"A very beautiful environment with friendly and helpful wait staff, but the food is just okay. I came here with a group of friends. I ordered their lavender French 75 cocktail, which was pretty good. A little too lemony, but with hints of lavender, bergamot, and floral gin which were nice. I also ordered the Pasta Roman, made with squid ink pasta, shrimp, and lobster. It was just okay. (Maybe I didn't look at the menu closely enough, but I expected it to come in an ink sauce. My mistake. I felt like it was a pretty bland pasta in cream sauce with some seafood thrown on top. Nothing memorable. I thought it was just me, at first. However, the consensus in our group was that our food was missing something. Everything lacked depth and punch, in my opinion. My friend described it as under-seasoned. I think that's a fair assessment. Thanks for having us, but we won't return."

"I’ve been to this place twice now over several years and both time I’ve left thinking Buona Forchetta is incredibly overrated. There are so many better Italian places in San Diego and even in the South Park area. This isn’t to say it is BAD but for over $100 for two people with no alcohol, I would expect something other than just average."

"I had driven by this restaurant many times over the years, assuming it was just another place to grab a quick pizza or sub. However, about 6 months ago, I finally decided to stop in and place an order. To my surprise, I discovered a spacious dining area and decided to dine in. I was thrilled with my decision, as I now make it a regular spot to unwind and enjoy some time to myself. This restaurant is much more than just a pizza and sub joint! The dining area is simple, unpretentious, and well-organized. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the food is exceptional. While I have yet to try their pizza or subs, I have sampled a variety of their other dishes, including the chicken Caesar salad, fish, burgers, and baked ziti, all of which have been cooked to perfection and delicious. The prices are surprisingly affordable given the quality of the food and service. The bathroom, at least the ladies' room, is also very clean. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem!"

"I absolutely adore this restaurant, from the inviting atmosphere to the incredibly authentic food! If you’re like me, you know how difficult it is to find truly genuine Mexican cuisine these days. If you’re looking for Tex-Mex, this isn't the place for you! Everything here is made from scratch, including both flour and corn tortillas, which are prepared daily. You can really taste the freshness and the care that goes into every bite. Just a heads up: their margaritas are made with wine, but who doesn’t appreciate a strong drink?! "the food was decent. I had the salmon salad and my friend had served the fillet mignon special with blue cheese and a maissalat. the salmon was raw what was unexpected, I'm not sure that the menu said. I'd rather have cooked it. there were notations attached and the dressing certainly gave the salat a good appeal. it is a very common salat that they could definitely get from many other restaurants the filet looked great and the blue cheese and the sose took it to the steak, it itself was not so seasoned. my friend did not even touch the maize side, as it was not seasonal either. server seemed nice. the bar-tender made us quite good soft drinks. the atmosphere was beautiful, although the space was limited and felt a little tight. there are no cabins and most tables are small 2 seats or a 4 seats. I'm not sure I'm coming back here, but it was funny trying somewhere new."

"My colleagues and I had reservations at 12 noon and was seated promptly. Since Burmese restaurant are rear in the area, we were really looking forward to this experience. While we weren't in a hurry, the restaurant was. Drinks were ordered and they pushed to have a food order at the same time. We choose to wait to order the food until the drinks were brought to us. We ordered the Burmese style beef and goat stew as well as the Moh Hin Ga (Fish Noodle Soup). While the sauces of the meat stews were nice, it wasn't spectacular! The stew meats were definitely not tender. If you enjoy tough meat, then these dishes are for you. Additionally, the Moh Hin Ga was lacking in flavor and in my colleagues words: "would not order it again". Also, soft drinks and iced tea and refilled complimentary. Given the rush and the below average experience, will not be going back. Given there their great Yelp ratings, there seems to be a lot of patrons that like it. Maybe we just attended them on a bad day or the normal Chef was not present that day..."

