"I unfortunately visited this restaurant during their advertised happy hour from 5-6 pm, as stated on their website, only to be told that they would not honor happy hour pricing. The menu indicated happy hour was from 4-5 pm, so it was unclear why there was a discrepancy. To make matters worse, when I received my bill, the itemized amounts were even higher than the regular menu pricing. I felt as though I was being charged fraudulently, and when I brought it to the attention of the manager/waiter, they did not seem to care. This was a disappointing experience, especially since I was the only person in the restaurant at the time. Food: 4 stars."

"We have been coming to Pine Tavern for years. We had patio seating and the temp. was perfect with a mild breeze. We were a party of 6. The Rueben sandwich was very dry.....not much 1,000 Island dressing. One person in our party ordered ginger ale and when he asked for a refill, he was not informed that the ginger ale was not a free refill and charged them for a second drink. We all felt that the server should have explained that this is from the bar and not a free refill. Other than that, we had a very nice time together."

"Was truly looking forward to visiting this location, went early on a Saturday night with another couple prior to going to a show at Westville. Service was excellent, drinks were good, but the kitchen totally sucked. And their lack of effort to make it rightwas disheartening! Had to leave the restaurant with not having eaten anything! And then to not even respond to an email sentto their posted address…this place does not care about your dining experience…they care about your cash! Plenty of othergood choices in New Haven."

"We were lucky enough to stay at your wonderful hotel for three nights this March. We were with our children and had two rooms. From the moment we checked in the staff was fantastic. We arrived early and had brunch at The Mansion Restaurant. The staff was friendly and attentive, the food was excellent. We then sat at the pool while we waited for our rooms. The front desk staff hand delivered our room keys to the pool which was a great touch. The rooms at your hotel are beautiful, well appointed, clean and spacious. The bathrooms are gorgeous. The small balconies are lovely. Your housekeeping staff did not miss a beat. The turndown service was performed every night. Overall your hotel is a world class property. Every part of the hotel is tastefully decorated. The fireplace in the lobby lounge is comfortable and inviting. Your service is superb. Thank you for a fantastic stay."

Didn?t like the bomboloni as much as it tastes like a mediocre donut to me. Things to look out for are 1) food is a bit pricy for its relatively small portion, and the French toast board does not look like the previous pictures posted. 2) they have two versions of hot chocolate, we ordered the cheaper one $5, but got charged the other one for $6. 3)"

"I have eaten here probably 7-8 times. It's always been consistent and enjoyable. The food is good but not really memorable. Tonight I was really craving Italian food and this restaurant is only 2 blocks from where I live. I could list what went wrong but in short the problem was our server, Andrew. He's been a server there since I can remember but it felt as if he really did not want to be there, but then I noticed his tables around us were getting excellent service. It was uncomfortable and disturbing that he seem to be specifically avoiding our table. From the moment we were seated until we waited for 10+ minutes at an empty table for him to ask if we wanted desert or anything else. Very disappointing. If I go back and they put me at one of his tables I would get up and leave."

"we had difficulty finding the entrance from the waterfront. it wasn't clear. once in the inner we enjoyed the service, eat and drink. erica was a great waitress, checked with us and made attentive. when she knew we went to the concert in the shell, she made sure that our food was in time. garnelen appetizer was delicious, fish was perfectly cooked and duck was delicious. we enjoyed our evening."

"We didn’t eat food. The drinks where very good. I loved my drink. It was tart and sweet but fresh! I got the pretty in pink. We didn’t get to eat since we can I’m for desert and was told they don’t serve it till after 6... bummer the place is super cute. I would definitely recommend for the experience! But the service was super slow so we basically spent an hour there with drinks and tea just to find out our main reason for coming wasn’t available haha. Sucks. They were super nice about it though! Just wish they had some high tea Options."

