"The restaurant had a fantastic atmosphere, delicious food, and great service. Even though the kitchen was closing soon after we arrived, the staff was very accommodating. We enjoyed the dry herb seasoned wings, which were delicious, the tinga tacos, which were good, and the chipotle chicken burrito, which was excellent. The cocktails were also excellent."

"Wow, we were truly impressed! The asada wings were absolutely fantastic, and the roasted corn was to die for! Every aspect of our dinner was wonderful. Our server, Jesus, was incredible—so helpful and very attentive. He was just so sweet. We also got to meet the chef, Victoria, which was a lovely surprise! Everything was really amazing, and the atmosphere was perfect. I would definitely recommend this place!"

"6 family members gathered for brunch and holiday fun, but the experience was disappointing. We were not greeted as we walked in (first ones at opening) but we were told immediately that our party had a total of 90 minutes. Once we were seated, our server tried to take our drinks but she kept getting them wrong, although she told us of the $18 bottomless mimosas, but then warned us that we couldn’t share or we would be charged a fee. Once we ordered, several dishes came back wrong. So we waited more. The food itself was good, most of us ordered chilaquiles, but it was mostly tortilla chips with your choice of eggs on top. No beans or rice (traditionally served). Several of us ordered coffee and we had to keep looking for our waitress for refills. She was not readily available. They never came back to refill mimosas, which were plain and we could not taste any bubbly. I do not recommend."

"This review is for the Lil Donkeys take out menu experience. (Virtual carryout available online from the restaurants in this group. I am a long time Bien Trucha fan, and I thought this was an interesting concept. I wasn't sure what to expect for the size of the burritos, so we ordered 5 (2 carne, 2 chicken, 1 camaron and the nachos with chicken. My husband enjoyed the carne burrito, and I LOVED the camaron. Neither of us cared for the chicken seasoning. It had a strong flavor, similar to some moles where it was a bit sweet or something. It was edible, just not something we'd order again. The Lil donkeys turned out to be decent size, so we each ate one along with some nachos, which had that same spiced chicken... It was easy to order online, but the estimated wait time was 30-35 minutes. Then when I placed my order, it was a 50 min. wait time... Not real happy about that as we were hoping to pick up something quick while we were out and about running errands. Thankfully, Bien Trucha had room at the indoor bar, so we bellied up and enjoyed 2 cocktails each while waiting on the food. I drank palomas and my husband had something from the margarita menu. As always, their drinks are delicious, and we could have knocked back a few more. We had time to wait, but they are both strong and pricey, and we weren't planning for the impromptu day drinking. Glad we tried the burritos."

"Not only was the food outstanding but the service was excellent. Our server was attentive and very quick. We had a later reservation but arrived early and were seated immediately. The pork shank was unbelievable, so tender it just fell away from the bone, I was in heaven. The smoked barrilla was excellent and flavorful. Tortillas were delicious! Mojitos are a must here. Will be a stop each time I visit Phoenix."

"My new favorite Mexican restaurant in the Lake Mary Sanford area. The place was on a wait when we arrived and we were told it would be 15-20 minutes. About 15 minutes exactly and we were seated. Our waiter was polite, friendly and made some recommendations. My brother decided to try the huge margarita which he barely finished since it was so big. My beer was cold and the mug was served frozen which I always appreciate. Since the restaurant was busy I assumed the food might take longer then I expected but it came out promptly. Everything was hot and delicious. We had some great leftovers which reheated easily the next day. We will definitely be back. Thank you!"

"Horrible experience. We were a party of five seated right away. After 45 minutes none of us had our drink orders despite the appetizers being delivered. At 90 minutes two of us still didn’t get our first drinks (a diet soda and a margarita) and two of us didn’t have our entrees. We repeatedly asked for the manager who didn’t come talk to us until 90 minutes when we were more than ready to leave and never return. The manager blamed the waiter but we blame the management who clearly kept seating people despite being understaffed."

