"The Original Hawaiian Royal w Fried Rice Portugeuse Sausage, Char Sui (Chinese BBQ Pork), Eggs, Fried Rice, Sprouts, Onions 5! Spam Masubi spam, rice, sauce, seawood wrap 5! Hawaiian style Macaroni Salad 5! I am a fan of Hawaiian food partly because it is a wonderfully, eclectic blend of influences from other cuisines and has evolved far enough to have its own distinct culinary identity. Rutt's Hawaiian Cafe, an LA Hawaiian cafe with a few locations around the SoCal area, fully embraces the food that makes Hawaii special. Their menu includes a large list of island favorites. I was drawn towards the Royale dish, which is something that isn't available at lots of other Hawaiian places. A Royale is an egg omelette dish mixed with rice and fillings. I went with their original which includes sausage and char sui and I went for the fried rice version. It was amazing! So much flavor with all the ingredients mixed together. Every bite was magic. It was also insanely filling. I used some of the bbq sauces on the table to add a bit more kick. I love Hawaiian style macaroni salad as well as spam masubi. Had I known how big the royale was, I'd probably have just ordered that but I was keen to try some other items. No regrets! The spam masubi is always a fun dish to have. It is a nice savory sweet combo and hit the spot. Their take on the macaroni salad was also excellent. The restaruant is bright and colorful. I like that a large copy of the menu greets you at the door. There are lots of seats inside and outside on a patio. The servers were friendly and helpful. My server is who convinced me to try the royale. There is a very small parking lot connected to the restaurant but it also looked like there was lots of easy street parking. If you love Hawaiian cuisine or if you are curious what makes a great Hawaiian dish, give Rutt's a try! They have been open for a long time and have a lot of great food in their friendly, colorful location."

"Coach 's Mediterranean Bar Grill, Huntington Beach, CA. 9/6/2010 6:11 PM Coach 's Mediterranean Bar Grill 200 Main St. Suite 105, Huntington Beach, CA 92648 714-969-2233 Paulette Le Pore Motzko [here link] I drove today to the wonderful Huntington Beach Pier and had thought of Coach's Mediterranean before I really knew the name of the restaurant. I knew they had made food in the Middle East, but never tasted the Mediterranean grill of the coach. I had seen this place in construction last year and thought it was a new place, but in reality it has been my waitress for 16 wonderful years Debbie Gonzales told me-who also worked at Coach's for the same time - which does not happen too often. I can see why she's been here for so long since she goes out of her way to all she meets and this extra mile for every customer. It's nice if I run to a place like this that is a family business that blossoms in every sense of the word.  From the first person I met early in the afternoon, the host named Bu or Bolent from Istanbul - who also has the bluest eyes a big smile and charisma. I feel that all employees are personal friends of the owner because they all really have an interest in providing the best quality food and service, much more than in many restaurants where I was. I've ever seen-He was very interested in making a feature story on the square and telling more people like I didn't really know how amazing the food is, the people and all the great things that Coach's Mediterran Bar Grill kept what they do all these years. What does work is a kind of family and not employees I feel here. I don't know how many of them are family members, but I wouldn't doubt that at least one of them is. There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try, and I had to narrow it to just one thing - as I wanted to make Falafel home for the last two weeks and had not managed to get into the store, Tahini, parsley, lemon juice or the cucumber for the Tsatsiki Sauce-I had their falafel pita sandwich. I also ordered a 1⁄2 order of her award-winning hummus, which is made here every day with some of the lightest, most delicious, warm pita bread. Some of the remarkable ones I recommend are: appetizers: Mediterranean delight for two-dies from hummus, falafel, tabouleh, dolmades, feta cheese, Kalamata olives Pita bread. Hummus Theirs is rich with Tahini and extra virgin olive oil and a sperling of Cayenne that gives you a kick! If you like mild dishes, I'd tell them to leave it. I only asked Debbie and the magic ingredient she cares about her hummus is what I thought - good old Cayenne - which I never saw up or in any hummus. A little is fine, but if you like the things mildly seasoned, just tell them to do without it. Debbie talked about how great her French fries and although I wanted to order a salad instead of the fries - I got the fries and am glad that I did because-they even beat Johnny Rockets regarding how crisp they on the outside and delicate on the inside.  