"My colleagues and I had reservations at 12 noon and was seated promptly. Since Burmese restaurant are rear in the area, we were really looking forward to this experience. While we weren't in a hurry, the restaurant was. Drinks were ordered and they pushed to have a food order at the same time. We choose to wait to order the food until the drinks were brought to us. We ordered the Burmese style beef and goat stew as well as the Moh Hin Ga (Fish Noodle Soup). While the sauces of the meat stews were nice, it wasn't spectacular! The stew meats were definitely not tender. If you enjoy tough meat, then these dishes are for you. Additionally, the Moh Hin Ga was lacking in flavor and in my colleagues words: "would not order it again". Also, soft drinks and iced tea and refilled complimentary. Given the rush and the below average experience, will not be going back. Given there their great Yelp ratings, there seems to be a lot of patrons that like it. Maybe we just attended them on a bad day or the normal Chef was not present that day..."

"You know you are in a good, authentic place when the food literally transports you to your grandmother's house when you were a child. The black bean soup had this fantastic combination of ingredients that I have not found anywhere but in my grandma's kitchen. That soup, by itself, was worth the trip. The sword fish appetizer was very good and the pisco sour was fantastic (I know, pisco sour is not Mexican, but in any case, it was very refreshing and perfectly mixed). Price wise, well you are in NYC ... 'nough said."

"All you can eat lobster will not disappoint. Market price retail is close to $40 per pound, a 2lb lobster is already $80 so getting the all you can eat lobster is a steal. I had close to 7 lobsters, some surpassing me. You get a salad and they give you two potato’s and an ear of corn on the cob. They have the special several times a month. It’s best to make a reservation, but if you get their early enough for dinner you may be seated right away."

"I had been turned off by a few people because I LOVE prime rib. I had just heard great things about the restaurant. Unfortunately the whole experience was disappointing for us. We had reserved at the open table and requested a stand. When we got there the hostess did not confirm our reservation when we told her we booked them online and still got us to a table. She was our waitress and was pretty good. The drinks were well made but small for the price. We ordered the prime rib. I got the girls cut and my husband got the kings cut which is about a $ 20 price difference. When they came out, they were exactly the smaller portion I ordered in length and thickness. We ordered medium seldom (which it turned out to be), but it had no taste and was extremely tough. If there's one thing I love almost as much as prime rib, it's ranch dressing. It was chunky and tasted terrible. (and no, it wasn't blue cheese) To get our USD 100 bill at the end of our meal, we were both utterly disappointed with the entire meal. The quality did not reflect the cost."

"Absolutely loved our dinner last night. Service was outstanding and food was excellent. We’re vacationing and celebrated my dad’s birthday. Three of us split the tomahawk ribeye which was perfectly cooked and cut. We had the Mac and cheese and brussel sprouts, both delicious and memorable. Oh and the octopus! Outstanding! The salsa was particularly good.After quire a while, the two tacos arrived. They were good, too, but the wait was disconcerting.The miso soup never came.Three stars, mainly because of the wait and missed item. But, the food we got, when we got it, was good."

We went to this place because we were thrilled by the images of whole fish sashimi. And we decided to give this placea try. The whole fish sashimi was great, very fresh and the spices were delicious. The grilled octopus tasted so tender. Thegrilled whole fish of the day and salmon were all very tasty. Now to the unsatisfactory part, the attitude. The servers wereattentive, nice, and fast, but when ordering dessert, I asked our waiter to repeat the courses he mentioned, because I wanted tohear one specific item I saw from the menu. Since that item didn’t appear in his words, I wanted to double check. However, heapparently became impatient. That attitude, to some degree, ruined my experience here. Probably because of my feeling, thedessert really didn’t taste that great. Anyway, the food is really something. Try the whole fish sashimi!!"

"We had a great lunch at Wa Jeal. Starting with spring onion pancakes (delicious) and ending with chicken and broccoli (again delicious), the lunch menu (rice, main course and soup) was very cheap and delicious. The environment is wonderful - brick walls and pretty decorations and the service excellent. Highly recommended!!"