"This is my absolute favorite place to visit. The atmosphere is consistently fantastic! The drinks are incredible, and the bartenders are outstanding. The energy is vibrant, the music is great, and it’s definitely a must-visit spot. "The atmosphere is really lovely. It's too bad the food and service isn't so great. The flatbread is not a flatbread. It was really small and was probably a cheese Celeste pizza to be honest. The chicken satay was good with the sauce really tasty but they kept calling it kabobs. They were far from kabobs they were chicken satay. They offered sliders which we ordered as well because the servings were really small and for a small cheese frozen Celeste pizza, we paid $23. They have sliders on the menu, but no fries. Fries would have been nice and really who doesn't have fries on their menu these days? Service oy! The only waitress on staff last night kept passing by us. When we first got sat down, she passed us at least two times without saying as much as a hello. We finally got her attention and she said she would get back to us because she was busy. We had a show to be at 7pm and made our reservation at 5pm. We had to get up every time we needed to place an order and find someone. We placed orders to at least three different people. The venue could be magical but they are far from it. The wine we ordered was good and people seemed to enjoy the cocktails. As we were leaving, belly dancers came out, so that was cool. Where we were seated we wouldn't have seen them. As of today, I would not recommend Elsie. Time Square is a rip off but why do you have to be? Why not focus on great food/drinks and service and have people keep coming in. Maybe people wouldn't mind spending the money."

"We picked the wrong day to go for the first time to Talum. It was Valentines. Although the food was good and the ambiance was ok, the service was terrible. We sat on time, but didn’t get someone to take our drinks order for about 10 min. Then, another 10 to place an order of appetizer and 10 for dinner. Finally, it took one hour for our dinner to be served. One hour!!! Not good. However, we will try it again because the place is cute and food was ok. Will see."

"After finishing work, I was craving a quick meal before heading home, and I decided to drop by this restaurant—and I have no regrets! "It was Cinco de Mayo, but not too busy at 2pm. Sat indoors in a very cute restaurant. Great cold beer. Service slow to come to table despite mostly empty tables inside. Two of us split a combo fajitas. Very small portion with not much beef. Peppers and onions good. Chips were crisp. Guacamole was average. Not much spice. Will return for beer and nachos."

"I am allergic to spicy food but waiter was patient and went through the menu with me and even went to the kitchen to inquire. Enjoyed happy hour house margaritas since a Monday. "I visited Hoja Santa on a hot August night and noticed there was no air conditioning inside, plus there was an unpleasant smell upon entering. The service, however, was excellent—the waiter was very attentive. Prices were reasonable; with two entrees, an appetizer, and two drinks, my bill came to $90 including tip. The shrimp tacos were fantastic, but the enchiladas were overly salty—I even had trouble sleeping afterward. Despite the saltiness, I kept eating because I was so hungry. Overall, I believe there are better spots in Astoria where you can spend $90 and enjoy better food with air conditioning."

"Awesome, attractive conversation-friendly neighborhood spot. NOT your grandparents' Tex-Mex shredded protein/flour tortilla/cheddar cheese/refried beans enchiladas/tacos/burritos joint. Oh, we like those too, but Mercado takes a different approach. Familiar items are still on the menu, but with a much more authentic flavor profile highlighted by creative additions and attractive presentations. Great margaritas that reflect Chef's imaginative approach to her cuisine. We'd skipped lunch, so we sampled four small plates and two entrees, all of them fresh and tasty. The special seasonal guacamole is not to be missed. Again, not the guac you've grown accustomed to, but a blend of flavors and textures unlike any other. Other reviewers have complained about high prices, small portions, and the limited menu. We found none to be a problem. Most portions were quite generous; we took parts of our entrees home. Prices reflect the quality of ingredients and preparation and are reasonable for what you get. Tho the menu is not an encyclopedic as some Mexican restaurants, there is plenty of variety. We look forward to returning to sample other dishes of interest. This isn't just another Glen chain restaurant, but a refined and innovative take on Mexican cuisine. Service was earnest and attentive. Our only (minor) complaint was failure to refill water glasses as the restaurant got busier."
