"Be prepared because this might be a long review. Okay, me and my family of 7 adults and 4 children came in to celebrate my sister 's birthday. We asked them if they do all you can eat and they said yes. Okay, cool. We all sit down and we agree to the AYCE and begin ordering. We order about 5 plates of sushi and 1 order of fried rice for the kids. Next thing you know our server brings 4 plates of dumplings and a couple of bowls of edamame. We tell her, we didnt order it and she said its on the house from chef. We were confused but said okay. She then comes with more plates of dumplings and we ask her to stop because we didn 't order it. We sat there waiting for our sushi and it took about 35 minutes to bring out our 1 plate. 15 minutes later, the next one came. Because of how slow the service was, we made a big order for the next one so we dont have to keep waiting. The next order came aftee 30 minutes again. We were trying not to complain because we saw they were short staffed. And then we ordered again. As my brother was walking out with my sister, the head of the restaurant told them that because of us, they have to shut down the restaurant because they can 't serve all of us. He even told next time you guys come, we will have to deny you guys because of how many you guys are! Wait what? DISCRIMINATION! My older brother and sister gave him a piece of our mind and he did not apologize. He just shrugged and acted like we were the problem. But hold up, I didnt add the other petty things this man did. When he came around the table, i tried to be courteous and gather the plates and stack it for him and he goes Can you please not stack that? Because its hard for me to take it? And then when my sister lifted her glass for him to take to refill, he told her please put it on the table and then ill take it This asian man, looks like the head or manager of the restaurant was giving off this weird racist vibes since we got there. The fact he even blamed us that they have t9 close the restaurant because of our orders just shows how incompetent they are to run a business. Oh btw, we were the only family there for a good 2 hours so I dont know why it took so long for them to make our sushi. Please don 't go to this restaurant especially if you are of color. Just horrible!!!"

"Honestly, giving this restaurant one star feels generous. Paying $62 for food that was nearly inedible is beyond me. My aunt and I ordered a bento box that didn’t even come in a bento and a Pink Lady sushi roll. The roll was not edible; the crab mix was gritty, and the shrimp had a fishy taste that was far from just being deep-fried. My aunt's chicken teriyaki bento was disgusting—she had to send it back and ended up getting uncooked beef instead. When we expressed our dissatisfaction to the owner's wife and showed her the problems with our meal, she still didn’t seem to understand. Keep in mind this was after we had already paid. Overall, the food is not worth the money, nor is it worth ruining your taste buds."

"Haven’t been to a restaurant in months. They have a new chef. He did my sushi and I loved my spider, rainbow and California roll. Fresh and tasty. Hubs had his food done by the head sushi chef and said his chirashi bowl was aesthetically pleasing — balance of color pleasing to the eye. Sushi that needed to be firm was firm; sushi that needed to be soft was soft. Great harmony of flavors — saltiness, brineyness. Sushi rice well cooked and seasoned. It was a welcomed break from no dishes, meal prep or planning. Thanks, Tokyo!"

"Small sushi spot near Jack London Square. A friend and I ate dinner here on a Friday evening and it wasn't too busy.Parking mostly street parking or you can park in a nearby garage. We opted to park at the garage and walk.Since the restaurant wasn't too crowded, we were able to enjoy a pretty chill meal without any loud music or too much people. I went with the bento box with chicken teriyaki and tempura $17). The chicken teriyaki was good, maybe slightly more on the tangy side. The tempura was my fav crisp in all the best ways. The whole meal was really satisfying. Typically, I'll end up taking leftovers to go but this was so good I didn't have leftovers! My friend felt the same way about her sashimi platter.Service was great as well. Our server was helpful and attentive without being around too much.Overall, a great place for sushi if you're in the area!"

"Horrible service!!! I have been going there for years and the food is amazing! But today for my mom's birthday it was a horrible experience! The front waitress was rude to start with and didn't really help us pick a table! When we picked a table, she and others quickly attended people who got there after us and pretended not to see us. After she was done serving all the new tables, THEN she came over with an attitude, and we just decided to leave! I would always tell people this was the best sushi in the valley, but all ruined by bad service They have really dropped their services in the past years"

"We frequently eat sushi here. Rolls are consist, fresh, a good size, and overall delicious for a good price too! After trying a few sushi places in the area, Umi is crowned our favorite : We like the hoss roll, perfect rainbow or rainbow, pepper fin tuna jalapeño appetizer, salmon love roll, bbq tuna. But you probably can’t go wrong with any of their rolls. The service is always great, and it look like it’s run by a hard working family potentially.
