"In the bizarre, small little town of LaSalle, what seems like a deserted town from the 1950's, I certainly didn't expect to stumble upon this gem of a restaurant! The night before, we had dined at the Uptown Grill, which was a massive disappointment (way overpriced, flavorless, undercooked veggies, dry bread, poorly spiced scallop dish, etc. so we entered Social Kitchen pretty desperate for a decent meal. We were immediately greeted by a friendly hostess and seated quickly in the nearly empty restaurant, which is very narrow and contains about 30 (maybe tables total. Although SK is very small, it doesn't feel cramped or uncomfortable and is nicely decorated in a clean, somewhat industrial style, definitely very modern for such a old fashioned/kitschy town. Our server was very friendly, professional and efficient. She was the only server present, yet our service didn't suffer at all. We were very impressed with her service. By the time our drink orders had been placed, there were about five tables sat and at least four people at the bar, so she was doing a kick a job! All the entrees are served with a side and there's an impressively long and interesting side list! Food definitely sounded better than it actually was, but overall, it was a positive experience."
