"This adorable place is about 10 blocks from Oracle Park. The food is a bit better than good. The service from our server tonight was lackluster. She was sweet, but everything took incredibly long. The server said it was because the Giants game had just let out. However, if you 've been in business for 140 years and 25 of them have been down the street from the ballpark AND across the street from a hotel, the restaurant is not planning well. 30 mins to get a glass of wine (my husband 's cocktail arrived sooner than the wine . 45 mins for appetizers, though entrees arrived in a reasonable amount of time after the apps (significantly longer than after ordered, though . I know that food delivery times are not the server 's fault, but our server was confused and misrang several items, none of which were modified. At the end, someone else came and asked if we needed anything (it was just after close, but 1.5 hours after we arrived . We asked for a box and our check. When the check arrived, my husband immediately put his card down. Box never arrived. Our server came over and said we could flag anybody down to get the bill. We said we were all ready to pay and pointed out the card and added that we would still like a box. She said Oh! Awesome! I 'll find someone to bring you that box (why not just grab it herself??? and walked away from the payment. We were definitely confused. We watched her do sidework around the dining room for a bit before heading to the bar to pay the bill and ask for a box for the third time. Food as pictured. The jalapeno Avocado mousse on the arancini tasted like bagged guacamole, though the arancini by itself was awesome. The baked goat cheese was incredible!!! Wings were spicy as expected and well executed. Fries, the last appetizer to arrive at our table, were very fresh. We added bacon to the gnocchi which we really enjoyed (a play on a carbonara and we love the rigatoni every time we come here. Summary: visit this place! Atmosphere is cute, the history is cool, food is worth trying (price isn 't bad , but leave yourself plenty of time for service."

"First Impressions and Atmosphere: Upon arriving at Galletto Ristorante right as the doors opened at 4:30 PM on 07/27/2024, I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted personally by the General Manager. This warm and informative welcome set a positive tone for the evening, highlighting the restaurant’s unique connection with the Gallo Center for the Arts. Owned by the Gallo Center, Galletto Ristorante creatively adapts its ambiance to match the theme of the performances at the center. On nights without specific events, the restaurant features an eclectic mix of music; for instance, during my visit, they played delightful 60s music, adding to the charming and relaxing atmosphere. The decor of Galletto Ristorante is simply remarkable, blending traditional Italian elegance with contemporary touches. The outdoor seating area is a particular highlight, offering a five-star experience. The lush greenery surrounding the exterior adds a refined charm that enhances the overall atmosphere, making it an ideal venue for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings. During my visit, there were two large parties of 14+ guests, and the setting perfectly accommodated these events. Cuisine and Dining Experience: Galletto Ristorante prides itself on using freshly made, locally sourced, and farm-to-table ingredients. This commitment to quality is evident in the vibrant flavors and superior taste of the dishes, distinguishing the restaurant not only in Modesto but across the region. The freshness and authenticity of the ingredients provided a refreshing and distinct dining experience. However, there were a few aspects of the dining experience that merit attention. Both my guest and I found the sauces on our entrees to be overly salty. I would recommend ordering sauces on the side to tailor the flavor to your preference and especially for those with dietary restrictions such as high blood pressure. Service: While the initial greeting by the GM was exceptional, the overall service had notable shortcomings. Despite being the first guests to arrive, it took approximately 33 minutes for us to be attended to for our drink orders. This delay was compounded by the unprofessional response from the staff member who eventually approached us. Such lapses are incongruent with the high standards expected of a restaurant of this caliber. Additionally, the replacement of used utensils was neglected; they were left on the table until dessert, which is a deviation from the attentive service typical of fine dining establishments. Value and Pricing: Galletto Ristorante is currently revamping its menu, and I believe a reassessment of pricing is warranted. Some dishes, given their portion size, taste, and quality, seemed overpriced. Furthermore, the dining experience spanned two hours, which suggests a need for more efficient service, particularly in light of the idle staff and observed delays. Overall Impression: Despite the areas needing improvement, the General Manager’s attentiveness and the outstanding quality of the food made my visit memorable. Galletto Ristorante offers a unique and culturally enriched dining experience that I look forward to revisiting. The restaurant’s innovative approach of aligning its themes with the Gallo Center for the Arts, coupled with its dedication to fresh, locally sourced ingredients, sets it apart. I anticipate that with some fine-tuning in service efficiency and pricing adjustments, Galletto Ristorante will continue to enhance its reputation and attract more guests. "Hello it took me time to get back to you with my feedback.I will start with some facts.This establishment offered me a window for my daughter celebration on the 2 5 2023 between 2:30 and 5 or 5:30 that doesn 't matter . But they placed in the contract food service for adults and kids at 4 which I didn 't pay attention to . People who came and didn 't play bowling we 're staying on an empty table. Drinks were not distributed we had to go in person to get them at the bar although there were 3 servers doing nothing. Kitchen refused to prepare the food early even though the bar area was completely empty. So I ordered extra food and that was Ok. They brought out the food. But for the preorder food was not OK to be prepared early? Then kids start eating their food at 4 and servers didn 't pour their drinks , parents were doing that. They didn 't serve the food parents did that. One of the servers said that this was not their job. She was "Do I really have to pour the lemonade ? "The food that I ordered for the adults was served at 4 it was obviously too late already and the food that I ordered extra was served on the bowling tables and they rushed to moved us out even though they said we can stay there. OP management were not cooperative , rude and aggressive. In this business you supposed to accommodate the customers. This is not a school cafeteria that works on strict schedule. The whole system of service in this establishment is extremely poor, unorganized and chaotic. I am very disappointed that this didn 't work out well for me and my guests. Those servers were doing incoherent things opposing my decision about cake placement, table set up and organizing of service. I ve been in this industry for 15 years and it bothers me that people don 't understand and can 't predict the needs of a customer. You simply can 't serve food 30 min before the end. I know we spoke about the food but i was never mentioned the hours i didn 't see it coming. How can you invite people adults at 2:30 and suggest them to stay there 2 hours with no food. And the place was empty. A la card menu was open but the preorder food not.Bartender was 1 person and you had 3 OP managers? Bartender was slow unorganized and rude too. I would have to say that the whole personal there needs additional training. I will definitely recommend to all of my friends not to come to that establishment. Since the whole class of my daughter 's private school was there and no one was satisfied you can make sure of the negative impact to that establishment. Bowling , food , games is good order in general but refusing the food for the adults was terrible idea. I made sure that people who were there can eat and your stuff refused to get it because they put on the contract 4 o 'clock. For kids fine but for us????
