"Our food was good however we waited almost an hr a half for our food. We had a reservation we were even seated before our original reservation time, because we had arrived mins early. They had a limited brunch menu which was not advertised when making the reservation with very few options but then pizzas, burgers, and sandwiches were per request. They would not give us a menu to see those items. The server was doing her best to ramble them off but did not have them all memorized we had to use our phones to look at the menu online. Salads were not an option, however, we asked if we could order those and our server said yes. We placed our order about minutes later she came back saying we could not order the salads because the kitchen was overwhelmed. I’m no chef, but I think a salad probably takes less effort time because there is usually nothing to cook. We changed our order at that point. Then the server tried to say we waited long to put our order in, which is why our food was taking so long. This was not the case. She seated us, brought our waters back explained the menu when she came back to take our order, we immediately ordered. It also took minutes just to receive our waters. I know they were busy, however, then they made the excuse that the kitchen was overwhelmed that’s also why it took so long. This restaurant has been around for a long time, so this is not the first Saturday they’ve experienced with a UK basketball game going on. It also didn’t help that our server just kept saying our food should be right up, but then wasn’t going to check on it and we could see tons of food sitting on the heated shelf from the kitchen ready to go out. Extremely frustrating. We understand everyone gets busy, but just be honest quit making excuses. I am not saying that you shouldn’t eat here, but maybe if you want to take your time or go during a non peak time. I think they have some kinks that need to be worked out with their staff kitchen"

"The Lefteris restaurants are well-known for their Greek cuisine in Westchester, but other upscale options are beginning to emerge. Meraki is poised to be a strong contender in this growing market. We were warmly welcomed by our server, who had a grandmotherly demeanor and provided a level of service that felt rare after the pandemic. To start, we enjoyed a generous serving of grilled pita accompanied by a dip. Our server's white wine recommendation was excellent—fruitier than many typical Greek wines. However, there was a downside: on the night of our visit, the grill was out of service, which meant several menu items were unavailable. For our appetizers, we chose the fried Cypriot meatballs and the gigandes beans. The meatballs were expertly prepared, combining juiciness and crispiness in every bite. The gigandes beans, served in a light tomato sauce, were far superior to canned versions. Our main course selections were limited due to the grill being down. I ordered La Portena's Pargi, which came sautéed over spinach. The server described the fish as Mediterranean snapper, which seemed accurate. It was a generous serving of firm, white fish cooked to perfection atop a lovely bed of spinach. However, my special roast lamb dish fell a bit short. It arrived as three pieces, each partially wrapped in foil. Although it appeared to be a large portion, it was deceiving; each piece contained a fair amount of bone, fat, and connective tissue. The meat itself was tender, savory, and moist, but there simply wasn't enough of it. The three accompanying potato slices lacked flavor. I did enjoy a Cabernet Franc, recommended by our server, which turned out to be better than I had expected. We took home our dessert, galaktoboureko, which was a generous portion—enough for two. It was nearly perfect: not overly sweet, with well-prepared pastry and fresh-tasting custard. I look forward to returning once the grill is repaired so I can try out more dishes from the extensive menu."

"How lucky are we in Baltimore to have such a great Greek restaurant serving up authentic Greek specialties since 1977! I think I have been coming here for over 30 years and have never been disappointed. The restaurant is not large – two rooms with tables for 2 and 4. They do not take reservations. It is brightly painted with scenes of Greece that only add to the charm of the restaurant. Tammy, our server, has been there for over 20 years, and she has mastered the art of taking care of her customers. We started off with the Kalamari, which immediately transported me back to Italy. It was a generous portion of calamari lightly breaded, fried to perfection, and served with marinara sauce. We were off to a great start. Our friends ordered two bowls of the Avgolemono soup. It was piping hot and delicious. My husband ordered the Souvlaki Platter with one steak skewer and one lamb skewer with roasted potatoes and vegetables. I had the Pastitsio, which was baked ziti layered with meat sauce and topped with creamy bechamel and parmesan. Oh my, I was in heaven. Both were served with a Greek salad. They make their own Greek salad dressing, and it is beyond good. You actually can buy a bottle of their dressing and keep bringing it back for refills which is what we do. Our friends ordered Grilled Chicken and Steak Souvlaki skewers as well as a side Greek salad and an order of roasted potatoes. Everything came with pita wedges. The portions were so generous that we have enough for lunch today. All of our dishes were freshly prepared using quality ingredients. We really liked the fact that the restaurant is BYOB with a $2.50 per person charge. They are now also taking credit cards. Treat yourself and come to Samos for great service and food!"

