (mozzarella sticks) another 30 mins for the entree to show up, to be served cold half cooked chicken wings with our any sauce and the worst beef on weck to be found in buffalo... "First and foremost, I’ve never been to a restaurant where I was forced to pay for a drink I did not want after taking one sip from it all because the Bartender did not know what she was doing the night of 1/20/25. The first drink I ordered was a mango margarita with Patron’, then the second drink I ordered was a Lime margarita except this time I asked if it could be put in a regular glass because the first Margarita was in a huge goblet with tons of ice and I could barely taste the liquor. She said ok, then returns to the table with the exact same glass I asked her not to put the Margarita in, she started to get frustrated as soon as her mistake was pointed out, took the huge Margarita back and brought it out in a smaller glass. I took one sip from it and almost Gagged because this was not the same tequila used in the first one, it was a much cheaper one like Cuervo. I POLITELY told her I didn’t want it and could she take it back, she says ok, leaves the drink on the table and walks away. Out comes a tall woman with dark hair and glasses standing over me with a crazy look saying, “ I heard you don’t like the drink? It’s the same Tequila as the first one.” I told her, “ No it’s not. I can taste the difference and I don’t want it, can you take it back?” She stares at me and says, “ I’m not taking it off the bill!” I then proceeded to tell her again, “ I don’t want it and YOU ARE NOT GONNA MAKE ME DRINK SOMETHING I DONT WANT!!!” As a Bi-racial woman of both Blk Sicilian descent) I knew exactly what this was. It wasn’t about the drink anymore, it had now become an issue of defiance, authority and disregard for what I the paying customer) wanted. I was not asking for anything FREE, but rather for an item that I did not fully consume to be taken off the bill. Once I seen that this was going no where and that she was ready to go back and forth with me over a nasty, watered down $13 Margarita, I decided to pay for the drink I DID NOT even consume. Not only did my guess and I have to experience this, but she comes back around on the side we’re sitting on and starts stacking the chairs on the tables and turning off all the TVs on the left side where we were sitting, while leaving the TVs on the right side of the room on where there were 3 or 4 ppl left. Basically sending a non-verbal que for my guest and I to leave. I did not get her name, but I have no problem returning there to point her out. She has poor managerial skills and needs to be FIRED IMMEDIATELY!!!! At the end of the day, don’t cheat your customers out of their hard earned money, she is a poor representation of your company and the “Modern Day Racism” shouldn’t be tolerated within your business!!!"

"Update 10/29/19: I ordered the same meal but unfortunately NOTHING was the same. the gravy was nonexistent, the “meat” was not browned, it tasted disgusting and I’m shocked to say this! It was my favorite meal. It tasted so bad, I called back afterwards to make sure the chef didnt change recently! I ordered it to go and i still tipped 20. I will try it one more time in the restaurant but I will NEVER order to go from them again!!! My original review below:: 4 stars:: WOW!!! Flavor profile party !!!! When I first walked it, I thought it was “interesting “. The menu is an old fashioned newspaper format and there are some interesting decorations. I ordered the Shepard’s pie-Veggie......ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!!!!! i wish i could swim in a pool of it!!!!!"

"High Tides Cafe is a fantastic spot with ample space for large groups. I enjoyed sitting at their outdoor tiki bar while sampling some of the food. The prices are fair, and the loaded nachos topped with shredded pork were especially delicious. My server, Aaron, was both friendly and well-informed about the menu. The outdoor deck offers a beautiful view of the water and a stunning sunset. I’m eager to return and explore more of High Tides Cafe’s menu and their tempting special drinks."
