"Stopped by for their corn pie special as we do about 4 times a summer. Always good but this time one of our party of 4 found a hefty piece of cob still attached to the corn, and as the meal continued, more, though smaller cob pieces ,were discovered and made it difficult for our friend to enjoy the pie without feeling as if they should have included a toothbrush with the utensils. We decided to inform the management and asked that some compensation be made. We were very disappointed when an elderly man in an apron visited us at our table to tell us that yes, sometimes pieces of the fresh cob are included in the fresh pie simply because the fresh corn is cut from the fresh corn ears, and basically we should be thankful the corn is cut while fresh, and the only way to avoid any problems inherent in the use of the freshest corn of the season would be to use canned Cope 's corn and then you wouldn 't be able to call it a fresh corn pie. He said the fact that this fresh corn pie had a large piece of fresh cob included was just something you had to expect if you want fresh corn pie at Country Table. Here 's my fresh idea, if someone such as this gentleman had said Tell you what, our quality control missed that one and we 're going to only charge you half for that pie since we sent it out a little too fresh this time, then we 'd probably feel appreciated and plan to return. But as it stands now, I 'm fresh out of patience with this kind of rational; we 'll look elsewhere next time."
