"I recently had the pleasure of trying some treats from VanBakery, an Armenian pastry shop, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience! The variety of pastries and baked goods is impressive, and each item is crafted with incredible attention to detail. The atmosphere of VanBakery is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for enjoying a coffee and pastry with friends or family. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend their favorites and explain the different pastries. Overall, VanBakery offers an authentic taste of Armenian baking that is hard to find elsewhere. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious pastries and a taste of Armenian culture. "This is a different kind of bagel than the New York standard. Different tastes for different people, I'm sure plenty of people like these bagels.First of all the dough is a bit lighter, closer to regular white bread, but still on the bagel side of that spectrum. The bagel is large in diameter, with a very large hole in the middle, resulting in far less actual dough. The crust is very pleasantly crispy and chewy, combined with the lighter bready portion, makes for a nice savory texture. Unfortunately it's all topped off with less than generous toppings, which seems to be all too common these days (I've heard of the cream cheese shortage, but not the poppy seed or sesame seed shortage). The usual wide variety of cream cheeses, spreads, and the locks are up to the New York standard.Ultimately not my favorite place, but above acceptable for your bagel needs."

"Excellent food. Stopped for a sandwich on our way north and could not get over how delicious the Harvest smashed avocado toast was! (Smashed avocado with cinnamon, slices pears, blue cheese and walnuts incredible). My husband ordered the grape leaves (dolmas) and hummus, also very good. However the black and white cookie was the best I ever had. Don’t know why they only have 3.7 stars, maybe cost? It was a bit expensive, but considering the area ??."

"Very unique and interesting menu. Korma Chop in medium spicy was delicious. Kosta had two large meat spiced nicely. Their hand pulled noodles are very very long and moist and tender. Three kinds of Baklava...shown on menu individually but we had 3 kinds on one plate.OMG but the one with puffy center was the best we ever ate. Stuffed with pistachio filling. This is a treat we have had on worldly travels. Thanks to Yalifrat for wonderful service and conversation!"

"Not sure what all the bad reviews are about. I ate at the Westport location today and had a wonderful experience. I lived in NYC for twenty years, and had the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had today at this deli. The desserts were over-sized and very good too. The service was first-rate and the food came promptly. Only complaint was that it is not a cheap place to eat. The prices are a little high, but this is Westport and they seem to take a lot of time preparing their foods, so it makes sense. You can't eat in a town such as Westport and expect to get a deli sandwich for $4.00--it's just not going to happen. I would definitely go back again. Only other complaint is that I ate everything on my plate and I'm now stuffed."

Philz specializes in coffee blends made from sustainably sourced green beans from around the world, and roasted in Oakland. Best known for their Mint Mojito, a refreshing iced coffee made with muddled fresh mint. The location on Polk street has amply indoor seating and a customized iconic San Francisco mural. Staff was extremely friendly, efficient, and outgoing, and even offered me a warm welcome to the neighborhood."

"Most delicate, flavorful Beef Stroganoff we have ever had in our lives! And I had never had a Pelmeni (a type of Russian Dumpling) and it, too, was so flavorful, delicate wrapping, and the broth it was in was scrumptious. The Borscht was good, but very different than the other two I've had before, so not sure which was authentic this one was more brothy and light, I sort of missed the heavier beet taste, but still good. And then there were the desserts!!! Oh my!! There were three of us at dinner, so we tried all three and they were each amazing!! We all agreed thr Russian Honey Cake was our overall fave, but the Sour Cream Cake was a close second. All the multi layers on these desserts was astounding. So be sure to save room for dessert these aren't ones you will find most anywhere else. Nice server, interesting surroundings and delicious, from scratch food worth the wait! We also saw Vodka Tasting Flights that looked fun and the rest of their menu will bring us back to try more!"

"The food was excellent as always. In the last 20 years when I visit Albany, I make it a point to stop there for dinner. Although the restaurant has changed the hand-on number of time, the quality of the food has not decreased. The owner of the restaurant was friendly enough to take 25% of our bill because we plan dinner 45 minutes before the sale price to begin. Woul recommend"

"The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for families. It's somewhat tucked away, so you might need to be on the lookout for it. The staff is friendly, although service can slow down when the restaurant gets crowded. After several visits, we’ve consistently enjoyed the food, which has been delicious every time. We've sampled a range of dishes, including Frikase, Manty, Kuurdak, Bershbarmak, Lagman, and Samosa, and each one has impressed us. The Frikase is especially noteworthy for its creamy texture, while the Manty Dumplings and Bershbarmak are rich with flavorful lamb. Just a heads up that Kuurdak takes a little longer to prepare—about 20 minutes—while the other dishes are served fairly quickly. Portions are quite generous and satisfying."

"Last night my husband and I were strolling in the area. I saw the store and decided to get some ice cream. There was one person ahead of me they got their order then left. The servers were busy making others for customers who were seated already. I stood patiently in line waiting my turn approximately 15 mins). I was the only one on line. The servers looked at me but did not acknowledge my presence. While waiting three women walked in. The eldest one asked me if I was being served. I said no I was waiting for the servers. She said ok. One of servers walked over, completely ignored me and started serving the three ladies who had just come in. At that point my husband who was seated asked me what was going on. I told him I was being ignored and we left. For reference I am black and the three ladies were white. I don’t know if that was part of the reason I was ignored. Either way I won’t be going back to this establishment to find out."

"What a lovely and pleasant experience, Lisa was our server and she was so cheerful. All the Bellman were wonderful. The front hostess for getting my parking ticket validated was pleasant. Everybody was so efficient and on the ball. The food was wonderful and they accommodate every dietary need as indicated. For approximately $50 (before tax and gratuity) you get one glass of sparkly wine or champagne or some cocktail plus all the tea you can drink and you get to pick your tea just for you. They have everything from white tea to herbal tea and everything in between. The lobster roll sandwich was so good. Everything was perfectly portioned and it was just wonderful! I look forward to doing it again for another special occasion. Last but not least the furniture is beautiful and the heart player was wonderful."

"This place was mediocre. The atmosphere was nice and the staff was super friendly. But the food wasn't all. The bread they gave us was cold, the same with the bread on the Chevapi sandwich. The rice was good and the chicken and lamb were great. But most foods were cold. The prices are also a bit much. A samosa is $4.99. It's too high."
