"We have been visiting this restaurant for 13+ years, the service is never really the ?best? anyways, but we had the WORST experience a few nights ago. We had a younger female as our waitress and off the rip she had an attitude with me, in front of my7 and 5 year old. (Maybe she was intimidated because we seemed close in age and she seemed embarrassed to be a waitress? Notsure. We ordered our food, again we have been coming here for years and we order the same thing every time we come. Well, thefood came out and mine was wrong, no big deal, I said ?hey sorry my order is wrong? and with the nastiest attitude, our waitressARGUED not even a nice tone, and said ?well she didn?t order that. I didn?t get it wrong? we proceeded very confused with?okay? Well, we just want it fixed? and we were told ?well if you would have ordered it right the first time? starting toaggressively argue with my husband, again IN FRONT OF OUR CHILDREN, I cut her off and asked for a different server and she saidshe couldn?t do that. So we found the manager and requested one and immediately received someone else. In return, the waitresswe dealt with originally huddled around the bar with the other servers laughing at us and speaking about us loud enough for usto hear. The whole experience was uncomfortable. Before leaving we addressed the matter with the SAME manager again and we weretold she was ?special? and literally NOTHING was done about the scenario. They allowed the staff to treat us in such anunprofessional manner. I was and still am truly appalled. Safe to say, it is NOT an environment for children and families. Wewill NEVER return again and we will report the incident to the BBB"

"Before I start I 'm just going to say this place is amazing! You can stop there if you want, just go and enjoy, otherwise, let 's just proceed. Atmosphere is your typical festive Mexican environment so nothing bad there. Service: Everyone is super friendly. Hostess was ultra nice and upon sitting the server hit me with an Hola and tbh, I don 't think anyone has done that to me at a Mexican restaurant around here. I was presented with the chips and salsa and when I came back from there was also a container of Guacamole puree with some heat and spices in a bottle. I sampled it and wow! So good! I ate half of the the bottle with my chips and tortillas throughout the meal. I ordered my go to, the choripollo. Rice and beans were on point. Exactly how they should be. Moist and flavorful rice and beans had a great flavor and wasn 't flat at all. Chicken had a great marinade and of course being covered with the perfectly seasoned chorizo and cheese sauce. They aren 't relying in the sauce ontop to flavor the chicken like others do. Amazing flavor and couldn 't be happier 5/5 all day, everyday! Even though this is my second Mexican restaurant in High point I hage visited to review I will be HARD PRESSED to go elsewhere in HP so I can keep reviewing. I 'm literally writing this review while eating at a Mexican restaurant in Clemmons eating ok food (review coming) and finding myself closing my eyes and wishing I was back at San Luis eating."

"One downside is the location’s convenience; it’s situated in the center of the shopping area, and I'm uncertain if there are any designated handicap parking spots available, which is something to keep in mind. I opted to sit on the patio, which was pleasant and dog-friendly, but despite plenty of servers around, we waited a solid 20 minutes without chips. By the time they arrived, the queso was cold, and I expected chips to be the first item on the table. The drinks, while not made from overly sweet artificial margarita mix, also didn't impress. On the positive side, the salsa was fresh and delicious. The guacamole tasted great too, but its smooth texture was a bit off for my taste; I prefer chunky guacamole, which made me question its freshness—it reminded me of the packaged kind from the store. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the flavor, but some chunkiness would enhance it. For my entree, I ordered the Quesabirria, and it was really good! It came with three tacos, double-wrapped in tasty corn tortillas, griddled with a flavorful consommé, and generously filled with tender meat and melted cheese. The consommé was thick and hearty, clinging nicely to the tortilla, and I appreciated the cilantro and onions in the broth. Personally, I would have liked extra cilantro and onions on the tacos, but I suppose I could have requested that. I also ordered a side of rice, but they initially brought me fries. Thankfully, the rice didn’t take too long to arrive after that slip-up. While the rice was decent, it wasn’t my favorite—it could have used a bit more flavor. My friend ordered the ACP Texano and enjoyed it. I've had some decent experiences at Monte D's, but I haven't been overwhelmingly impressed. It’s a convenient option for a quick meal, but with so many similar restaurants in the area, I'm not sure this one stands out enough. I enjoy the cuisine, but there’s definitely room for improvement to reach that next level of greatness!"