Selection from the Grill-Coach 's Mixed Grill- Chicken Shish on a spit, gyro, juices, lamb chop and grilled tomatoes served with seasoned vegetables over rice pilaf. Filet Mignon Shish Kabob (Add Shrimps Kabob for just $5 more! They are marinated on a skewer with grilled tomatoes, served with seasoned vegetables over rice pilaf. The Combo Kabob has chicken and lamb as the main stars and they are both marinated separately and then served on a spit along with tomatoes with vegetables and rice pilaf. For $55 you and your loved ones can enjoy a mixed Mediterranean festive kabob. You will get a dish of the house delight, grilled chicken and lamb on a spit, gyro and juice served with tomatoes spiced vegetables over rice pilaf. You will also receive the house Dessert, which is baklava. NOTE: House Delight is-Lebni-what is like hummus, but is one of yogurt and mint and has the tartness that Tsatsiki Sauce has without cucumber and onion; Muhammara is made of walnuts and cumin with a kick of Cayenne pepper and I really loved the kick and the crispy texture of it. Mutebbal is made of eggplant olive oil, lemon juice yogurt and I loved how well it went with the hummus. Hummus, Tarama is made of carrot and yogurt and garlic Aubergine Dip is also known as the famous Babbaganoush. Coach 's is the only place I have seen that Kalamata has dug olives and what a wonderful taste they have too-not too briny or salty and very tasty. I have learned to place some of my dishes that I cook on my blog CookingUpAStorminCA.ning.com from Coach while visiting my friends in this extraordinary restaurant. He seriously thought of me investing in a few beautiful white or yellow plates now to best show my original dishes on Foodbuzz.com and CookEatShare.com and CookingUpAStorminCA.ning.com. As it turned out, I met the owner coach of this great place many years ago when I was the CEO founder of The Epilepsy Connection. He reminded me as a woman with a good heart and that makes me very happy to know because I am! I was asked to give priority to the things that are important in life that are values and good people around you. What a small world it is. That was before he redesigned the restaurant with the full bar. You have a wedding reception here at 7:00, so I want to upload a few pictures and then go out if they have to do something in the booth I'm now. The happy couple rents the entire restaurant with a full service bar. If you are soon married and would like to ask if you call your reception at Coach 's Bar Grill: 714-969-2233. Or, if you have a special anniversary and want this day to be special, call coach because in his words: I know what wedding costs and most prizes are overcrowded or what you get. However, Coach 's offers a very memorable experience of all at an amazingly low price for the quality of food and service. I know what weddings cost and I'm here to please my customers at reasonable prices. Instead of going to big chic hotels and paying thousands of dollars you can get much less than that at Coach's Bar Grill. We can provide up to 170 people with a total occupancy of 179. Also ask coach about which dishes would order well for this special person in your life. In his words: I can create the menu selection you like and work with you in every way. For a selection of fresh cold cuts, mild and aromatic cheeses and fresh salads visit us at Coach 'sDeli. 221 MAIN STREET D HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA 92647 714-969-2929 (hidden link) If you are interested in Coach 's say that Polly Motzko sent from CARestaurantShowCase.com to your restaurant (hidden link)"

"I'm from California and have had poke bowls maybe less than 15 times, but I'd say this was one of the better ones! I started with the southwest egg rolls (I got it all takeout) haven't had those for over a decade from Chevy's! These were so delicious. Light and crunchy/fluffy fried tortilla exterior, a little sweet inside from the corn and mostly savory inside with beans and cheese, a very mild heat that reminds me of a hot tea or your typical jalapeño nacho cheese. The dip it's served with reminds me of spinach dip, which I love, so this was a really excellent treat. This may be offensive to some and appealing to others, but it's like a few steps above Taco Bell. It fills the void and satisfies your primal desires for this type of flavor profile. Beyond that I had the regular Poke Bowl. The Large size was good for about 2 3 meals for one person. Tbf I ate THREE of the egg rolls and then a chunk of the poke bowl for lunch, more of the poke bowl for dinner, and then the last bit for breakfast the next day. It held up! The fish was fresh, flavorful, chewy usually my problem with poke bowls is that they don't use good fish and then cover it up with sauces. This seemed like good quality (but also the sauces were good). It's a mildly sweet but very savory dish. I've never had banana chips in a poke bowl, but I really liked that for an added tropical flair. The ingredient ratio was just right, I didn't feel that anything was skimped on, and nothing overpowered anything else. ALSO what was really excellent was the rice. I don't even really like rice, but mostly it's because no one knows how to cook it right. This was cooked all the way through, soft and it stayed that way, not hard and stale, and there were enough sauces to evenly coat the rice. I'm not sure if it's an option, but when I'm back again, I'd like to get half rice and half mixed greens if they end up doing that. Finally, I bought a slice of carrot cheesecake. My friend makes the best carrot cake so I always seek out comparisons. This one was okay/decent, and probably would have been the same in its prime as well. A standard carrot cake (I prefer more raisins and spices, and my friend's secret ingredients that she will be selling soon) topped with a standard tangy (like yogurt) and dense cheesecake, topped with a powdered sugar glaze and pecan crumbles. The pecans were a nice touch, good sweet and nutty flavor. The cake was very dry, and the cheesecake was getting a little dry. I do like a dense cheesecake, but prefer a thick whipped cream in it and less tangy flavor. I have no regrets, it was very tasty and you could easily split this slice between 2 3 people. Overall, would go again next time I'm in town! Wish all the poke places were this standard."
