"As a local (10 mins down the road), I have been blessed to have been able to enjoy “The Tav” for 20+ years now. Food is ALWAYS good and worth the wait if there is one, however I will say service has changed since the ownership change. The last 3 times I have come in for dinner in the last month, I’ve had an embarrassing experience during seating each time. We always knew it as the place to grab an empty table. It clearly presents itself as a seat yourself joint. That is not the case anymore and there should *definitely* be signs now to indicate that. If I’m a local being embarrassed during seating, out of towners are definitely feeling it. Once on a slow afternoon, we tried to push tables together and got in trouble, totally understandable. But tonight was unacceptable. As a party of 3, we walked in, saw an empty table and sat down. Waitress chastised us and said “You can’t sit there, there are people who have been waiting.”, so I said “Where?”, she said “Out on the patio, you’ll have to wait.”.okay. Another way to phrase that would have been: “There will be a short wait if you can stand over there.” A similar phrase was said to another group who came in after us. Or just SIMPLY put a “Please wait to be seated” sign out. The embarrassment is starting to outweigh the food and atmosphere experience and I truly HOPE the owners or management take this to heart because I love coming here. We are fine adapting, but help us out!"

"Spent $137 on food there. Ordered 3 polish platter, fried pickles, fried pretzel bites and loaded pierogies and a polish Reuben with tater tots.. The items in the polish platter was unseasoned which after I added my own seasoning was edible. However the waitress was giving us an attitude upon ordering saying that we could only get the farmers cheese pierogies and not the potatoes and cheddar ones. After we said we would cancel our order she said the cook would do it. The fried pickles were disgusting the batter was soft and mushy and all of it was dripping in grease... horrible. The pretzel bites were a full sized pretzel cute into slices and saturated in butter. Then all the pretzel salt was at the bottom of the box not even any on them. And the cheese that goes with it wasn't the best either. I was expecting pretzel nuggets when they said bites which might have tasted better. The Reuben was Turkey and cheese but the tots were very under cooked and had to be thrown out. The only thing that was worth its money was the loaded pierogies.. I got it without tomatoes and they were amazing! All in all I had to throw out the soggy pickles and saturated in butter pretzel bites cause they were gross. All this food definitely was not a $137 I would have expected to pay about $60 for the quality. Hopefully this post can save you some money before you go... it was definitely not worth my time or money to go get food from there...I was overall disappointed.... literally I wasted about $40 worth of food throwing it out..."

"Gave Prohibition Gastropub a shot for the first time on a recent Friday night. I was not disappointed and in fact, surprised at how much I enjoyed my food! It had come recommended from friends. I'm not easily impressed or enthused over restaurant food typically. I'll certainly eat at a number of places but, usually on those occasions we're away from home for awhile or not wanting to cook. Many times I'll regret the money spent, as a home-cooked meal is tastier for far less. Fortunately for me, my husband is a fantastic cook so it's difficult for restaurants to beat or compare to what we can have at home. I've never had chicken and waffles but finally decided to go for it and I'm so glad I did here! The house-made jalapeño jelly was SO GOOD. I'd make food just to have something to put it on! I even asked if they bottle and sell it. I don't care for spicy, so if that's what you're after, that's not the dish for you, but it was beyond delicious on perfectly cooked, crispy outside, fluffy inside waffles. The chicken was covered in a not-too-thick breading that was impressively crispy. No soggy, grease-soaked blanket covering the chicken. I'm not a huge fan of deep fried foods in general but the flavor was great and consistency just right. That being said, I'd walk back in and order just the waffles with jalapeño jelly because it was THAT good! We usually don't find ourselves in the trendier, um, hipster-ish sort of establishments and this one definitely falls into that category. It usually seems the flavor and originality in recipes doesn't add up to those recent WA price hikes. However, I'd go back here again and just may have to get 2 menu items to have the waffles again and and try something different. My husband enjoyed his burger and salad. The most spicy burger he could find on the menu, as usual. He wasn't as enthralled as I was with my food but said the flavor was good and unique. His only complaint was the patty being a bit on the greasy side. They were also lacking whole anchovies for his salad. They had seating when we arrived at 6:30 but had a line by 7. We waited quite awhile for our food (didn't order drinks) but our server was very apologetic, kept us in the loop and kept checking on us. Services was good, 2 other staff members stopped to ask about our food and refill drinks. Everyone we spoke to was genuine and pleasant, happy to converse outside the scripted bubble when we had questions about the menu. There were 2 sides of seating, plus bar. Volume was comfortable, no rowdy or inappropriate talk going on around us. Enough of a traditional restaurant to bring the kids along. I want to reiterate, that jalapeño jelly was stellar! Perfect blend of textures and flavors. Thick, no watery runoff. To die for!"