"Nonnina has become our go to restaurant for pre theatre dining. It is consistently good. Yesterday it was excellent. There current fall specials are all wonderful. We had the special salad with squash and many other veggies, the special risotto and the scallops, which were all incredible. The squid ink pasts with seafood is always a good choice too. "We really enjoyed our dinner and the service was great. The noise level is high but not overwhelming and it was a busy Friday night, it may be quieter on another night. The service was just a little quick for us. I understand it's a Friday night and they need to turn tables but I'm a quick eater and my salad came out right behind the appetizer and my dinner was sitting for three or four minutes before I finished my salad. Next time I go, if I'm not in a rush, I'm going to ask them to slow down a little bit. I would prefer to finish an appetizer before a salad, or a salad before dinner. The food was excellent, I had pasta with pesto, and my wife had a beet salad. I started with the pear salad, and we shared the artichoke heart appetizer. All were freshly prepared with care and were delicious. In addition we had 1 glass of wine, a sparkling soda, and we took home a calzone for my son and it was $132 w 20% tip. Not inexpensive but reasonable in my opinion. We will go again and try the pizza, they look delicious!"

"First visit for brunch and I was blown away by everything. The atmosphere is amazing and even though it’s on a busy street, the restaurant entrance is in the back creating a chill environment of indoor-outdoor open space. Yakatori beef with portobello mushrooms cooked perfectly with a slight sweet glaze, and super crispy fried shrimp appetizers were spot on. The salmon eggs benedict ranks as one of the best I’ve ever had for one simple reason, the hollandaise sauce was the perfect thickness and most importantly had a very distinct lemon punch missing from most. Finally, the basket of fresh pastries, lemon curd, blueberry mini muffins and cinnamon rolls were so good and so fresh, I consumed them all. Obviously made fresh in house with homemade blueberry jam that was not overly sweet and whipped honey butter complimented perfectly. Definitely could all stand on their own. Magnificent all around."

"Cheese pizza was good enough but the chicken and arugula salad was sub par. The arugula and other spring greens were accompanied by their stick-like stems, some4 and 5 inches long giving the salad the consistency of what I imagine a birds nest would be like if you tried to take a bite out if one. Very disappointing. Will not recommend and will not return.I should have listened to my little voice that wondered why some other restaurants nearby were packed and this place was empty."

"We went for dinner and were seated in the front patio. The host seated a couple in the table next to us. The couple were on their speaker phone for most of the meal and we advised the host who said she would let the manager know. The waiter Pablo feltawkward, noticed their behavior and acknowledged it to us with an apology. I called the restaurant after we left to speak withthe shift manager, his name is Gabrielle. I advised him that we just spent $100 and couldn 't enjoy the experience. Hebasically to told me sorry, there 's nothing I can do for you. He said look for me next time you come in and I will take care ofyou, in which I replied, what does that mean? and he replied, I 'll find you a nice table! I said Gabrielle, pleaseacknowledge we just spent a lot of money at your restaurant and had a very poor experience, so his reply was (in so many words),tough there 's nothing I can do! I 've never had this type of experience and frankly this is the 1st negative review I 've everposted. The operation of the this business is flawed and we will never go eat there again."

"Pizza service at a fine dining price. It was Friday date night and it took the receptionist 10 min to even get to me. I explained that my husband was parking the car we were not a group of 6 teenagers). She then declared that I could not sit at the table until ‘my party was complete’. So I sat the 7 min looking at the table that she ultimately sat us at when my husband arrived. I guess that as a 60 year woman, I just look like a liar. The waitress did not take our order for another 15 min. The food was fine I loved my tomato entree $17) and my husband thought the salad was so so. All in all we could hardly wait to get out of there."

"Beware the music charge. No live music when we were seated at some couches. Group of 6. Food was good. Service was nice but sparse. We knew we would be paying automatic 20% due to group of 6. Was not aware we would charged $5 a person on the check, for the piano player that started playing mid meal. Then gratuity was calculated after tax and music fee. So 5 Tapas, one bottle of wine and 1 cocktail went from $135 to $212. I’m not opposed to a $200 meal. But I would not pay for this experience again."
