"We made a reservation, but when we walked in, we noticed a lot of families with children and decided to sit at the bar instead. When we informed the hostess, she told us we would have to wait an hour and 15 minutes, even for bar seating. After I clarified that we had a reservation, she said it would be fine, and as we headed to the bar, I confirmed with her that I would still be checked in through Open Table as honoring our reservation, to which she agreed.
We then ordered the fajitas for two from the menu. When they arrived, the portion size seemed a bit small for two people, so we questioned our order and discovered that the bartender had only input a single order. She offered to double the portion, but by then, we decided to keep what we had. The margarita she made, however, was fantastic!
To add to our confusion, we noticed other customers coming in from the mall and easily sitting down at the bar, even though there were plenty of empty seats. This left us puzzled about the long wait time we’d been told about when we first arrived.
Fast forward to today, I received an email from Open Table informing me that I had a no-show on my account because we hadn’t honored our reservation last night. This happened because the hostess hadn’t checked us in. I was a bit disappointed, as we occasionally prefer dining at the bar rather than at a table, and typically, the hostess checks us in. I'm not sure if there was a miscommunication or some oversight, but I hope this issue will be resolved promptly."
