"I would have easily given this place 5 stars based on their food. However, the service and pricing were completely ridiculous. We were seated, and an older couple came in after we sat. I watched the owner point to a table without looking at them, and even though the woman said something twice he ignored her and kept walking. Not exactly a way to get return business! The look on her face said it all. After we placed our order (and the order was read back twice), the waitress brought our appetizers, but no plates to put anything on. Finally got some after asking, but then the older couple asked for a condiment, and the female owner literally snapped her fingers and pointed to the older couples table. Which the whole restaurant saw. Extremely unprofessional considering that she could have helped them, but instead went into another part of the restaurant and sat down. The waitress was the only one working and there were a handful of tables so she was super busy and definitely inexperienced. Our food came, and the waitress never cleared the table and then told us the kitchen made a mistake on my daughter's eggs. She wanted overmedium, but they were scrambled. She told us we'd have to pay extra for new eggs and the toast that she ordered. She had a complete meltdown about it, but she kept looking at the owner in a panic. That tells me he is not very business savvy and cares more about money than customers. What policy says that a customer should pay for your mistake? Also, why is your policy that if someone wants toast instead of pancakes, they have to pay $4?? I suggest taking a business class and retraining your staff unless you don't want to stay in business. I'm willing to pay for a good experience, but $100 for what we got was not worth it. Your food is good, but your lack of customer service, high prices, and business practices are certainly in need of an overhaul!"

"We really wanted to like Southern Belle's, we heard a lot of great things about the restaurant. Unfortunately, you can't always trust the opinion of others. The restaurant is located in downtown Barrington, its a beautiful building, the inside of the building beautifully decorated, very clean and modern looking. The waitstaff was extremely friendly, attentive, and kind. The issue was the food quality. Being a southern style restaurant, you expect a few great things, one of those being biscuits. So we ordered the buiscuit basket, the irish bennedict, and biscuits and gravy. The server brought the biscuits out, and we immediately thought BISQUICK.... (see pictures attached) they were cold, lumpy, and tasteless..... again, a southern restaurant should have good biscuits. Unfortunately, these did not come close to how a biscuit should look or taste. The coffee tasted like the grounds had been re-brewed again, and the orange juice tasted watered down. Our entrées were brought out, and boy were they disappointing. The irish bennidict eggs were aqueous and runny. The buiscuits and gravy we made with the same sub-par buscuits and the gravy tasted like it was made with the powder mix you get at Jewel. The gravy was tasteless. The only good item at Southern Bells were the hash browns. Due to their inability to make real buiscuits, we feel the Southern Food Comission should be contacted, and the name southern should be removed from this restaurants name. We give the building and the service staff a 10 out of 10, but the food is a negative 1. Due to the food quality and the cost per person, for sub-par food, we do not recommend this restaurant, and we will not be back."

"This Greek diner consistently delivers great service in a friendly atmosphere. One notable policy is the inclusion of a 20% gratuity for groups of eight or more, which worked well for us during a larger safety meeting. Our server, busser, and management team handled everything admirably, earning a round of applause from our group! The diner is known for its delicious soups and salads, and the attentive service from both staff and management is always appreciated. Portion sizes for the entrees are generous, and we were pleasantly surprised to find warm bread and plenty of butter on the table. For those interested, lunch and dinner specials are provided on a separate menu, and there’s often a daily prix fixe option. Don’t forget to check the main menu for breakfast specials as well! While the desserts look tempting, they tend to be quite sweet. All salads are served in large portions, and the homemade creamy garlic dressing is particularly tasty. The menu offers many breakfast items and entrees, including pepper beef, sea bass, cod, and chicken fettuccine Alfredo (the lunch portion was enormous!). The chopped steak was juicy, and all the breakfasts we've tried have been delicious. The Julienne salad is both large and flavorful! If you're craving something sweet, the Apple Pancake is a massive dessert, though it could benefit from a bit more apple and compote. Papa Nickolas Coffee is also a delightful choice. The bathrooms were clean but could use some improvement regarding wheelchair accessibility; entry can be challenging without assistance. However, there is a main entry door that is accessible for those who need it. For two dinner specials and beverages, the total came to around $38, plus a cash tip. Overall, a satisfying dining experience!"
