"Great cacio e pepe! Really Roman style from Italy! The portions for pasta were a true primi first course the way they are in Italy. The food is D.O.C from italy as well. Pasta could have been a bit more al dente for me and courses should have been served slower. Price point is great as is service."

"this is a very nice old school style Italian restaurant! we sat on the back terrace, which was cute and intimate. they can definitely feel that this is a family run and our service was wonderful. this place is byob, so do not forget to bring her wein! to begin, we have the Calamari Appetizer. our plate had a quantity calamari and a delicious marinara sauce. and for our entree we have the rigatoni alla casalinga. we did not feel so hungry so that we wanted to share one, and they actually brought him to us, already divided into two plates! and for dessert we share a cannoli that was the perfect sweet tasty. if they are looking for a cozy and classic Italian spot, this is their place! to be honest, I don't think this is the best Italian food that they can get in chicago, but it's pretty good and quite expensive! and the service and the hospitality are amazing."

"The Caesar salad was very blah and way underdressed.. the Caesar dressing tasted like it was right out of a bottle.. not good.. And, instead of nice shavings of parmigiana reggiano , there was a sprinkling of a cheese that tasted like sawdust.. probably a Caesar salad I’d expect at a low end Italian restaurant, not La Masseria. The lemon handmade ravioli was an entree. There were six 1 inch by 1 inch ravioli as an entree portion… they were very good, but the portion was beyond ridiculous…My date felt bad my portion was so small, he gave me some of his pasta.. Our warm apple with vanilla ice cream was good… All in all a bit disappointing!!!"

"Angelo's was recommended to us by a family member who knows New York City and Italian food, and we were not disappointed. Despite being busy on the evening of 1/23/15, we had reservations and only had to wait a few minutes. The maitre d' was busy but still took the time to have a pleasant conversation with us. When he sat us down, I accidentally spilled my white wine on both him and myself. He reassured me that it wasn't a problem and even brought me another glass of wine. The dinner was incredible, with delicious calamari and bouillabaisse. As we were leaving, I thanked the maitre d' and he kissed me on both cheeks and hugged me, doing the same for my husband as well. This meal and experience set the tone for one of the best weekend trips we've had in New York City."

"I had the pleasure of visiting this elegant and sophisticated Italian restaurant for lunch recently, and it was a delightful experience from the moment I entered until the moment I left. The restaurant's interior was tastefully decorated, creating an atmosphere that was both relaxed and intimate—perfect for enjoying a leisurely lunch. The staff was attentive and well trained, providing great service throughout. The Carpaccio di Manzo, a dish I tried as an appetizer, was truly delightful the flavors were exquisite. As for the main course I had the homemade Ravioli which was outstanding. "Book a reservation at 8 pm for a Valentine's Day dinner. This was my first experience to eat in this upscale Italian restaurant. Usually I would write a long and eloquent review of places I visit. However, I have my expectations with the knowledge that it is highest hour on this Valentine's Day evening. The atmosphere is warm and stylish. Needless to say, our reservation time has not been honored. After 40 minutes waiting and a trip to the hostess, we finally made it to our table at 8:45. The bartender, made a delicious martini and they even had filled blue cheese olives. A word of advice, perhaps the management should consider this fine liberation to serve with a spear. Fishing the delicious olives with my fork seemed more like a trip to “Applebe’s” than a fine dining environment. The bartender composed our drinks for the waiting period that helped to take off the edge. As soon as we made it on our table, we received a basket of bread which was quite inspiring, but the olive oil was pleasant. We waited what seemed to be an eternity for our server to take our order. But all in all, the offers were delicious, the wine selection is excellent and the server was friendly and attentive. I will return to a less hectic occasion and hopefully have a better chance to be impressed."

"This was our second time visiting. We had great apps, the shrimp and eggplant, hearty portions for four to share. The pizza, pork chop and carbonara were tasty. My bucatini nera alla calamari was disappointing though, fishy tasting and waaayyy over-peppered. Also, my bucatini seemed like the same exact pasta as the spaghetti in the carbonara. It wasn't hollow. This was my second time eating here and I tried something new with this pasta dish so I will avoid it next time. The views and cocktails and service are good here. The menu has great choices, but also some misses. It's very dark inside and also gets loud, but I enjoyed most of the dishes and will be back."
