"Average overpriced food. Atmosphere is good and gives the diner feel, but dang that food just wasn't up to part. I had a cheeseburger and fries, which should be difficult for a diner to screw up. The cheeseburger was tasteless and overcooked. The root beer float was decent but how do you screw something like that up? Felt rushed too while there. Price was around $20 for the cheeseburger and fries, and something like $10 for the root beer float. Plus tip and tax, came close to $40 for lunch."

"This is the first time I have ever been here with a bunch of people and this place is pretty fancy. It's got that old fashioned 1960s feel to it. It makes sense because it became a business since 1964 on Forest avenue in Staten Island. Then in the next year, Egger's added three more locations 1. Historic Richmond Town 2.Urby 3. Snug harbor. They also have a website explaining the history of Egger's. They don't only sell ice cream. They have candy too. The owner of that store told us the history of this place and how it came to be. They also have different flavors of ice cream. They had strawberry, chocolate, vanilla and much more. I asked if they had coconut and they did. It was coconut almond fudge with toppings such as crunchies, sprinkles or chocolate sprinkles. I tried their ice cream and it was good. It only cost $8 but I bet a cost way more or less. Maybe next time if I wanted something sweet,I'll get something from here. And don't worry they take cash and credit."

"I was there at 2pm for lunch. My friend and I waited about 10 minutes for a table to open up. Both the food and the service were awesome. For those reasons, lunch time (until 3pm) was really busy. Highly recommended!"

"I want to caution everyone about how unhygienic this restaurant is, along with its terrible customer service. I placed my order and waited for my food. While waiting, I accidentally dropped my fork. When I requested a replacement, they told me they had no more forks available. Instead, they offered to bring me hot water so I could clean it myself. I was shocked. When I asked again, they repeated that they had no more forks. It was evident that they do not adhere to COVID safety protocols. Are they really suggesting that they only have a limited number of utensils that everyone has to share? That’s absolutely revolting. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was told no. When I requested to see the owner, they also refused. Please be aware of how unsanitary and unprofessional this place is—don’t waste your time here. I would give them a zero if I could, but unfortunately, I can only rate them a one star."

"I am simply an Uber Eats driver and I had to pick up a meal and I think it was the owner or manager, he is a disgusting morbid person of the worst kind, he couldn't take his disgusting look off of me and when it It was time to deliver the food, he left it on the table so that he could come in until to take it and thus be able to look at myself intimidatingly more closely. In my life, something so painful has happened to me that an owner or manager has to do this type of thing. "My husband and I pass this diner several times a week and keep saying we should check it out; so this past Thursday evening we decided we had a craving for the diner experience and pulled into the parking lot at City Diner. We were greeted and shown a table promptly. I know this diner is known more for its breakfast, but the menu is quite diverse and we were there for dinner, we decided we had a hankering for Greek cuisine. We ordered the stuffed grape leaves and hummus appetizers. I really like stuffed grape leaves, and though the best stuffed grape leaves I've had in the DC area are at Taverna Cretekou, City Diner's version hit the spot as well. The hummus and pita bread are both delicious as well. For our main course we ordered the athenian combo, which we realized after, was enough food to feed two people....the portions are definitely filling at City Diner. The platter has tasty gyro meat on a pita, spanakopita, salad, and french fries. You also get another side of salad or soup! Did I mention you will not leave hungry?! : This a definitely a place local diner fans enjoy and I can see why...from the decor to the super friendly staff, we felt at home the whole time. We plan to comeback to try breakfast or shakes and pie sometime soon. Thanks for a great traditional diner experience."

"I have been eating at that diner for most of my adult life. It was always a good source for classic diner eats, with fresh ingredients. Recently, there have been minor changes to their food prep when only one person is in the kitchen that take the service downa notch for me. However, it is generally a good spot. Vegetarian options: My favorites are; veggie burger delux, with sweet potato fries, spinach pie with a Greek salad, or falafel platter that was divine along with an assortment of omelets filled to the brim with different amazing flavors. Dietary restrictions: I don't eat animal flesh, but I always find something wonderful."

"So I walked into Pop's on Jamaica Avenue in Woodhaven the other day And much has changed. Been coming here for almost 20 years but haven't been here for a few. Sadly they've removed a lot of the beautiful wood although some remains. The old fountain counter is gone, As are the booths and other seating to be replaced by elegant tables And a bar. I have to say it makes a cute little restaurant, although I do miss the old Pop's. The food was good. This is no greasy spoon. It's a step above diner food, but with the ambience of a somewhat classy restaurant. The new Pop's is a nice place for couples or families to dine; or to dine alone as I was."

"We spent the morning at the NY Aquarium and then walked around Coney Island. When it was time to go we stopped at the Parkview Diner for lunch. They asked us if we had been vaccinated, which is fine — and yes, we have been. We were seated in a booth and our server was great and checked on us several times while we were there. Food was good and coffee was refilled consistently. My wife had an omelette and my daughter had some kind of chicken sandwich. I had the beef gyro and it was very good. We all enjoyed our meals and our time there. Glad we found a diner to stop at on our way back to Jersey. We were beat and didn't need anything fancy. The parking lot is small and a bit tight so be extra careful getting in and out of your parking space!"

"Love this typical but way above average NY Diner. A small amount of parking available in front and more in the back. Easy in and out also right next to the train line. Clean and safe area. Wait staff is excellent, like a jump back in time. Food was good. Fish Chips lunch was great. Best tarter sauce EVER. Ckn salad club sandwich was good. Fries were great. Lemon pie huge w/ a delicious sponge type cake crust. Across the street the Jets or maybe it was the Sharks played bball an I kept waiting for them break out in song dance."

"Came here based on reviews and the fact that I always have driven past her. I ordered the hot chocolate and it was small but delicious! I order the chocolate chip pancakes and they were so gooey with chocolate and yummy. It tasted better with butter. My boyfriend got French toast and it was amazing. It was thick and tasted like a warm apple pie! The omelet was okay it needed a little something so we put salt to add some flavor and it was good. The toast was crunchy and buttery. The bacon was crispy and made the way I like it. The muffin was toasted and was different but in a good way! It was full of flavor. We had plenty of leftovers. We also order a chicken parm to go and it looks amazing. Staff was super nice and the bill was reasonable and was surprised it wasn’t more than I thought it would have been. I definitely would come here again! Delicious food and very filling. Update: came back again and as usual we were very delighted. The hot chocolate was good. Not crazy for the chocolate whipped cream but the hot cocoa was yummy. The side of bacon was crispy and flavorful. We ordered the Hawaiian pancake special and it was ok. It was a bit dry and probably could use a bit more coconut. My bf got the western omelet and it was very filling. The bagel and toast were nice and crispy. The toast was very buttery. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla. It was AMAZING! It was super cheesy, packed with flavor and protein. The sour cream and salsa made the dish even better. Once again the portions were huge and had left overs."

"I placed an advanced order for three people through Uber Eats. A couple of hours before the deadline, I made changes to my order, switching my soda to a diet root beer and removing the mac 'n cheese bites. They replaced the soda as requested, but kept the mac 'n cheese bites without charging me. It was strange, but I didn't mind getting free mac 'n cheese bites. However, the chicken sandwich I ordered, called the Edsel, was disappointing. It was extremely greasy, to the point where I could see my reflection in the bun. I had to constantly wipe my hands with a napkin because it was so messy. The sandwich was soggy and lacked any flavor. I felt like I could have made a better chicken sandwich myself, even though I'm not very skilled in the kitchen. If all of their sandwiches and burgers are like this, then I won't be returning to this diner."
