"The Saltwater Grill has been a Galveston staple for some time. I was encouraged that the menu has been updated with new items, while preserving some of their best offerings - I swear the Shanghai Delight is laced with Prozac because I'm always happy when I eat it. This time I tried one of their new "naked" offerings, hoping the fish would be allowed to shine. I had the grilled redfish, which was done perfectly - the very thin edges were a little crisp and carmelized but the fish was still moist and flavorful. I did miss the bread - this was one of the few restaurants in town that started with something with substance, so I was quite disappointed when a little crock of crackers appeared instead of bread. The restaurant is very noisy - I was ok hearing my companions but certainly couldn't hear the server well."

"I was in your restaurant today to pick up two orders that totaled $35.00. I called your restaurant because the order was wrong and I was sent to your so called manager she told me that i didn 't pay for my food and i never told them i wanted meat. I told the waitress directly that I wanted meat not chicken. I know what i said. This chick hung up in my face. So is this how you train your managers? to hang up in customers face because they don 't agree with what they said? well, you may have gotten away with it this time, but rest to sure, I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO YOUR ESTABLISHMENT. EVER. AND I will let my company know not to patronize. We have patronized your restaurant since you opened. Totally disrespect. NEVER AGAIN!."

"I visited this restaurant in the summer and had a fantastic experience. Knowing I would be back in October for a conference, I was eager to return. When I arrived at 5:30 without a reservation, the manager informed me that I could either sit at the bar or at a 2-person table, but the table had a reservation for 7. Despite the early hour, it seemed like the staff was concerned about seating us. The food was average at best. We ordered fried green tomatoes and requested them plain with the sauce on the side. Unfortunately, the tomatoes were thickly sliced and the batter was bland. There was also fried mozzarella between the tomato slices. The sauce served with the tomatoes was subpar. My Caesar salad with grilled shrimp was decent, but my coworker's Caesar with blackened chicken was tasty. We both enjoyed our sweet tea, but the mashed potatoes we ordered as a side were disappointing. The service was mediocre, and overall, we left feeling unsatisfied. I doubt I will give this restaurant another try in the future."