"On this visit, I was disappointed to find that the whipped feta was no longer on the menu, but there were still plenty of delectable dishes to enjoy. We kicked off our meal with two dips: muhammara and hot pepper labneh paired with winter squash and harissa. Muhammara is among my favorite dips, and this version was outstanding. The labneh was mild and provided a comforting blend of squash topped with a dollop of infused labneh and harissa. It had a touch of warmth without being too spicy. We shared two pita breads among three people, which was just right for our appetizers. Our first mezze dish was the farm greens salad, featuring delicata squash, cranberries, and pepitas resting on a bed of herby whipped goat cheese. It served as a delightful interlude. However, the highlight of the evening was the broccolini Caesar. The broccolini was beautifully cooked with a hint of char and dressed in a creamy tahini Caesar sauce, along with avocado and cheese crackers. Each element was delicious on its own, but when combined, they truly elevated the dish. The earthy flavor of the broccolini, the richness of the avocado, and the crisp saltiness of the cheese came together perfectly. I would return time and again just for that dish. We also ordered the cauliflower, which was excellent, but following the broccolini, it couldn't compete. For our proteins, we chose the sweet harissa chicken wings and the lamb kafta. The wings have been a menu staple since the restaurant opened, and rightly so—they’re sweet, slightly spicy, and consistently delightful. The dried lime labneh is nice but not essential unless you prefer milder flavors. Although I don't usually eat a lot of lamb, the herbs blended with the meat, along with the apple and caramelized leeks, won me over. For dessert, we indulged in the brown butter pecan cake served with buttermilk raspberry ice cream and figs, which was absolutely divine. The soft, spongy cake perfectly complemented the rich ice cream. We also tried the chocolate coffee tart, layered on a caramel base, crowned with maple labneh and accompanied by diced pumpkin sprinkled with seasonal spices. This was the best pumpkin I’ve ever tasted. My dining companions also shared a slice of baklava, which was wonderfully flaky, nutty, and held together with just the right amount of honey. A special mention goes to the Milk Honey cocktail—a clever twist on a Bee's Knees featuring labneh and lavender—as well as the Garden Variety, a mezcal cocktail with what I believe was celery. You’ll definitely want to order a second round of that! In summary? Make your reservation now, as the flavors change with the seasons, and you won't want to miss this fall menu."

"If you are looking for delicious, authentic Greek cuisine and homemade desserts, look no further than Antik Greek Kitchen. Situated on the former site of Charlie Brown off of Fairfield Road in Fairfield, my partner, our friends and I were a party of six, and some of us made a repeat performance yesterday for dinner to celebrate an early birthday at this family-owned establishment after 6 months. Upon entering, we were greeted by the owner, Maria. The interior remained upscale, clean, comfortable, and we waited a few moments to be seated at our table. Nicole, our server, took good care of us. The menu has about two dozen Greek entrees from traditional home cooking, pasta dishes, seafood, meats, and platter combos. Complimentary warm sliced pitas with beet and olive tapenade started our meal. As a meze or appetizer, we shared Saganaki (crispy coated pan-fried Vlahotyri cheese), Dolmadakia (homemade stuffed grape leaves with ground beef), not drowned in oil, and Spanakopitakia (homemade spinach pies). As an entree, we ordered Spanakopita (homemade spinach pie), Karpathian Makarounes (whole wheat cavatelli pasta), Lavraki Fileto (branzino filet), and Beef and Lamb Gyro Greek Platter served with rice pilaf or lemon potatoes. For desserts, we sang Happy Birthday with Portokalopita (orange cake) and complimentary homemade Greek powdered cookies. The food was fantastic, and the portions were huge. Plan to spend maybe an hour or more from the time you order, as this is a freshly prepared meal just for you. The owner would check occasionally to ensure everything was top-notch. The service was impeccable, and the staff really do treat you like family. We felt like we were in their home and had an excellent dining experience, which we can recommend."
