"We had a reservation, but there was plenty of space, so we didn't have to wait. However, I can see how reservations will be essential during graduation season and other special events. Julianna opted for their twist on a Mimosa, which features prosecco, while I went for the 'Spicy' Watermelon Margarita, which includes jalapeño slices for an added kick. Both drinks were delicious.
To start, they served cornbread muffins with real butter and homemade grape jelly, which was a refreshing touch. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits, while Julianna chose the Eggs Benedict Meatloaf. Shrimp and Grits is a comfort food classic for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed Porters' take on it. The shrimp were perfectly sized, well-seasoned, and beautifully grilled. The grits were delightfully creamy, enhanced with a lovely white cheddar sauce.
Julianna's dish was quite intriguing as well. At the base, there was a slice of Texas toast topped with a generous square of meatloaf and poached eggs. She loved it, and I had a bite of the meatloaf, which was very tasty.
For dessert, we tried the Bananas Foster and their special chocolate cake. The Bananas Foster was standard, but it came with peanut butter ice cream, which was a delightful twist. The chocolate cake was amazing—think of a deconstructed lava cake served with raspberries and truffles. It’s hard to describe it without sounding extravagant.
Enjoy the accompanying pictures, and I hope you get as hungry as we did!"
