"If this review was based solely on the food and “atmosphere” I would give it 4 stars; however, this location is SO busy… wait times are excessive even with a reservation (seated 20 min after our designated time). Also… random — but the kitchen door has an excruciatingly annoying squeak every time it is opened (which is constantly) that could be heard throughout the entire restaurant. Some WD40 might do it some good? ?SERVICE: Our waitress started out being attentive and then didn’t show up for the last half of our visit. She did apologize which I appreciated but waiting around another 15+ min after finishing dinner for a to go box was tedious.Wouldn’t recommend visiting on a Friday evening due to how busy and most likely short-staffed they are.FOOD: The chips were tasty, salsa was a universal kind of yummy. The platinum swirl margs were good but the size was disappointingly small for the price.Fajitas were really good minus the three small choking-sized pieces of bone hidden in multiple strips of my chicken fajitas. In all, I’d give this place another shot but would plan for a weekday instead of weekend visit! And pleaseee fix the squeaky kitchen door."

Visiting again.. the restaurant is really good and the service is super fast. Must try the guacamole here it's really fresh and tasty. The cheese enchiladas, fajitas, chips and salsa everything is really good. But they are pricey menu. Their desserts are great but didn't order that. As I was already full

Stopped by for a birthday dinner. Party of four, and two ladies were visiting for the first time. Glad we made a reservation, to reduce the wait time. Kelsi was our hostess and she was great! She was very attentive, apologized for the delay with our food, and was super pleasant throughout our dinner. She kept checking on us to make sure we were ok. The El Jefe Margaritas were pretty good and the beer was cold. The food looked good and was hot. The kitchen was slow, but it was worth the wait. Ample parking and we had a table on the patio, next to the fire pit.

We used to dine other locations including Oak Lawn and Fort Worth. Been a few years since. I always loved the creativity and unique plates they offered that separated them from the many other Mexican restaurants. I looked for some of the dishes such as Cadillac Fajitas and the grilled meat feast that included carnitas, ribs, Fajitas. several meats. They are no longer on the menu. We asked for shrimp chicken Fajitas for two or more, and they didn't have those either. To me they have lost their MOJO and are just another Mexican restaurant and nothing special. Sad because they were special in their time. Food was okay, salsa is bland and mild. Had to ask for the habanero. Guess it's Chuys next...

As a former resident of the DFW area, we are very familiar with Uncle Julio's and the incredible dining experience it offers. Our recent visit was no exception. The restaurant's location is convenient, just a short drive from the outlets and other shopping amenities. We stopped for lunch and decided to try the barbacoa fajitas, which were absolutely delicious and priced at around $20, making it a satisfying meal for both of us. After adding drinks, appetizers, and tips, our total bill came to about $30 (including the must-have queso for first-time Tex-Mex enthusiasts). The service was outstanding, with our glasses constantly being refilled and every request being promptly fulfilled. Overall,... View menu

We were very disappointed with our experience at Onkel Julio's. It had been a while since we had visited, but we decided to try their taco bar. When we tried to order and make some substitutions, we were told multiple times that we couldn't make any changes. This was surprising, as it clearly states on their menu that substitutions are allowed. We understand that there may be an additional charge for certain changes, but to be told we couldn't make any substitutions at all was frustrating, especially considering some people have allergies. We came specifically to try this new dish, but now we won't be returning. It's unfortunate to have to leave a restaurant feeling like we can't have our pr...

We arrived at the restaurant at around 3pm on May 15th. The hostess stand was not staffed. It took 2 minutes for her to arrive. Ok, no problem. We were immediately seated as the restaurant was half full. Our server did not appear. However, a server did run through our section delivering checks to the 2 other table currently occupied. After about 10 minutes, the manager seats a table in our area. We inform him we have not been waited upon. He mildly acknowledges what was said. After another 5 minutes a server appears and starts serving the other table that was seated after us. When that table told her we were there first, she tried to keep serving them. We got her attention and asked if she w...

"On our last night visiting our kids (we live in Michigan-they live in Texas), we chose lazy dog. There was no waiting, we were seated right away. I was truly impressed with the interior decor. The birch looking trees by the concierge lent an air of nature. The metal dog sculptures were pretty awesome. I loved the beams in the high ceiling, very cool and I am inspired to create something similar in my own home. The fireplace wall was awesome, huge and the deer head mounted on it was unique and fitting. The restaurant was clean and spacious, easy to see from the road. Our waitress was Margaret and she was very friendly, knowledgeable seemed happy to be there. She brought our drinks right away. My son enjoyed the Alaskan Halibut. He raved about how good it was. The rest of us were slightly disappointed. IMO, the lazy dog takes the usual menu offerings but puts their on twist on it. There’s nothing wrong with that, it just didn’t meet our expectations. The queso was orange cheese with a different flavor-not bad, but not what we were expecting either. My daughter got the fried chicken meal. The seasoning in the breading was, different, unusual. Four of us tried it, the only one that really enjoyed it was my son. I got the pot roast beef dip. That was good and tasty. Both I and my daughter enjoyed the sandwich. The onion rings didn’t have much taste and I found them unremarkable. Hubbs got the cheeseburger which he liked and my acquired daughter got the all American burger which she liked. The portions of food were generous, but I felt the prices were high. I’m glad we tried this restaurant, but it is not going on my “must return” or favorite lists."
