"I had a lovely experience at this restaurant today. A friend and I had a nice outdoor table and enjoyed our meal tremendously. I have two staff members that I would specifically like to mention. Devinne, who I believe to be the floor manager, was quite helpful to me. I have many food allergies and intolerances, and I have to be very careful about my food orders. Even though Devinne wasn’t my server, she went out of her way to check on ingredients for me, she checked with the cook to see how a menu item could be adapted to meet my needs, and she was attentive to getting the order to me safely and without allergens. Anyone who has food allergies knows how special it is to find a helpful, conscientious person to help during a restaurant visit. I’d also like to mention our server, Megan. She was friendly and competent. Even though my friend and I stayed a long time to visit, Megan never let our water glasses go dry, and she didn’t lose patience with is for staying overlong at the table. "I love Smitty's! The food and the service are great. I've been to Smitty's twice since moving to Idaho Falls and have thoroughly enjoyed it both times. Well, technically three times, but I wasn't going to wait two hours for breakfast. On the first visit, I ordered the Juicy Fruit topped waffle. It was delicious. I mean...I love strawberries on anything but the density and texture of the waffle was perfect. On the second visit, I ordered the German Pancake which has quickly become one of my favorite breakfast items since having it for the first time in Oregon a few years back. I requested the strawberries on the side this time around with bacon and eggs. It was way too much for one person. The German Pancake was massive but delicious. I came here for a work meeting and it was perfect because they have free Wi Fi (if you ask for it). It's a great place to talk shop or bring a client. I would also recommend Smitty's for an everyday breakfast stop. The wait time can be pretty long if you stop in on a weekend. When my mom was in town, I tried to take her here but the wait time was close to two hours. On the other occasions, it varied between 10 30 minutes. There's no question that I'll be back. Hopefully the wait isn't too long."

"We enjoyed the guacamole and salsa. The medium guacamole and it was fairly spicy. Each person ordered a different kind of enchiladas and tacos and then we traded around so that everyone could try several kinds. We were severed quickly which would be good for people who have an evening engagement. Our only complaint was that it was quick noisy which made it difficult to hear each other at our table."

"The food here was absolutely fantastic. I almost felt that the ketchup to my burger distracted from the flavor. The service here was great too. Having two sisters with autism, I usually have a problem explaining it to the waitstaff; but they took theoutbursts in stride. It really made me happy. As usual, I save the restrooms for last. Speaking as a Custodian, I'm VERYpicky about my restrooms. With that said, I was pleasantly surprised to find absolutely nothing wrong with the restrooms here. Five stars. Excellent work. Keep it up."

"Highly recommended! Skip your expensive coffee folks and get yourself to the Cottage Garden Cafe for a delicious hardy breakfast that provides energy all morning! I had the Veggie Gourmet. It was great! They were generous with the asparagus, just how I like it baby. Homemade jam to boot! Very pleasant experience. It was like sitting at grandma's kitchen table. Cute little place. Waitress was politte with a kind facial expression."

"Went here on 9/25/22 and what a disappointing experience. No wait staff. You place your order at the front register and the order is dropped off at your table in 'to go ' packing. Then there is the 20% surcharge that I was told goes to paying their back end staff a living wage. This surcharge was then taxed along with our food items. If wages were the real issue and per the manager they are paying help $15.00 per hour, why do you still not have servers and a dishwasher? Very limited menu. We were not able to order a regular breakfast meal but were limited to the few 'breakfast specials '. Our party of two had to order from their 'specials ', two bagels with egg, one order of homefries and two coffees. SHOCKED at what we had to pay: $56.00 !! If we did not have to be somewhere that day at a certain time we would have left. We will not be back. Shutter your doors."

"We made a last-minute reservation since we were in the area, and given the limited Sunday lunch menu, I didn't have high expectations. However, the pork Sunday roast dinner exceeded my expectations and was delightful! The restaurant also seems like a wonderful spot for tea and cakes. I would definitely return if I'm in the area again."

On the downside, the roast beef did not meet my expectations—it lacked the deli-quality I was hoping for. Additionally, there was quite a lengthy wait, nearly an hour during the lunch rush, which can be frustrating. On the positive side, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff were very friendly. They even offered complimentary drinks to make up for the long wait, which was a nice touch. The bathroom was incredibly luxurious, and I thoroughly enjoyed both the excellent coffee and the delightful mango smoothie. In summary, I'd recommend timing your visit carefully and possibly steering clear of the roast beef if you're looking for the best quality. However, the other menu items and drinks were all excellent."
