"I had to go to the hostess to ask for a server to come to our table. The server was very nice. She brought the food. There was a long piece of hair in my husband's food. The server was mortified. They re-cooked it, offered us free dessert and did not charge us for our appetizer or my husband's plate. My shrimp was undercooked, but I thought I would just take it home and re-heat it. Typically we eat at their restaurant in Excelsior, but thought we would try this one since we were in the area. This was an unfortunate experience. They were quick to do what they could to remedy the situation."

"We wanted to love this place, we really did. And we gave them numerous chances, but they honestly just kinda suck. The food is ok at best. Service is usually just bad. It’s a real bummer.Our most recent lackluster experience was today…. Showed up around 12:30. Were seated right away, which was great, but then we sat there for a solid 10 minutes before anyone showed up to take a drink order, despite several employees walking by and looking right at us over and over again. When the waitress finally bothered to stop and take our order, she was clueless. Food (for 5 people) came out at 3 different times, and was wrong. The last dish, which came out at least 5 minutes behind everything else, was soggy and gross. It had clearly been sitting back there for a long time, which was truly baffling.Strongly recommend you go somewhere else. You’ll have a better experience."

"The food was disappointing, and the service was even worse. We were celebrating my son's 17th birthday at his favorite restaurant—Famous Dave's, which he has visited every year for the past 12 years. Unfortunately, this will be his last visit, as he has vowed never to return. At his age, he recognized that we were ignored and received overcooked, bland meals that were served cold. While my drink from the bar was enjoyable, it didn't make up for the overall experience."

"I went to check this place out after seeing their Monday spaghetti with meat sauce special posted in the Omaha Food Lovers group on Facebook. It's a little hole in the wall type bar hidden off of 16th in a residential area in Council Bluffs. A little loud inside, but clearly it's a go-to for locals. Couple of pool tables and a dart board. The food was good. For $7, you get a plate of spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread, and a side salad. The spaghetti was good, but their meat sauce was a little liquidy. It would be better if they thickened it up, and they had parmesan cheese to top it with. Their soup of the day was Zuppa Toscana like Olive Garden has, but obviously homemade instead of mass produced like OGs is. Very tasty, but a little bit more spicy. All of this including a drink was $13. Very good food, good prices. They had lots of daily specials and signs said they do breakfast all day, which is pretty cool. I will have to try and check them out another time."

"We had a great lunch at Wa Jeal. Starting with scallion pancakes (yum) and ending with my chicken and broccoli (yum again) , the lunch deal (rice, main dish and soup) was very well priced and really delicious. The setting is wonderful--brick walls, and pretty decorations and the service excellent. Highly recommend!!"

"A friend and I met up and decided to try Lake Forest Bar and Grill after seeing an advertisement for their happy hour. However, my previous experience at the restaurant was disappointing. The service was slow and unresponsive, and the food and drinks were subpar. Despite giving it another chance, the same issues persisted during my recent visit. The employees seemed annoyed and uninterested in serving us, and when we asked to see the Happy Hour menu, we were told it was not available. The lack of attention and poor service ultimately led us to leave without ordering anything. It is evident why the restaurant appears deserted, as the owner's lack of oversight is impacting the business negatively. As a former business owner myself, I understand the importance of quality service and am disappointed to see Lake Forest Bar and Grill fall short in this aspect."

"I want to share our experience with Famous Dave's in Cedar Falls, IA. In the afternoon of Friday, March 3, 2017 Ashley Pump House called to confirm our reservation for our gender revelation party later in the evening. They informed us that they screwed up our reservation and that there is nothing they could do. We spent 40 minutes French calling all places where we could think in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area to find a restaurant that could accommodate 50 people on a Friday night. Ashley finally made a call to Famous Dave's and we talked to Melissa, the manager. She asked some questions and finally said it could be a tight fit, but they were more than willing to help us. When they arrived, they told us that they only assigned a few waiters to our party. The waitresses were incredibly patient, nice and so on, all had everything they needed. When the waiters came here and started picking up all the checks, I realized I never got mine. I let the waitress know that I never got my bill, and she told me it was supervised by the manager. The manager paid for my and Ashley's dinner and my three alcoholic drinks. I wanted to let Melissa come to say thank you and we embraced her. She congratulated us and said something else. Melissa then called on Saturday and left a voice mail that thanked us and said she was glad that they could take our party. I have never had such amazing customer service and we are so grateful for everything Melissa and the waiters have done for us. And the food is soooo delicious! It was one of the best nights of our life."

"Was there over the weekend with my boyfriend. We sat at the bar, had a nice time. Food was great, drinks were also good. HOWEVER, we will never be returning. Our total was $63 and some charge we tipped $10. Service was okay, not fantastic. Today, my boyfriend looks at his bank statement and there’s the charge for $73 and change. Then ANOTHER payment for $38 and change. UNBELIEVABLE. I will be calling to speak with someone about this tomorrow. Beware after dining here, always check your bank statement."

"my sister in law came in on crutches with a 3 year old and asked if her party was there yet and was told you can go back and look if you want , not very helpful. when we were taken to be seated the hostess wasn 't clear on who they were taken back and basically pointed to a table and you guys are over there and you guys are over here. "We recently dined at Famous Dave's during the first week of restaurants being allowed to open at 50% capacity. The management took advantage of the closure to remodel the restaurant, adding more comfortable booths. The entry and ordering area has been redesigned with social distancing in mind. All staff are wearing masks and we observed frequent cleaning throughout our visit. Silverware, napkins, and packaged wipes are provided in a plastic wrapping for added safety. The food was delicious and served hot, leaving us feeling reassured about dining out with these safety measures in place. While we have also been getting takeout during Covid, we appreciate Famous Dave's for setting high standards and hope they continue to uphold them. Thank you for a great dining experience."

"We used Famous Dave's catering for a retirement party at our home this past weekend (40 guests). Prior to the event, communications with the catering staff were detailed, professional and very responsive. I'd send an email and a response was usually received within 15 minutes of sending). I even had a last minute change increasing my guest count two days prior and they were very accommodating.Delivery/Set-up on Saturday was on time and they had everything we needed to set up the buffet table- ready to serve and eat! I didn't have to do anything but, pay the bill and enjoy our day. The food was fabulous! Our guests couldn't stop raving about how good it was. Besides the great BBQ meat, the mashed potatoes and cornbread were the hit of the party. I thought a fight was going to breakout over who was getting the last cornbread muffin. LOL!I thought their prices were reasonable and affordable for a catered event. Definitely worth it for the enjoyment our guests received because let's face it, food is what makes an event most memorable.We would definitely use Famous Dave's catering again. If you are looking to cater an event, I'd highly recommend using them."

"first, when we were there, they did not have our reservation, although I did it on the line and then called to confirm. So we had to wait half an hour for a table. then we ordered drinks and waited another half an hour before our waitress came back for appetizers. so we ordered our meals at the same time. we got our appetizers, but waited an hour 15 for our food. guess what we were past hunger and eating was so because we had to wait so long, they offered free desserts. only one was good and that was the brownie. apfel crispy sucked and so did the banana pudding. we enjoyed our time together, but never went back whole deal sucked."

"When we arrived, we were greeted with friendly smiles and exceptional service. Our waitress was amazing! My wife ordered a chile relleno with a side of Mexican potatoes, while I opted for a plate of enchiladas, also served with Mexican potatoes and mac & cheese. The dishes were delightful, with just the right touch of spice. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish mine because I'm not accustomed to spicy food, but the flavors were fantastic! "I and my wife and daughter had a reservation at this point at 7:45. We sat at 7:50. We knew what we wanted so we could order our food immediately and two alcoholic drinks. 25 minutes pass and at 8:15 the only thing we had on the table was 3 water. No one was back to check us out and we didn't even get our drinks. There was something overcrowded, but not at the point where it should have been overwhelming for the employees. Now it's 8:30 and still not drinks or something. The table we sit on had a clear look at the kitchen area and my wife watched a girl who was a server came from outside to the ground and then go into the microwave and opened it and touched some corn with their bare hands to make sure it was hot and then went to serve it to a table. At this point we were fed and asked to speak with a manager to express our concerns. Another server comes to the table that said that the manager was busy, but she would be over if she could, so we expressed our concerns to her and she said she would tell the manager and check our foods and drinks personally.(yet no drinks on the way) 10 minutes later the manager (JESSICA ARCISD) comes to the table apologize and said she would check on our beverage order and told us that our food had 7 before him. We have expressed our concerns and have now given it the opportunity to do something. 10 minutes further and at 8:50 my wife goes to the bar and our drinks are already made and just sit on the bar counter without bartender in sight. Smh. So we finally get our drinks, but wait for food. (Don't forget that we have a 5 year old with us, who is also waiting and hungry)20 more minutes go by and around 9:15 the manager goes back to our table and noticed that we haven't eat yet and told us that she would check for the food. She comes back 5 minutes later saying that our ticket lost "

"This place had an amazing waiter. We never had to ask for refills, he was on top of everything and there were at least 30 of us there the rented room. He did a really great job. We were able to use two of the rooms, even though we only booked one room. When it came time for the other half of the room, (that was reserved), they were so polite and asked us to give up our tables. We even helped them clean up a bit. Didn't mind at all what a great staff they have here. By then the kids were so ready to play games and we didn't need it. The staff was super nice . The chips and salsa were good. Food came out fresh and hot. Husband said there were people running around cleaning tables and the many, many games every few minutes, and a sweeper cleaning the floors. The other areas of the restaurant, had an area for drinks and food and great music playing, Everyone was having a blast laughing and it was just a fun party place. A very nice place for families. We will give it another try soon."
